If you want to eat bread fit it in your calories for the day like any other food. Also you can eat rice, potatoes, pasta, sugar, beef, eggs, pizza and other foods some people will say not to eat and still steadily lose weight if you maintain a calorie deficit.0 -
Money is always good to have regardless of weightloss or not0

I ate a sandwich for lunch almost every day of my weight loss. Sometimes I choose things other than regular bread (wraps, pita pockets, tortillas, sandwich thins, etc) but it didn't stop, halt, or slow my weight loss.
If you want to keep eating bread, then just make sure it fits your calorie and nutrition goals. If you want to substitute or eliminate it, that's fine too. As with many food choices, it's really personal preference.

I eat bread, rice, potatoes -- not as much as I used to, but it's definitely part of my diet. I have switched to brown rice and whole grain breads for the most part.0

Bread like any other food is not inherently bad. I have reduced the amount of bread I eat because I am diabetic and have to watch the carbs I eat. As long as you work it into your daily calorie allowance it is perfectly fine.

I love bread, especially with olive oil, salt and pepper. I can't wait to add it back in to my daily calorie total once I hit my goal. That 500 calorie daily deficit will find some fun foods to add back to my daily meals and snacks.0

Bread is great! I have a piece of toast about every other day now.
I haven't been much of a bread eater for the last decade or two ... it just wasn't something that appealed to me ... but for my first 6-7 weeks here, I craved whole loaves of bread. Really odd because before I got here, I would go entire weeks without it. So since I started here, I have been eating bread, but I limited myself to a piece or two each day just to keep the calorie count down.
Fortunately, just in the last couple weeks, that craving has eased up a little bit. I must be getting my carbs from other sources.

A nice, thick chunk of crusty bread dipped in some really good olive oil Yum.
There's a special place in hell reserved for light bread and fat free cheese.0 -

I love bread, but haven't been eating as much recently. If you can practice moderation go right ahead. If you are like me and will eat half a baguette in a day, avoid it.
Re light bread: not super tasty, but convenient when you are looking for something lo cal to hold together the meat and cheese.0 -
EAT ALL THE SANDWICHES.0

Calorie deficit = weight loss
Carbs have nothing to do with it unless you have s medical condition0 -

The method you are using is cico and eliminating carbs has zero point zero percent to do with it0 -
It's all about CICO and incidentally, I love bread!0

The fear that strikes in people when they think of insulin. But they don't know what foods really impact insulin and to what level. It's just insulin = devil. I am not talking about diabetics.
Ohhhhhh noooooooooooooo the insulins!!!!!0 -

It sounds like you don't have anything to back up your claim.

It won't stop you from losing weight if you're in a caloric deficit. Ditching it won't help you lose weight if you're eating at a caloric surplus. Some people find it easier to maintain a caloric deficit without eating it, others don't.
Do what works best for you.

I love bread. But I love bread too much, and it isn't filling for me. Especially with meat and cheese between a nice thick 12 inch loaf of french bread, it's my doom. I just feel like binging when I have bread. So I try and reduce my intake or I would eat it all the time.
If you can handle eating bread and be within your calorie goals, go for it.0 -
lol _Waffle_
you're hilarious!

Jelly, are you wanting to argue with me again? I relayed my personal experience and did not make a claim. You seem to be quite the pot stirrer.0
-
I'm totally a fan.
I've lost 76 pounds so far, and reversed my insulin resistance all while eating bread.
So yay bread!0 -
I think my cheat desert will be bread pudding. In moderation.0

You said you thought bread slowed down weight loss. I can only go by what you write. Is that not what you think?
Don't make this personal. This isn't about you. This is about demonizing foods.
Do you think bread slows down weight loss, yes or no?

Yes I do. Is that clear enough jelly? It was my personal experience with bread and I have heard the same from others. I have no scientific data to back it up.0

I love bread too, and it hindered my weight loss not at all! Every week I make my own bread, and I make bread pudding out of the leftover pieces. I lost weight fine eating bread, and I maintain eating bread. Please, oh please, nobody take my bread away!0 -

Do you believe it causes water retention, or actual fat gain? I know on the scale they look the same, but they are too different animals.0 -
Not fat gain. A slow down in weight loss. I guess an effect on metabolism. But I am just guessing.0
