Sure.
Some of you seem to be obsessed with Dr. Katahn's diet. I am not. Fact is that I did his diet years ago and lost 78 pounds in 5 months and kept it off for 15 years. That's all there is
All we have to go on are your multiple posts on the diet, all made in a very short period of time. I'm not sure why your past success is an issue, as you are now using it with a goal to lose at least twenty pounds a month.

Which is lovely. Still does not change the fact that you were a little Pinocchio there.0 -

Your posting history shows you are obsessed with it. Your history shows you promoting it, then denying that as well. Integrity matters and it seems you lack in that area.0 -

If that is true, that is very notable. Maintaining a significant weight loss for 15 years is a major accomplishment and something to learn from. Unfortunately, your posting in this thread has made it difficult to take you at your word. At any rate, none of that changes the facts that VLCD should be only done under medical supervision, which you have not said is involved in your plan.

So...you make posts about Dr. Katahn's diet...say that you haven't made posts about Dr. Katahn's diet...then when someone calls you out on it you say WE'RE obsessed with Dr. Katahn's diet?
Is this supposed to be some form of reverse psychology or Jedi mind trick or something?

"Here is my modified version of Dr. Katahn's Rotation Diet"

At a quick glance, the Rotation seems to be a looser, slower version of Lyle Mcdonald's UD2.0, without the emphasis on protein consumption....? Is that about right....?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you not claim in another topic that you had used this diet a number of times to lose 20 pounds quickly.
So which is it?
It's both of them. And neither of them. Kind of like the how the OP has both written and definitely not written threads about Dr. Katahn. That's the wonder of the Rotation Diet: You get to rotate out the actual truth and rotate in convenient "truths".

Other issues:

What I want to know, is how in earth people are supposed to get adequate protein and nutrients on 450 calories a day?
*
Personally...I don't think it is possible.
Disclaimer...I eat between 1400-1500 calories daily.
However...yesterday I ate only 950. I managed to hit my protein and fat levels...carbs were around 75. Everything else was also at or above my 1400 calorie levels except for calcium and iron. I was considerably low on those.
It was an interesting experiment but one that required that I had to do a lot of planning.
I couldn't eat that way for more than a couple of days at best...life would not be fun!
That is lower than any PSMF I have seen. I fact, the P will not be S'ing on that low of an intake.
However, if someone is morbidly obese, its less of an issue and the benefits of getting weight off will often outweigh any risks - however, these are supervised and additional supplements taken.
My issue (as I have mentioned) is the total lack of context or decent explanation in the article.
I'm doing a PSMF based on a calculator that accounts for my gender, activity level and body fat percentage. My calorie max is 558. My understanding is that most PSMF calorie ranges are from 400 to 800. It's a modified FAST in which one eats enough protein to maintain muscle mass.0
