Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I'm back to taking charge of my food, instead of letting it take control of me.
I went on a mini-vacation, where I ate a lot of food and a lot of drinking (compared to usual) and it's all logged in.
So I'll spend the next 2 weeks working off the damage.
    But I'm in control again.

    Anyone else grow veggies?
We're in New England, and I just got my spinach/lettuce seeds in the ground (the snow only melted just last week).
My green beans, peas, and zucchini seeds are germinating on little plates, getting ready for the ground.

I love the end results, when my daughter gets off the school bus, walks by the garden, pluck off a few snap peas and/or cherry tomato, and pops them into her mouth walking into the house.

@DanaW13: "weight still at 135, no progress this week"
did you take measurements or progress pictures?
    do your clothes feel looser?
I'm not a fan of the scale; I prefer the updates of measurements or how I feel in my clothes.
No weight loss does not have to equate to no progress.

I love Sohee's post on making progress:

Amanda--thanks for the advice/encouragement! I haven't done measurements, maybe I will start that, but I can't say my clothes feel looser. But I upped my running speed yesterday by running intervals for 4 miles, so I feel good about that :). Enjoy your veggie garden!

    Happy Monday!
I have to admit, much like @huango, I took a break from logging over the weekend. I just needed some time off from scrutinizing everything I ate. The past week was awesome, in terms of sticking to my low carb goal and hitting the gym. But by Friday, I was exhausted from it and needed a break.

A frustrating thing I dealt with this week, is that I Gained a couple lbs...but I've lost an inch from my waist in the last month! Although it's hard to see this as a NSV in my mind, my MFP buddies have made me feel good about this development!! Thanks guys!!

This wk's goals are getting back to a good diet and being more strict on weighing everything accurately with my handy dandy food scale :)

Way to go all you ladies! Amazing people here!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I lost two more pounds last week, bringing me down do 172 lbs.

I ate a lot of salty food over the weekend so I'm up a little bit again today, but hopefully I flush it all out by tomorrow. I'm itching to get to the gym tonight, it's such a weird feeling! I'm thinking about incorporating yoga into my off days, and focusing on core work too.

I had a great weekend and enjoyed a much needed girls night in. I went down to 152.4 on Saturday morning, but this morning I jumped up to 156 :s

Last week was my first week doing intermittent fasting, and it went really well! It helped me move the scale after not seeing any change for the past month. This is week 2 doing IF, and I'm confident I'll see movement again. I'm happy with it so far.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Discovered I lost 2 lbs this week. But it has been a very stressful week. My beautiful, funny, scatterbrained dog sadly passed away on Friday night which has devastated me. I knew I would lose her one day but I really had know idea how much of a hole she would leave behind. It's been very very sad in my home the past 4/5 days. Pet lovers out there will know what I'm talking about!

So, onward I go, very close to my goal now and thinking about what I do next.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
    I feel your pain.
It took us over 6years from our loss of our previous dog before we could adopt this new baby, Mei Mei - Chinese shar pei, who's snoring away in her crate right now.
    Time will help.

sorry: I don't know how to shrink the picture size.

Wow: 32# loss in less than 4months!!!

Was thinking that you're getting pretty close to goal, being so darn tall (totally jealous).
    Think about body recomposition.

Thanks Amanda, Aw Mei Mei is extremely cute!
My girl was was a beautiful brindle greyhound called Smiley, and she was long and leggy like me hehee. I've been told many times that, what people say about dogs and owners looking alike is true lol. I also have a white boy greyhound called Pub Dog Harry (his racing name which we liked, so kept it) and he's turned very sad since smiley died so he's been getting spoiled. He's a great comfort to have around though, it's good to cuddle up to a dog when you're grieving for a dog. I dread to think what it will be like when he goes!

Yes! This is what I'm thinking too. Something tells me that counting calories is a lot easier than trying to achieve this though. But I'm going to give it a good go.

    Just checking in...
Lost quite a lot the first 2 weeks (I only weigh myself fortnightly). I went on a 3 day boot camp to kick myself into shape and get into the mindset and lost about 5 lbs.
Disappointed to jump on the scales today and find I've maintained for the last 2 weeks, Never mind it's better than a gain!
I think it was the initial large loss coupled with a 40th Birthday party buffet last Friday which seemed to stretch into the weekend and, ahem, fish and chips and Inidan take-out, that stuck the needle on the scales -
Funny how one night of "I'll just eat what I want tonight it's a special occasion" can turn into "could extend it into 24 hours it's not much different to a night" then "well, I'll just have a bad weekend" before you know it you're drinking wine in the week, eating fried breakfasts and binging on McCoys crisps.
So back in the saddle and onwards, might sign up for a 10k this afternoon for some extra motivation :-)
Good luck to you all and
"keep on, push on!" (as my sports teacher would say) xx

    Happy Monday!

It's been a very slow and frustrating wk for me! No change in weight and if anything, I am extra bloated due to my cycle starting soon. Just ugh.

My win for the past week was sticking to my diet and making the right choices, even through the weekend and even at a restaurant!

My goal for this week is to continue with my eating focusing on macros!

Nice work everyone!! Your changes motivate me to trust in the process and keep at it!!

so I've been hiding because I'm NOT doing well.
No will power, no thought to what I put into my mouth.
    macros schmacros.

    I WILL take back control.
    It started tonight: no night-time snacking=day 1.

BUT tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo ==> margaritas after Zumba tomorrow night.
    Woohoo!
    Yes, I've already pre-logged it.

Oh dear, no loss this week. I hate no loss weeks! But if I'm completely honest with myself I have been very slack this week. I think it's some kind of mental thing as I don't have much more to go. I slipped into my old ways a bit! So I've got to get my head back in gear. Definitely deijavous! I'm sure I've said this before haha.

So it's Thursday and I am writing a post to keep myself accountable for the next couple days!! This week has been a huge struggle due to my cycle starting and a couple incidents where, out of nowhere(!!!) chocolate chip cookies attacked me!! :#

And I was so fatigued and dealing with cramps, I didn't make it to the gym since Monday. But today I WILL be responsible and make healthy food choices and get a workout in!

Btw, it's a lovely warm spring day in NYC and I just have to say- my favorite NSV is being able to wear a skirt without stockings and NOT having your thighs run together and give you a painful rash. I used to use a non-friction gold bond stick to put on my thighs, but they don't rub so much anymore!! Yay!!!

Keep up the hard work everyone!! It's almost Friday!!

    Jamie
