I'm in, as I'm training for my first Ironman 70.3 on 6/21 (plus 4 other shorter tris and a relay in July/Aug). I don't have set distance or time goals for training though....I just do what my coach tells me to do. LOL!

I'm up for this - I have promised myself that if I get out on my current bike regularly for a month, then I can consider it worthwhile buying a new bike.

    Target -
    Cycling - 10 hours
Walking (I have a friend who needs regular motivating with walks) - 50 miles
    Swim - 100 laps
    Dance class - 4 times

    No events planned yet.

    I'm SO in for this.

My HIM isn't until September and my race schedule doesn't have any Tris until June, but I've got a half marathon on Sunday, then a 5k with the kids running group I coach later in the month.
Hoping to do a trail running race, too, if I feel confident.

    Training goals:
    Bike: 300 miles
    Run: 75
    Swim: 12,000 yards
    Strength: 1x week
X-train (yoga and hiking, mostly): 5 hrs

my first triathlon will be the Virgin London Tri, doing the sprint (750/20/5). Our company have put a team of 22 in. I've been trying to persuade the company that actually, we NEED corporate tri-suits. We have a pro cycling team, with kit all resplendent in the company coluors/logo, and so should we. Other big companies will all be in team clothing. I drafted up a quick 'it could look like this', along with details of manufacturers.

Anyway, it's on and they've gone for it! Saves me spending out on a tri-suit.

Hopefully they'll act swiftly on this and we'll get them in plenty of time. And we'll look pro

    May -
    1st - rest

I've buffed my knee, feels like a bursitis. Not what I'd like with just over a week until a half marathon! Hopefully icing it in the evenings and keeping a knee support on it will calm it down. No training for me until that's eased up.

    - 10 miles on the bike (single speed beach cruiser)- trek to get my morning coffee.
    - 500 meter (approximately) OWS

Nursing a bum ankle and have a HM on Sunday. Fingers crossed it isn't something serious.

*sigh* OWS....oh, how I miss those. We have another 2-4 weeks before we'll be able to do any OWS here. :(

Bummer on the ankle...hope it feels better by Sunday :)

I'm from Ohio, just in South Carolina for the week. I'll have another month before it's warm enough to swim outside up there, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

I'm in; I'm not sure that I have any goals other than try to stick to what my coach gives me as closely as possible! I have a HIM in July, another in August, and IM Florida in November.

Today is a rest day! Unplanned, but it happens. Tomorrow is a long run, however. Look forward to chatting & accountability!

Need to recover from a marathon coming up Sunday, and switching to olympic tri training, so cutting back on the running and upping my biking miles this month.
Run: 100 miles (last month 145)
Bike: 500 miles (last month 325)
Lifting: 9 half-hour single-set until failure sessions (last month 9)
Swim: 5 miles (last month 0)

    5/1 - 30 min weights
    5/2 - 2 mile (final pre-marathon taper run)

Remaining: 8 weight sessions, 98 mile run, 500 mile bike, 5 mile swim

@ironmankat looking to try Florida next year as my first full IM, still, registration slots seem to disappear faster than a speeding cervelo... did you register on the first day, or did you take the charity/donation route?

Rest/ travel day today, supposed to be gearing up for tomorrow's HM, instead I'm in bed with a fever. I have the worst luck. Praying that it's just a fluke and I'm fine, but who knows. Here I was worrying about my ankle.
    Definitely won't be PRing tomorrow...

On the other hand, got another ten miles in on the bike yesterday after I posted.

    20/400 bike
    0/75 run
    500/12000 swim

Solid marathon today, PRing by 8 minutes over my last one in January.

@ironmankat good to know. I'll set a reminder to do the same. Just not quite comfortable pulling the trigger on a $750 race (although it is better than the $1400 for the charity entry), but triathlons aren't a cheap sport.

    5/1 - 30 min weights
    5/2 - 2 mile run
    5/3 - 26.2 mile run (3:44 time, 8:33 pace)

Remaining: 8 weight sessions, 72 mile running, 500 mile biking, 5 mile swim

    Nice marathon time!!

5/3: 7 hour ordeal involving me driving 50 miles to the start of my bike ride, a broken radiator, a frustrated Jeep mechanic and a tow truck to BFE. I did not get my ride in, but it was quite a day! Ugh....

    @ironmankat thanks!

Didn't get to race today, let's just call it an unscheduled rest day.

5/1 - unscheduled rest day...was supposed to do a 2K yard swim, but after a 12+ hour workday for month-end closing, I was exhausted, and my coach told me to just stretch and go to bed early (which I did)
5/2 - pre-race brick: easy 6.8 mile bike ride in 24:51 and a very easy 1.2 mile run with some pickups in 11:25 - total 36:16
5/3 - Mountain Goat Run - 10 miles and 531 ft of elevation gain in 1:44:56!

Well...I have blisters on top of blisters (I need new running shoes, but just didn't have time to get to the store before yesterday's race due to other time commitments)...but I am SO happy. I was aiming for under 1:50 (11 min mile pace), so sub 1:45 made my day! :) And although my blistered toes are sore today, that's all that is sore!! Woot! :)

    great job @gobonas99 & @Ohhim !

    May 4th - Cycling, 15.5km.

Did 4km messing around with my wee lad, then went out for an unplanned ride, did a further 15.5km. Just wanted to test the knee a little without putting it under too much stress. Average pace 26.1km/h, fairly happy. This was actually only my 2nd time out on the road since April 2012 - I suffered a spinal injury which very much ruled me out of any physical activity for a few years. Will want to see an avg over 30km/h for London Tri (August), but that's a flat route so i don't expect any problem there (unless the swim takes it all out of me)

Sorry, just caught the thread have some catching up here from the weekend.:

Super-sore still today from the marathon, but jumped in the pool to get in a bit of upper body only swimming with a pull buoy, as I figured the water would help my sore legs. According to my pedometer, I also managed to get in another 4 miles of (slow) walking from errands, etc... I'll lift tomorrow (and may swim again), but won't resume light jogging for another day or two.

    5/1 - 30 min weights
    5/2 - 2 mile run
    5/3 - 26.2 mile run (3:44 time, 8:33 pace)
    5/4 - 0.85 mile easy swim

Remaining: 8 weight sessions, 72 mile running, 500 mile biking, 4.15 mile swim

    May 4th - Cycling, 15.5km.
    May 5th - Swimming, 0.42km.

Spent a bit of time experimenting with balance in the water, and push/glide (superman flutter), before resorting back to my 'delayed drowning' breaststroke technique. Lessons begin tomorrow evening.
Walking to the pool and back revealed that the knee is still not so good. More ice.
