Help me find the courage (B&A pics)

Hello all!
I for one love to look at other before & after pictures. They always inspire me to keep moving forward! I'm so happy that I can finally post my own. I went from a lazy 205 pound couch potato to a 135 pound fitness nut in less than a year. So here's my dilema:
I can't bring myself to throw away my "fat" clothes! I know I never EVER want to wear them, so why can't I just get rid of them?!
Before September 2009 (I had a hard time finding a before picture since I would hide from the camera)
After May 2011

throw away (donate) your clothes NOW! One of the best ways to keep the weight off is to not have clothes to "grow" back in to!
Congrats on a fabulous job!0 -

i'm learning how to sew. So I can turn all my "fat clothes" into cute outfits for my little girl. And once I learn enough technique and creativity, maybe make something new out of the old for myself.0

Oh you inspire me so much! I'm 210lbs right now and seeing your after pic really gives me the motivation to keep going.
May I ask how long it took you to get to your goal weight?
Btw wonderful job!!!0 -
You look super! Don't throw them away, help someone else who could use them and that will make it easier. Go through freecycle, maybe you know someone personally, a homeless shelter kind of thing, or see if one of your MFP friends could use them. That's what I'm going to do with my old winter clothes next year. My MFP friends have helped me lose this weight maybe I can help one of them with my old clothes to help get them through that size:)0

You look Great!
Donate them to a local shelter or church and help someone in need out.0 -
Wow you look fantastic. Selling your clothes on ebay might help you part with them.0

Donate your clothes to maybe someone who is just reaching size 18...I think you will feel better giving them away knowing they will go to a good cause another great place is to donate directly to Battered Women Shelters...a lot of teen girls end up in those places with nothing but the clothes on their back....dont throw them away...your ratty old jeans may be someone elses next outfit.....good job on your success0

You look incredible! Great work!0

I was wondering this same thing. Why am I hanging on to my bigger clothes? I am now determined to toss them!
It's a good idea to hang on to skinny clothes though. Since I've lost 10 lbs, I am now able to fit into clothes I haven't worn in several years. Glad I kept them! Especially the "inspiration" outfit I had hanging where I could see it every day.0 -
I was the same way with my old clothes. I cleaned out all my fat clothes and put them in piles. Then I moved them to bags. Next they were moved to my spare bedroom. I finally got them to the car and drove around for a week before I donated them, It was all mental. In the past I held on to them because I have yo-yo so much, but not this time. You will get rid of them when you are ready but. I can tell you that I felt so good when I drove away from Goodwill. Also it was a great tax write off.0

You look great!!! How did you do it? Just started this. I weigh 215 and would like to be 140 again!0

Wow! You look great!
Definitely get rid of the clothes. Holding on to them leaves the door open that you may need them someday .0 -
Look at all those compliments you pretty girl! I'm so happy for you. You should be so proud, what a great accomplishment! Oh and we need to get together soon!0
-
You look amazing! You should be so proud of yourself for the job you have done. I would definitely donate the clothes to a nonprofit...there is always a need somewhere in your community.0

Totally agree - all my fat clothes have gone - I will not be using those again! I have kept my fat jeans though which I like to put on to remind me how far I have come so far!throw away (donate) your clothes NOW! One of the best ways to keep the weight off is to not have clothes to "grow" back in to!
Congrats on a fabulous job!0 -
What a GREAT idea! I'd like to do that with my "outgrown" clothing! Freecycle... that's cute!0

Throw them away, or better burn them. Old clothes make easy to slip back into old habits. A few years ago I weighed 318 lbs, I started a diet and exercise program on New Year's Eve and by the middle of August I was down to 195 pounds, and felt great. That was the week I went on vacation. I still remember the 1st cookie (Mrs. Fields) I ate after 8 months of no sugar. I slid back into those fat clothes easy peasy, always planning on next week. Now it is my thin clothes that are bagged up and have been for 20 years. I started last year at 320 and slowly reduced to 302, 3 weeks ago, when I started MFP I am looking forward to breaking out those thinner clothes and getting rid of my current ones forever. Don't look back, just keep moving forward.0
