I have been doing zumba with a girlfriend this month and LOVE it! its fun, and it makes you sweat without leaving you weak in the knees.
I had my first NSV yesterday too. .
my gf I zumba with came by to pick me up and after getting in she said "wow lindsey you ARE starting to lose weight!" lol not huge but she noticed even if she just said it to be nice, which I dont think she did cuz she looked sad to say it.
I'd love friends that motivate!0 -

I just joined this site a couple days ago, but I had already started losing weight. I just had a baby in March. I gained alot of weight during my pregnancy. I started out at 145lbs and ended at 225lbs. A week after brith I was 205lbs (my baby was 9lbs 2ounces) I am currently 186lbs and am looking to lose 56lbs. I am pretty excited to start working out, and eating right. I love that everyone on here is so supportive and helpful!!

Im focused now and by dropping 30+ im ready. I only dropped 29 while on this site but I was on WW (weight watchers). Im tired of having to cover up this stomach and worry if ppl are staring. By July I want to be looking even better and give ppl a more better reason to stare!!!!!!!!!!0

I have lost 40 lbs this yr, but gained a little bad on a vacation we had{wedding} I did Atkins, and hmm did well on it but then stalled, and decided it was time to get back to normal way of eating.... well, I just can't seem to drop a lb.... I just joined ww, to be more accountable, and hmm so far not doing well.
I am very frustrated I messed up my body by doing atkins....
I work out.. weights and cardio.. dvds etc... I am trying to step up the cardio... and get into a fat burning zone.{love hate thing with cardio lol}
I am getting married July 30th, and very stressed I am going to look bad in my dress... I am hoping to lose 20 lbs by then, 2 months... eek.
I work from home , so I can check in often, I am very committed to eating healthy and working out and really working on this more than a diet, but the rest of my life.

Wow I am so impressed with you ladies who have already lost so much weight already, will be great to get some tips from you all!
I feel so full of food tonight but apparantly still under my calorie allowance. I must have miscalculated somewhere. My hubby got a chinese takeaway tonight and I had a healthy dinner in the oven BUT i just had to have a few chips (fries) and a tiny bit of the fried rice. I feel SO guilty for it and it was such a hassle to calculate approx 8 chips(fries) on to my food diary. Really wasn't worth it - I'll put it down to a learning experience.
On the plus side i walked with my son in the pram for 5 miles and then later I started day one of the 30 day shred. I've joined the 100 mile June challenge over on the fitness category, so that will motivate me to get out there and walk/run/swim. I plan on doing a half hour run tomorrow morning when I get a bit of time.
Can anyone answer this question please - I am full, but because of my exercise, MFP has upped my calorie allowance a few times. I don't feel like eating more and don't want to just eat because it tells me. What do/would you do?
Feel free to add me as a friend, I also need all the support I can get.0 -

As far as eating calories, I have been reading about this all week, and have came to the conclusion. . do what you feel is right for you.
Some days eat them, some days dont. but ALWAYS eat 1200.
If you need to add calories try a glass of milk. thats what gets me to my goal on days I am under.
Or an apple is 90-130cal.
Maybe try eating mid day snacks (string cheese, apple, yogurt, exc) so you dont feel like your eating a ton at night to catch up.
anyways thats my two cents. :happy:0 -
Thanks Linz - I have been just under the 1200 most days, but not by much at all. Like the milk idea to up it to the 1200. I find it relaxing at bedtime too so a double benefit.0

Hi,
I think everyone does there own thing but personally i always mae sure my net calories are over 1200. If i want more to et i know i can but as long as i got over the 1200 im happy with that. Plus i dont feel guilty if i have a bar of chocolate then as its still within my calories as with exercise my daily can go up to over 2100+0
