I'm in (a few days late!)... Training for another half marathon this fall and running some shorter races in the meantime. I ran ~90 miles in June, so I'm aiming to top that this month--let's say 100 miles. I've done ~23.5 so far in July!

    July 02 - 3.3 miles
    July 03 - REST
    July 04 - 6.4 miles (10K + 0.2 warmup)
    July 05 - 4.3 miles (3.0 + 1.3)

    July Goal: 90 miles

After a lousy non existent start to the month of July, I finally got a run in last night :) with the long weekend and a much needed break I am determined to be back in the swing of things! I completed W5D1 of the zenlabs C25K and covered 2.08 miles during the run portion only.

This is where I ran this morning, I could run there from my hotel. It's a small park with a running/walking paved path about 3 people wide. It's in the middle of two streets like a grass center divider. At 6:00 (when the sun was coming up) there were a bunch of people young and old walking and running. I also ran a bit with the local high school boys cross country team. I couldn't keep up obviously ha ha. I did notice breathing a bit harder, then I thought I wonder what the difference in elevation is from home. Alabama 500 feet above sea level, where I ran in El Paso 3900 feet above. Here's a pix (not a good one but a pix) of where I ran. Tonight I'm going to try and drive out by the Rio Grande and run there.

@jimcrackindandy - ugh on the french fries
@ddmom0811 - I hate running and having to watch every step on the sidewalk or pathway, it messes up my stride
@7lenny7 you'll get hooked on that morning running
@kristinegift I feel your humidity pain - well not this week there's like no humidity here. It was 98 yesterday and I was driving with the windows down
@genoprice what an adorable little girl in your picture
@honunui glad you are feeling better
@shortmrsn oh no feel better soon

Rest day yesterday, so tons of posts to catch up!

    @Timby1 - Congrats on the 10k!
@7lenny7 - I am not normally a fan of waking early, but running at 5am is a very nice thing in the summer, I am noticing. I have found it a lot easier to wake early the last few weeks after suffering on the late morning runs when sleeping in.
@harryrarabrown - Nice pace on that 5k! I hope I can be that fast some day but I have no idea what to expect at this age moving forward.
@eyethree - Speed is purely relative. It was fast because it was your fastest time!
@Runninmischka - I can't imagine how you fit in all this time, running plus being a new mom. Hats off to you, superMom! How are you making sure you are rested??? I remember with our little ones, rest never happened for...well, never really at all for the first year, and for that matter I could still be better rested even today at their ages. Oh, and Go USA Women!!!
@JoRocka and @Daisy471 - Awesome to hear you are going for those half marathons!
@mwyvr - Congrats on the huge mileage...err...I mean kilometerage!
@Elise4270 - I never thought about the need for a "waistband" when running nude, but I could definitely see that being desired.
@skippygirlsmom - Glad you got to get out and run outside that hotel, even if it is a little bit thin air!
@briebee7 - That is really cool being able to run with your mom like that. Neither of my parents would be able to run with me, but my mom could bike wide circles around me for sure!
@shanaber - How is the knee?
@ShortMrsN - Heal up and we'll be waiting here for you next month!
@JimCrackinDandy - Been there, done that, and even ate the cookie. Those are tough runs.

Easy 6 miler to kick off a repeat of last week (that's the plan at least).

    7/1 - 12 miles
    7/2 - 6 miles (18 miles total)
    7/4 - 16 miles (34 miles total)
    7/5 - 12 miles (46 miles total)
    7/7 - 6 miles (52 total)

    Goal 200 miles

After battling shin splints and a host of other leg pain the entire month of June, I took a week off from running and am coming back in July with a slightly lower goal. I realized I may have pushed a little hard and a little too soon last month.
Here's to a healthy and productive July.

    7/6 ... 2
    7/7 ... 6.5

    39/150 goal

I feel for you all in the humitity! We are having weird weather on the coast here in CA with some humitity. Nothing compared to other parts however we are all still complaining. lol

@Runningmischka - GO USWNT!!!! My family and I are all huge soccer fans. My oldest daughter is 5 and I loved being able watch the tournament with her.

@WhatMeRunning - I love running with my mom! She has been slowed by medical issues the last few years however she is still an amazing runner. I feel very fortunate to get to share running adventures with her.

@ShortMrsN - hope you feel better soon! Yuck

@skippygirlsmom - I am very impressed with all the runs you are getting in while traveling!

    July 1 - rest
    July 2 - 5
    July 3 - 10.5
    July 4 - rest
    July 5 - 14.3
    July 6 - 5.2
    July 7 - 7.6

    Total - 42.6

Today's session was "speed work" which I absolutely sucked at. My average pace ended up being 6:05 due to me going out too fast then having to shuffle back LOL. Next week will be better!!!
