Felt better today so I broke in those new Brooks that arrived yesterday. Ran the same route I took a year ago today when I first started running. Although at that time it was my regular walking route and on that day I did a lot more walking than running. No walking today though.

    7/1 - 12 miles
    7/2 - 6 miles (18 miles total)
    7/4 - 16 miles (34 miles total)
    7/5 - 12 miles (46 miles total)
    7/7 - 6 miles (52 total)
    7/8 - 12 miles (64 total)
    7/9 - 6 miles (70 total)
    7/11 - 16 miles (86 total)
    7/14 - 6 miles (92 total)

    Goal 200 miles

Oooooh such a terrible run today. I'm on antibiotics for an eye infection and apparently, they're dehydrating me or something because I can't drink enough water, I'm cramping all over, and just generally feeling awful after my run this morning. Oh well. I might wait until the end of the week and I'm off the meds to go for another run and opt for some indoor cardio instead.

@7lenny7 Thanks for all the amazing ideas, but flight troubles yesterday left me with not enough sleep and a horrible 'fueling' situation (I usually eat 6 small meals, yesterday was pretty much only 1 big one) so i didn't get to try any of them. I will give it a go next time I'm in town. As it was I ended up jralking 6 on the treadmill this morning. (Note: jralk is my own creation - a combination of jog/run/walk).

Miss a day or three and and no chance of catching back up in this thread. I guess that's a good thing though, everyone is out getting fit :)
Slowly getting back to running. Shin pain is gone but now I have bad calf pain. I can roll it out and stretch it but its very irritating to run on.
Good news is I finally upgraded from the FR10 to a shiny new FR225. Very nice watch, does everything I wanted and then some. Very happy with my purchase :)

7/1 - took the 0-fer today after taking my wife to the ER at midnight, I slept in :/
7/2 - 5 miles on a perfect morning for a run in DSM...you all should be jealous!
    7/3 - 4 miles
7/4 - 7 miles, visiting in-laws, partial "trail run" through road construction
    7/5 - rest day
7/6 - 3.1 miles; planned for 5 but got completely washed out by huge rain
7/7 - seem to have got a summer cold...slept in, no run
7/8 - getting worse...ugh! May be a sinus infection. Nothing worse than being sick in the summer!
    7/9 - still sick...blah.
7/10 - heading out of town for a baseball tournament...still have a cold.
7/11 - FINALLY! 3.5 miles on hotel treadmill (22.6 for month)
    7/12 - more baseball...son's team won 9 year-old state championship! Woo hoo!
7/13 - 4 miles at 5:00 a.m., 81° and humid...air you can wear (26.6 for the month so far). Will catch up with everyone's weekend later today.
7/14 - 5 miles, still pretty hot, but not as humid as yesterday. Because of all the missed days from illness, adjusting my goal down to 100.

As a (mostly) lurker around here, I just wanted to give a shout-out to @kimr41 - I love that you're just poking your head up occasionally and posting up some miles! Keep at it - I know it looks intimidating sometimes to see the mileage some of these folks post up, but I hope you're seeing that they're also some awesome and helpful people to boot. I call myself a runner, but mostly I'm just addicted....

Driving half way home to Florida today. Dreading the weather when I get back home. It's been really hot down there!

@7lenny7 - you are "Minnesota Nice"! (for all your replies about the MN trails!) My son went on a trip to MN a few years ago and he heard the term and said it was so true. Then my daughter had a roommate from MN in college and she and her family were the same.

When I was in NYC the past week I would give a wave or nod to the runners I passed and no one would even look at me. Here in VA, and when I get home in FL, that's just the standard. People give a wave back or wave first. I just kept on waving and smiling at people to see if anyone would respond - a couple did!

The past 6 months of life caught up with me today and this was me this morning. I can't remember the last time I honestly just could not get out of bed to run.

    @mmabry72 love the new Garmin!
@melaniefave41 he was in the military when we met so being gone long periods of time isn't unusual, but this is the longest. He was here in May for 10 days so that was good. It was actually harder when he would be gone a few months because everything just stopped until he got back. But with him being gone a year you just keep doing what you need to do.
    @toriraeh sorry about your eye
@7lenny7 okay I had to laugh out loud when I read Thankfully it was as humid as predicted. that's just crazy talk. I think you are as crazy from the heat as @elise4270 's Garmin.
@whatmerunning isn't it great to do an old route and just conquer it!
@jorocka you go with your hills!

    7/2/2015 3.76
    7/4/2015 8.29

    7/7/2015 2.47
    7/8/2015 4.89
    7/9/2015 4.1
    7/10/2015 1.52
    7/11/2015 10.29

I grew up doing that in CA and also in VA... so here it's weird I catch myself smiling or saying hi- or good jog here in NJ and people look at me like I"m crazy- or they just seriously don't make eye contact.
Yes- the struggle of being a friendly runner!

Don't feel bad taking the day off Miss @skippygirlsmom . You're such an inspiration here. You're allowed to take a day off. Rest up and you'll be back stronger tomorrow!

This turtle ran with ocean views today....made the 10000s of steps and hills (okay, maybe not that many, but a lot of them) that were included a little easier. I think this is going to be my path for a while and see if I can build on strength....
