Successes/struggles this week:.
Well this week wasn't great on the scale, despite me exercising every day and being under my calorie goal. I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate because shark week is fast approaching and I always get bloated before it. I hope that's why I didn't lose much. That said, I remember from the last time I tried this that I tend to have barely any scale change for a few days and then suddenly drop 2 pounds so maybe I'm just building up for a big loss. Even if this IS accurate, I'm still happy because I made some major exercise improvements this week (not getting as tired from things, increasing intensity, etc.)
Even if the loss is little, better down than up, right?0 -

Successes/struggles this week: Today I hit the goal weight I had set for Aug. 1st! I'm excited to have lost so much in the first two weeks of my diet. I've decided to set a new goal weight for Aug. 1st of 219. I believe I've been successful so far by keeping my calorie intake at or below my allowance (low carb/high protein) and trying to get in at least some sort of exercise each day - mostly walking. Things have slowed down since last week, but I expected that because of the big water weight loss at first. I've been preparing and logging my food ahead of time and if I get too hungry (usually at night) I have enough calories built in to allow for a Greek yogurt, which is like a desert treat. The thing that has helped the most at night is drinking decaf teas. The flavor of the teas seems to satisfy me, and it keeps my water intake up.
Here's to a great second half of the July challenge, everyone!!0 -

I'm delighted to see your mid-month progress reports coming in.
Tomorrow is my birthday, and I would love to ask a tiny gift from each of you: Please, if you would, take a moment to share something special from your journey so far - Your best tip, something that surprised you, your happiest moment to date...
You all are so inspiring!

Happy Birthday!
All the changes that started happening when I started trying to get in shape surprised me. I had tried dieting and getting in shape before but I stopped after about 2 months. So I was aware of some changes, but I wasn't very diligent about working out, so I don't think I got the full effect. I'm now working out every day and haven't missed a single day since I've started. Tomorrow will be 2 months, exactly, since I started.
Two things happened to me since I started which surprised me. First, I'm much more flexible than I was 2 months ago. Part of that, I'm sure, is that I don't have so much gut in front of me hindering my movements, anymore. Part of it, though, I think is thanks to yoga. I do yoga every Saturday for an hour. That was another thing I was surprised at: what hard work yoga can be. My introduction to yoga was on Wii Fit, which is mainly focused on balance and individual poses, so my preconceived notion was that it was a very light form of workout. However, by the time I'm finished with yoga every Saturday, I'm very sweaty and tired.
Second, I noticed that I have a much higher pain tolerance, now. In the grand scheme of things, it's probably still not terribly high, but to me it feels worlds different. I don't recoil wildly anytime something spatters on the stove, anymore. Minor bumps and running into things don't practically floor me like they used to. And I know this sounds like very wimpy stuff. I might have an overall low threshold for pain. But the point is, I can actually tolerate and for some stuff don't even feel it anymore. It's really awesome. The best part is that it helps me to push through tough workouts.
So, I hope you liked my story and I hope you have a great birthday and enjoy your day!0 -

Successes/struggles this week:
***Struggles - My initial motivation to exercise and eat better started to wane last week, so I only exercised 2 days and had a REALLY bad day (had already eaten a healthy dinner and then went out for pizza with my husband...my 1000 cal deficit ended up being quite a surplus instead).
***Success - Despite a bad day and an expected gain, I got up the next morning and didn't let one bad day get me down. Ended up with a good loss for the week and a bit of renewed motivation. Just finished renovating our extra bedroom into a workout room - elliptical machine is already moved in and ready to go!0 -

@SeriouslySta
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
To a rare flower!
May the sun always shine on your parade!
What I discovered on my journey to today
It was such a joy when I pulled back the bedclothes one day and realised that I had ankles again.
I was delighted on another day when I went shopping for clothes to discover that I was 3 sizes smaller.
Being able to walk without constantly having to sit down is great.
Most of all, I discovered that the support of people like you on MFP make this whole process a pure joy.
Wishing you Happy Birthday! is a pleasure.0 -

I don't understand. I'm definitely (unless the calorie count for Chik fil a is off by like 700 calories) not eating over my calorie limit -- continuing to hit under goal. I am doing CrossFit five times a week. I weigh in this morning at the same weight as last week and want to crumple up and give in. I just don't understand why.

Week 1
Weight lost/gained this week: -2.4 lbs
Weight lost/gained this month: -2.4 lbs
Successes: still losing weight!
Struggles: rate has slowed down since starting MFP in January of this year, mainly due to being more realistic about food choices and more lenient with cheats. I've learned that keeping off the wright is a lifestyle choice and I'm not doing myself any favours by restrictions and trying to kick my own *****. I still feel down about things when I have a cheat though, the guilty struggles are real! Still staying very motivated and positive.
Week 2
Weight lost/gained this week:-2.2
Weight lost/gained this month:-4.6
Successes:Still losing weight, sometimes to my surprise!
Struggles: Had one bad night where I suddenly found myself at a pizza joint, ordered a medium pepperoni (8 slices) and destroyed it in 30 mins and felt bad afterwards. However, was good for the next 3 days and posted a surprising loss on my gym weigh in day.
