Is sex a good cardio workout? If it is how many calories would 30mins burn? And how many would 60mins burn?
And the amount at different rates?
Slower? (But NOT romantic slooww)
fast/hardcore? (But NOT wierd hardcore)
Thanks for your answers. Sorry i didn't have any one else to ask so I'm asking MFP community.
(Not intended to be nasty, just human curiosity, we all do it)

It counts as your normal daily (if you're lucky) activity.

if youre counting sex as exercise you are soooooo doing it wrong.
and the calorie burn is minimal.0 -
Beds should have a calories burned meter mounted to the headboard.0

The search feature is your friend. A quick search and you'll see this topic has been asked and answered 42,855,812 times in the last month. And the answer is no.
But how are we defining "Weird/hardcore"? Asking for a friend.0 -
The search button here will turn up lots of posts with this exact question, and your answer is no, sex does not burn enough calories to log. Plus, it is a regular life activity and is already included in your activity level. 'nuf said.0

It depends. I have had partners who just lay there. Literally. That means zero calories for them, 2500 for me.0

Wear a heart rate monitor.0

How long and hard are you going at it? It's funny what people say can and can't be counted, even though you're putting in just as much effort as if you were out running, or at the gym!! If I put in the effort, I'm counting it, I don't care what others have to say.0

it was a discussion that me and my friend where having so I thought I would ask. What we where thinking is that when your having sex, you hold in your core and engage a lot of different muscles? not to mention the different positions I could see it being a good calorie burn. (unless your lazy and just lay there lol) it was on the woman health page saying the different things that burn calories. and I was just wondering others opinions on it.0

I doubt it burns any significant amount of calories. And don't be fooled into thinking if you sweated a lot during sex that means you've burned a lot of calories.. it doesn't.0

http://www.livestrong.com/article/297695-how-many-calories-are-burned-during-sex/

yea that's what I'm saying! of course I'm not going to be posting my daily sexual activity on here. but I know daily sexual activity makes my muscles sore, like my core muscles and my legs and back lol something has to be getting a workout to create soreness0 -

But is that person going at it top speed for those 45 minutes? And does that include the BMR? Most people aren't going jack-rabbit fast for 45 minutes and if they are, I need their numbers.0 -

But you had sex before you wanted to lose weight, no?0 -
Increased heart rate does not equal increased calorie burn, regardless of what your heart rate monitor says. And live strong is not a credible source for information.0

Who has sex for 45 minutes? After 10, I've got mine - if you didn't get yours, grab a sock and some lotion.
This isn't something I'd log. And IMO the link above has a grossly overrated burn.0 -
