    Start Weight (1st July):83.5 kg
Goal Weight (1st August): 80.5 kg

my birthday is 16th of August, by then I want to weigh below 80 kg. If it happens before that day, fine with me!

    1st July: 83.5
    6th July: 83.2
    15th July: 82.9
    22nd July: 82.3
    29th July: 82.3
    1st August:

Weight lost/gained this week: lost 0
Weight lost/gained this month: lost 1.2

Start: Successes/struggles this week: I really liked the June Challenge as it made the overall tendency more visible. Early May was when I started here on MFP and there is some progress. I am very happy about it! I weigh myself daily but obviously there are fluctuations, so with the weigh-ins here it is easier to notice a general direction. Was hoping to start July with half a kg less, well, no. Still, I start July with 3 kg less than June, so HURRAYH!

Week 1: No exercise this week, I have been ill and it is really hot so I feel rather weak. Weather changing now and a cold can only last so long so I hope for a change next week. Also a bit of a motivational low as I am exhausted and tired in general so I am giving in to stupid snacks a bit too often.

Week 2: went to gym a couple of times and that was great. last weekend was bad though, party - food, drinks... and the day after with lots of carbs and pizza. had planned swimming yesterday and couldn't go because of dentist emergency. frustrating as I miss my regular swim classes a lot! on the bright side: there is a tiny loss and I am healthy again. I feel my motivation is back and so I am usually less in danger to make stupid choices. 4 day visit to my parents coming up - might be tricky but I feel strong enough not to fall into old traps.

Week 3: went to gym only once (but a good one ;-) ), no proper exercise but lots of moving and playing with my kids at the grandparents' garden. I was down at 82 before and gained a tiny bit during our stay. I am still under 83 - my magic barrier I couldn't cross for so long - and I am highly motivated. I can see my body changing (other people can, too!) and I feel rather relaxed about reaching goals at a certain time. It is a lifestyle change after all and I am planning to live a long life, no rush.

Week 4: was at the gym twice, swimming twice and - with 2 exceptions - fairly good with my calories. was down at 81.8 for 3 days, yeah! then I had a bad meal last night (it looked nice and lean on the menu but it must have been full of sodium and secret fat). still feel slightly sick and bloated and frustrated as it was not even great. It made me gain half a kg and now I am grumpy! I hope there will be some weight coming off the next 2 days...

    July challenge:

    Name: Jen
    Age: 42
    Height: 5'1"

    Start Weight (1st July): 171.6
    Goal Weight (1st August): 162

    1st July: 171.6
    8th July: 170.2
    15th July: 167.8
    22nd July: 167.6

    1st August:

    Weight lost/gained this week: -2.0
    Weight lost/gained this month: 6.0

    Successes/struggles this week:
WEEK ONE: Had a good week. Have been struggling to workout after working ten hours a day. Have to work thru that. Waking up early is not an option considering I'm already up at 4 AM for work.

WEEK TWO: Bought a Fitbit and allowed it to track my calories. Had a good week this week. Didn't splurge too much. Keep telling myself to buckle down but it's hard. Chocolate is my downfall. I keep craving it but don't want to. Gotta figure that one out.

    Goals met:
1.) I can wear my wedding band again!

WEEK THREE: Only two ounces?? Ugh! No cheat meal this week then and add more time to my workout.

Goal for this week: 3-4 lbs. Must do this to get back on schedule.

WEEK FOUR: Didn't get completely back on track but did lose goal of two pounds. Need to keep at it.l

1st July: Eek! 187 lbs (Typically average 184, so I wonder about water weight....)
    8th July: 185.6
    15th July: 184.8
    22nd July: 181
    29th July: 185.6
    1st August:

Weight lost/gained this week: +4.6 lbs (Hmmm...don't believe this is a TRUE gain)
Weight lost/gained this month: -1.4 lbs

Successes/struggles this week: I'm going to start by saying, I think my weight "gain" is a fluke, and not be hung up on that. While the scale doesn't seem to be interested in cooperating, I feel like I've had some good things come about this week.....Successes: Got in a run over the weekend, and it was great! Wish my knee wasn't in pain, otherwise I probably would have run a lot longer. I also have been sticking to my "beverage challenge" and drinking 100 oz. of water per day (possibly more for some days). Today starts the next week of drinking 120 oz. per day, so I'm eager to see how this continues to effect my system.

Struggles: I have struggled this past week with my scale fluctuating big time. And it's making me crazy! In the past two days it's taken A LOT for me not to start shoving my face and say "screw it!" to my healthy habits. I felt defeated. I have to keep things in perspective about where I came from and know that trying to make it to my goal weight with the last 10 pounds is the hardest part of the journey. I'm gearing up for a 6 week weight training program that I'm hoping will be what I need to whittle things down and see those last few pounds start coming off.

I have already achieved my mini goal for the month and hit my second goal of being 255 by August 1st :D ! I'm so proud of myself. My next milestone is 253lbs (I'm hoping for when I do my weigh-in Aug 1st....which would mark 25 total pounds lost since I started my journey. That would be 25% of the way to my goal of loosing 100lbs! :-D

    1st August:

Weight lost/gained this week: -0.8 lbs
    Weight lost/gained this month: -3.6lbs

Successes/struggles this week: I went on a short road trip this weekend, and while I kept under my calories every day but one, the food I ate was quite salty, so when I weighed in on Monday, I had a 3 lb water weight gain. Knowing exactly what it was, I didn't get discouraged, but I was curious if I would drop it by today for the challenge weigh in. Looks like I did! Getting in actual workouts was hard as well, but we did a TON of walking (doubled and tripled my step count from normal days) and did some swimming one night as well in the hotel pool, so I wasn't sitting around like a bump on a log. :)

I highly doubt I'll be able to make my goal by Saturday, but that's okay. Almost 6 pounds in a month is a stretch for me.

Successes/struggles this week: Well it wasn't much of a loss, but with it being my tom and all, I'll take it. I let myself have one big eating day when I was especially emotional and I've had some trouble since because that day triggered major sugar cravings for days afterwards, but I think I'm over it at this point. Going out-of-town this weekend so will probably have a small week again next week. Looks like I'm not hitting my goal for this month, but I've learned a lot about myself and I think I can set a more realistic goal for next month. See y'all on the August challenge!

    29th July:167.8
    1st August:

Weight lost/gained this week: -.2 lbs
    Weight lost/gained this month: - 4.2 lbs

Struggles this week: I had a couple of rough days when it was just incredibly hard to not eat everything in sight. I found that my danger time is not PMS, but rather the ovulation time. I am irritable and hungry at that time, and that's what happened this week. I will not be able to reach my goal, but I will be at a lower weight than when I started this challenge.

Successes this week: Fortunately, I regained my balance after the week-end. I am in a happy place now in terms of nutrition and exercise. I did lose a little weight, and am expecting a drop in the next couple weeks after my period. If I keep losing at a current rate - it's still 1 lb per week, and I'm happy with it. I had raised my bar very high, but even though I didn't conquer it, I'm losing pounds at a healthy rate.

    1st August:

Weight lost/gained this week: 0.6 kg
Weight lost/gained this month: 4.3 kg

Successes/struggles this week: I don't feel like I've lost that much this week and while I realize that half a kilo is a considerable amount for one week, it still feels like not enough. Especially compared to how much I've lost in previous weeks. I think I may be hitting a point where my results are tapering off a bit, which I expected. It always goes fastest at the beginning, right? But it's harder to deal with now that it seems to be happening. I guess I have to accept that I'm not gonna be losing 4kg/month, but more like 2 from now on. But, I mean, as long as I'm losing, right? I also think I've become very short sighted. Like right now. More focused on the fact that I've only lost .6 kg this week that it's hard to acknowledge that I've lost over 4 this month and completed my goal in half the time. So, yeah. Perspective, I guess. Perspective is my struggle this week.

    July challenge:

    Name: Jen
    Age: 42
    Height: 5'1"

    Start Weight (1st July): 171.6
    Goal Weight (1st August): 162

    1st July: 171.6
    8th July: 170.2
    15th July: 167.8
    22nd July: 167.6
    29th July: 165.6

On week 3 you actually lost 3.2 oz (there are 16 oz in a lb, not 10, and you lost 2/10 of a pound). I hope this makes you feel a little better about that week :) You're doing a great job, keep it up!!
