    Greetings, I'm in. 10k steps at least 5 days a week and at least 4 cups of water a day....

    Sounds like a great idea. :) Usually I walk 10k a day cause of work (M-F), and I've been going to the gym 2-3 times a week to jog. Just started kickboxing, which will be Wednesday and Friday. My goal is to head to the gym a couple times a week in between Friday and Wednesday so I can keep up momentum, but not overdo it so I won't get injured. :s

    hello friends! I can't believe august has come around already - i keep having to force myself to ignore all of the "back to school" ridiculousness i see each time i go to target.

    KristiSchales we each make our OWN PERSONAL GOAL. Mine was 120 miles last month. I missed it by 10 miles.

    MY PERSONAL GOAL for AUGUST is 120 Miles...

    Up early. Out the door. Took the girls on a 2.50 Mile walk, dropped them off at home and walked on. Today I have in 4.5 Walking miles.... :)

    AUGUST 1st.......4.50 Walking miles...

    lol Steve. I'm asking myself HOW you have time for anything else but ride that bike! lol

    Today I got up early so I could walk the girls before Church Services. Later after lunch another walk but it got hot and I'm tired now. All in all it was a good day though...4.0 walking miles

    TOTAL thus far August 2nd: 8.50 Walking Miles...

    I want in. My walking goal for August is 30 miles. I have 4.709 miles done already and 105 minutes. My miles are mostly done on a treadmill. (My goal is low because I just started walking on July 11th. My goal for July was 15 miles. Just wanted to go up a little.)

    8/2 29.57 miles, road bike, rode the Tour De Denver ride today, Denver Indiana that is. 2 hr 09 min.

    Depends on if the rest of the month is going to have more 6hr long bike rides or races. It's awesome that you're already halfway there. :)

    My goal ... to move more than I did in July!!


    Aug 1 - chilly (9C) and windy (30 km/h gusting to 57 km/h) with a "feels like" temp of about 5C and a little blast of sleet just to keep things interesting.

    And we cycled 38.5 km up the cycleway and back on our Thorn touring bicycles.

    Aug 2 - 2 km walk + 45 minutes swimming ... first time I've gone swimming in a long time!

    Aug 3 - 0.5 km walk ... snowed in here! First time in 29 years, my part of the world got snow ... right down to sea level. There was snow on my beach!! Roads were closed ... couldn't get out of our area.

    @ Farren- don't think that will happen. I knew I had a big ride on Saturday so I took my goal from last month of 200 to 300 this month. Rest of the month will be the norm 12 - 25 mile rides.
    @ Jeannie- I usually don't but I wanted to do the Down and Back Panhandle organized ride. The weather was so nice when I started I decided to take the day and make it a me day. Wanted to get a century but the wind came up in the afternoon and didn't quite make it.

    Right, time to move on from last month!! Am keeping to the same targets for August - that way if I blow it out of the water I'll feel especially good!!!

    Have started the month well, with a couple of short walks on Exmoor, a ride on a water-balanced funicular railway and the watching of a daft raft race accompanied by some fine beer. And a bit of sunburn. Have a Lindy Exchange coming up next weekend so while I won't be walking much I'll sure as hell be MOVING!!!!

    Totals
    Cycling - 80 miles
    Walking - 50 miles (8 miles out of that so far)
    Swim - 100 laps
    Lindy Hop class - 4 times

    Total mileage target - 130 miles

    However, I rather doubt a century is going to happen again this month for me either ... not the way the weather is going. Maybe in September. :grin:

    Today my husband was off so I spent time with him. We did get a walk in with the girls...3.5 walking miles...
