Drink more Water
"Water is an essential component of calorie burning and it helps flush out any excess sodium and fluid you may be hanging on to. Plus a recent study found that adults who simply gulped two cups of water before meals enjoyed a major weight loss benefit; they shed 40 percent more weight over a 12-week period while following a reduced calorie plan. The same group of scientists previously found that subjects who drank two cups before meals naturally consumed 75 to 90 fewer calories, an amount that could really snowball day after day.
The truth is it’s normal for your weight to ebb and flow, so don’t panic if you see slight ups and downs. Plateaus can be broken and most weight fluctuations are due to changes in water weight, stored carbohydrates, or waste that hasn’t been eliminated from your body yet. Rather than getting caught up in the numbers try to focus on how you feel. If you’re consistent you’ll continue moving in the right direction." SM0 -
I'm going to change my dates a little as I started my new lifestyle change July 20th and have it very well documented I weigh myself only on Mondays so I don't get to discouraged by the ups and downs through the week. It definitely works for me..

Seriously, I had a really rough week last week and this weekend I got together with my family. Even with lots of healthy food I still went WAY over calories on Saturday! Sunday I got back on track and took a 2 mile walk on top of my 4 miles I had put in just around the house. Goal for next week is -2.0 -

Hi guys, everyone is doing so well. I love this thread, I don't think I've ever posted this long. Sadly my enthusiasm is dipping a bit and I'm finding it harder to refuse the treats at work and home.
Any who here is my update:

I'm am pleased I have managed to shift 2 of the 3lb I put on last week. There are soo many events at the moment, it is very hard to be good. I'm away this weekend for my mil 50th birthday so just hope I can stay the same, if I could lose another lb I'd be chuffed.0 -
"When it comes to shedding pounds, slow and steady wins the race. While fad diets may lead to rapid weight loss, these restrictive plans are hard to stick with, and the weight inevitably creeps back once you fall off the wagon. As you've heard time and time again, achieving weight loss you can maintain requires a permanent lifestyle change.
This is often easier said than done. Committing to a healthy diet and fitness regimen can be a challenge, especially when you don’t see the meaningful results you're hoping for in a relatively short period of time. To keep you motivated and working toward your goal journal your food and exercises. Be patient and give it your 100 percent every day. "EH

I have been super busy working in my garden pulling grass and weeds and cultivating vegetables for this Saturday. This will be the second week to participate in the Farmer's market. Last Saturday was fun, sold out in 2 hours, got some good advice from fellow growers made new friends and bought some food to boot. Made $45 for 2 hours of "work".
In addition to that, I got in 4 gym workouts, including 51 miles. My birthday is tomorrow, I will be 54 and I feel so much better about myself this year due to all the changes I've instituted. 54 will be a great year!0 -

Not as good as I would like, but at least the scale is still moving in the right direction. I'm keeping my exercise up, but its still mostly cardio. I've noticed a big improvement in just the past two weeks with my endurance. I definitely feel like I'm getting in better shape even if the numbers aren't dropping to where I want yet.

Ever notice that when you exercise in the morning, you feel more alert and productive all day? It’s no coincidence — a morning workout has several advantages for your body and your mind. First, exercise jump-starts your metabolism, and keeps you burning calories at a higher rate all day. Also, you get your exercise out of the way and don’t have to worry about not having time for your workout routine, should something unexpected come up during the day. EH0 -
