Welcome welcome! Loving all the new walking folk! remember, it's not the speed, it's the distance, and their is no harm starting off short distances and building on it. Slow and steady wins the race0 -
I would like to be in the group. I am starting out walking 2-4 miles a day, 6 days a week, and working up.0
-
Count me in! I've been on a walking kick lately and this will be a great way to stay motivated0

Welcome also, I use map my walk as it syncs with my fitness pal and gives you weekly and monthly summaries of how far you've walked. x0 -
I'm in this challenge.0

I am happy to join! I'm using mapmyride and walking most days, and aiming for two or three good hikes each week. I'm in the white mountains so a lot of days its more about elevation gain than distance for me0
-
3.5 miles with 1284 ft elevation gain for the first of september. 11 weeks to ski season0
-
Welcome newbies and well done mark0
-
Would love to join you. Working on increasing distance. Doing 1.5 miles most days with 2 miles on the weekends. Working on getting to 3.0

30 minutes with Leslie Sansone. Also participating in an abs challenge found here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10244363/im-starting-an-abs-and-squat-challenge-if-anyone-is-interested-8-31-150

I have been tracking my walking for years. I have an Omron pedometer that I put in my pocket in the morning before I walk the dogs and transfer into whatever I wear all day and take it out of my pocket at the end of the day.
I injured something in my hip that has me ;under the chiropractor's care so my walking will be much less that usual for awhile.
Beecky, thanks for starting this challenge0 -

Welcome and well done on the morning miles! Great pace0 -
I'm new to all this. And I'm super excited to join in0
-
I've set a goal of 60km walking in September. (this is for "recorded walks" ie. not my daily total as measured by my Fitbit but the distance I walk when I actually mindfully go for a walk rather than just random stepping). I'm excited for September.0
-
I'm in ... Let's goooo0

I'm here again. Goal for September is 60 miles mostly treadmill walking.
Sept. 60 miles
9-1 3.015 miles 56 minutes
56.985 to go.0 -
This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but it’s nice when each month has its own thread.
*** Anyone can join in at any time. The more the merrier, let’s keep each other motivated****
Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in.
Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise every day, and keep an eye on each other.

Welcome everyone!! Great start for September! Please don't worry if you set a goal and do not meet it for any reason. Just keep moving as much as you can, try not to injure your body and limbs - something I'm good at , and be proud of any distance you do - it all adds up!0
