Confession Time! ((ABSOLUTELY NO JUDGEMENT))

I confess that I'm not a big fan of fish, never have been. But it is high in protein and good fats so in the interest of being an adult I have started to eat the non-fishier tasting ones. I also am getting kinda sick of soup for lunch every day so I decided to try tuna salad on a sandwich. Just in case I couldn't choke it down, I brought some pringles with my lunch today. I was thinking a tuna salad and potato chip sandwich (I guess I'm just not that good at adulting). Well the sandwich wasn't too bad but I still ate the pringles.
Which ones are those? I am also not a fan of fish.
Haddock is what I usually make at home but I've tried cod too and as long as its fresh, it's not too fishy. I asked around a lot and haddock is what most people recommended as least fishy tasting. I still haven't had the courage to try salmon.
We have tried Barramundi and it was not too bad - baked it with lemon. I just can't do salmon.0 -

I was really brave and tried salmon once, it was quite under done and I thought it tasted of earth. Not that I've eaten earth but the smell of mud is how salmon tasted to me...might sound weird but I can't explain it any other way0 -

I like tilapia. You can sprinkle it with minced garlic and parmesan, salt & pepper, then fry it till the parmesan gets crispy. I like to add a little bit of spicy seasoning to it, too. And I fry it in garlic-infused olive oil (best thing ever). Anyhow, even though it sounds horribly calorie-dense with the frying, it's really not bad at all. I eat it with a baked potato and some cottage cheese. Tasty!
I think tilapia is pretty mild - it's a fairly inexpensive white fish. In the States, you can get a package of frozen filets for pretty reasonable prices. Might be worth a try?

Oh goodness I didn't realize how many people didn't like fish! oh well more for me I love fish!0

If you can handle the smell and don't mind the sodium, I LOVE canned sardines.
But, I've always been really fond of fish. It's all I'd eat if a pound of tilapia weren't nearly five dollars.0 -

I love fish!! Guess we'll be heading to a seafood place when you come to visit, @LBuehrle8 . Mmmm... clam chowder.0 -
@rungirl1973 - how is your daughter doing now? I am a couple pages behind right now and heading out to do the last of my errands soon, but after my daughter left for school this morning, and I shed a few tears, my very next thought was your daughter and how she is doing......0

I do not eat fish unless it is in a shell (shrimp, lobster and crab only), or it is tuna and comes in a can so I don't 'know' it is fish......
ETA: I eat clams too, but only in New England Clam Chowder (and only a good quality one), and clams casino (of course, Italian style, lol).0 -

I like seafood and white fish, don't like 'fishy' fish or salmon. Or anything with bones, if I can help it. Usually I don't like fresh water fish for that reason.0 -

I agree with Jenni talapia is not fishy, and is a very mild white fish.0 -
*post date update*
first date #18
very "not much to write home about"
nice? sure.
looked like his photos? maybe 35 lbs ago (grrr)
had a few beverages, some idle chit chat.
kinda boring.
is he now texting me constantly? yep!
next....
I just want to say that I completely admire you going on these dates. I've always been such a coward and would be living a lonely life if my boyfriend hadn't 'groomed' me (his creepy description not mine!) I have never had the nerve to put myself out there to go out dating, and I feel like I've probably missed out on something by being so afraid. You very much remind me of a friend of mine whose outlook on life I also much admire (and who may I add -after many forays into the dating world - is now happily married with 2 beautiful children.) And as I'm sure other people have mentioned, sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs to find the prince. And you may as well enjoy the experiences in the meantime - I know I enjoy your updates! Oh, and as for the younger men - always worth a trial I think....
So... the 'groomed' expression kinds of creeps me out too. What is meant by that?0 -
I don't like messing with bones or exoskeletons. I really enjoy the flavor of crab legs, but it takes so long for me to get to the meat, it just isn't worth it.0

YES! This sounds fabulous!!0 -
I adore fish and seafood of all kinds. Well... I've yet to try sea urchin and some other sea creatures, but I love octopus and eel and oysters (things a lot of other people find disgusting for some reason).
Also I know I haven't really been in here for a while. I haven't been "feeling it." I guess I've been feeling down. Sometimes I want to vent on here but decide the better of it0 -

I just got back from visiting my boyfriend's family. They speak primarily in french and I still have not mastered fluency in french, even after living in Montreal for years and passing an advanced-intermediate class (I was probably THE worst person in that class). Even if I can understand what they say (if they speak slowly and clearly enough, which no one has time for), my brain just cannot form the correct words for ME to say, so I am left babbling like an idiot. With a red face, so everyone can see how embarrassed I am! French is difficult for me.Glinda1971 wrote: »FluffySandwich wrote: »I adore fish and seafood of all kinds. Well...
