Goal: no excessive after dinner snacking. Today was pita chips, roast beef, cheese and 5 m&m's. Not bad.0 -

This is a great idea! I'm down fall is the late night snack. I want to beat this and live to an old healthy age and loose a stone. No late night snacking chocolate. Only fruit!0

...sigh...
I went hiking out of town and planned all my food for the day, but didn't get in some snacks before dinner. So, on the way home around 10, I was hungry again because I'd only eaten around 1,100 calories for the day (aiming for 1,490). So, I ate those planned snacks, and then a few macadamia nuts when I reached home. I'm still pretty happy with last week's results. MUCH improved over the past couple of months. Here's to a new week long streak!0 -

Welcome to the many new faces! We're glad you've joined us. More voices are encouraging to all of us. And accountability is essential to all of us. (It's pointless to lie to us, but delusional to lie to yourself!)
It's important to me to know I'm not the only one with this…compulsion. When I'm tired, I'm most vulnerable. When no one else is around and I let down my guard, the compulsion is strongest. It never occurred to me how common a struggle this is, until I stumbled on this thread a month ago.

Ok. I'm in. this will be a really hard Challenge for me. Late night snacking is what prevents me from losing weight. I have the exercise, water, etc. down. It's all the extra calories at night that keep me where I am. Here we go:
No food after 8pm S,M,T,TH,F
No food after 9pm W and Sa
Just starting today Sept 8th. I would like to lose 5 lbs by Oct 1st.0 -

So far, so good! Partly because I'm on a weird schedule and eating a fairly late dinner, so I have no need for late night snacking, but knowing that I'm coming in here to keep accountable is helping.0 -

My snacking is worse late afternoon/early evening. But love this thread!

Successful strategy for me has been
1. Once dishes are washed after dinner i have a relaxing soak in the tub reading trashy magazines.
2. Flossing and brushing teeth.
3. Logging in my calories, even the little nibbles.
4. Read more threads on mfp
