June 2011-No late night/wise choice snacking

  • I always seem to find myself rummaging in the cupboards and fridge for something to eat late at night so what I find helps is when I make my breakfast smoothie I make twice as much and put a cup in the fridge for the evening. Then when I'm watching tv in the evening I have something to occupy myself with because its not that I'm hungry just that I'm craving.

There were times when I went cold turkey on this. Lately, I am just reasonable: I had an apricot and a nectarine after my cut-off, but I knew what I was doing (eating my fruit for the day), so that won't take my point away:

alison, again, this being tough just proves that it is necessary

I have a horrible time with this because of working night shift. Theres no rhyme or reason to night shift eating. So I guess if I only eat the lunch i brought and don't make a run for the vending machines does that count? When I'm home sometimes I just go to bed to avoid the LNS.

    so far tonight - me-1 LNS-0

    Good morning all-
    dewdrop, you're looking good!!:flowerforyou:
I started out that way, but then digressed during my 35th college reunion. Honestly, I forgot all about the challenge, but would have blown it anyway. The partying went on til 1 a.m. so...

I am totally ready to do this with you girls! I eat healthy the entire day, and then at night eat a few m&ms.... and a few more... and a few more... Due to the fact that my calorie intake is so low throughout the day, my snacking doesn't make me go over my calories too much... But I havent lost any weight and I know its due to my late night snacking, because if I just stick to what I ate throughout the day, there is no way that I wouldn't lose weight! Also, I just need to cut out sweets to be healthier!! What is the point of eating really well throughout the day if i'm just going to mess it up throughout the night! Or what is the point of exercising if i'm just going to put crap into my body anyway!!!... So tonight I will start the tallying! I'm excited =)

Still ahead, but need to get a bigger margin this week.
  • This is a terrible issue for me! Not only do we often do family movies nearly every night (in which there are 1-2 snack collections) but I STILL come out in the night to eat. Last night it was an entire 1/4 bag of baked potato chips and dip! Not to mention I had wheat thins with cheese/pick a peppa AND a cup and half of ice cream with the movie too :noway: I'm afraid to step on the scale after this past week, my late night snacking has been downright horrendous!
Therefore my challenge will be to finish eating by movie time or 8:30pm, whichever comes first . At movie time I'm only allowed one light drink to sip on (Select 55 or Mike's Light Hard Lemonade or wine) that must come out of exercise and can only be eaten at the start of the movie (no snack breaks for me!)
So if I were to be honest so far this month:

Alright LNS, get ready to receive no mercy!

This is totally my problem too - I just had a good few days of sticking to my plan, only to blow it at midnight tonight with popcorn. Darn PMS!! It seems to sabotage my willpower every month. Anyone found any solutions to this?

Me: 6 - LNS: 1. We have guests this week,so cut-off is dinner with them, probably half of hour later than my usual cut-off (that's why I gave me the point for last night).

Well, I'm going to do another 0.5 point each as I had my usual fruit, yog, baked crisps and chocolate bar after my dinner as my dessert but then I also had a hob-nob bar .... but within 10 minutes and then went the rest of the night without anything.

Last night was my "wise choice snacking"as I hadn't eaten enough and so I just had fruit for dessert later with kids instead of ice cream. The cool thing? When they were given the choice of fruit or ice cream, they both opted for the fruit. Yeah! So two successes in my book.
