I walk my dogs, so every day is a walking day for me.

Walked. 4 1/2 miles again this morning. I am using map my walk to know how far I go, but the calories burned seem way too much. Anyone else have this problem.?0

Projected calorie burns are notoriously unreliable... If you are concerned best to lowball & eat back only 50-75% of what was given.0 -
3.02 km today in about 39 minutes lol...I thought it was a 4km walk0

28672 steps today, or about 12.4 mi...
Got them in 3 outings. First was a fast 5 miler in my neighborhood with a monster hill that I try to complete in under 90 minutes, done first thing this morning. Then I went on an easy paced hike at Mt Hood regional park for about 6 miles. Ended with the evening walk that I do most nights with my neighbor.
Good walking everyone!0 -

* I use my phone to track steps, so this doesn't pick up very much indoor activity.
When I'm subbing it does pick up all my trips around campus and the activities i do with my classes at recess. I would say about half of my weekly mileage comes from outdoor fitness walking & hiking.
When the time changes next week I'll have to change some of my routines & may have to add some treadmill walking. I think I'm too ADHD for the treadmill though! :-(

scolaris, when you walk on the treadmill are you able to watch TV or a movie or listen to an audio book? That might make it more possible to stay with the otherwise boring quality of the treadmill. I am very fortunate where I live that I feel safe walking outdoors in my neighborhood in the dark so the time and season changes mean only that I wear warmer clothing and carry a flashlight from October to April.0

Yes, I could try that. Our Y doesn't have a tv monitor on the treadmills & my iPad doesn't do wifi unless I'm on a network. I guess I should load Netflix or Xfinity on my phone & try it. Another friend suggested podcasts but they didn't hold my attention. I'm very distractable.
I will continue to get my dog walk with my neighbor & her two Aussie doodles. We wear light-up caps when it's dark and go in any & all weather. And I can count steps in Zumba 2 nights a week. And I have to remind myself the mornings will be lighter and more inviting. xo0 -
Sorry I haven't been around much but I'm going through some medical treatment at the moment. You're all doing a great job - soon be the end of October!! Keep going0

Starting a new 10 week fitness session today! Very excited & happy with results of the one I just finished. I lost 6.4 percent of my total body weight and I walked over 1 million steps! And while I stayed within a calorie range most days, I never felt deprived or overly restricted. It was great.
So today I worked at my weekend caregiver gig & went to a second harvest Pinot party where we picked and crushed some grapes. 12097 steps, 5.2 miles.0 -
