Joan sending prayers for you and your daughter. Your daughter may not feel that she can tell you everything that she is feeling, because it would upset you soo much. It is family members that try to make sense of why something like this has taken place, the person doesn't always know, their actions are taken at that moment in time. They are not selfish they just can't find a way out of the dark depression that has taken over at that moment.
If she wants to talk to someone, I am not judgmental, I am willing to listen to her so that she can find the best way to move forward. If she wants to she can send me a friend request and I will privately message her. It may also be helpful for her to receive Person Centered Counselling, she would not receive advice but they would listen to her and ask her questions around how is she feeling, what does she think would help her. They would get her to do all the talking and eventually she will find her own answers and identify what support she would like. Everything is confidential and would be ongoing until she is ready for them to stop.
Her suicide attempt is a cry for help, she needs to know that you are there for her and that when she feels down that you will listen to her. It is really difficult and you will also need support and guidance to help you come to turns with what is happening to your daughter. JFT listen to what your daughter is saying, you may think it is not important. Remember to your daughter it really is important, it's her life.0 -

I will express wellness mantra before getting ready for work. I will express my wellness mantra on the way home skipping a phone call if necessary.
I will stay within my calorie goal for the day and not overindulge
I will work out for 60 minutes today. Up in time to work out this morning, will get back to working out or at least walking around the block tonight.
I am expressing gratitude for my affinity for healthy/semi healthy foods. Love yogurt, oatmeal and green tea.
Step forward
Reminded myself of the reasons I'm becoming healthy on the way to work but still didn't on the way home (tend to get hung up on calls) and didn't revisit MFP.
Ended up over my calorie budget by 1/3, damn cheetoes.
Worked out for 56 minutes including a 20 minute walk. No reason I can't do this every night.
For today:
I will express my wellness mantra twice.
I will stay within my calorie budget for the day, not giving up on this one.
I will work out for 60 minutes today.
I am expressing gratitude for the nice warm days we're having. Felt great to walk.0 -
@joan6630 so sorry to hear about your daughter. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way as you try to help her and deal with this yourself.
What a difficult situation to deal with. I truly hope things turn around for your daughter and she is able to find the help she needs.
