Successes/struggles this week: I am still not always back in full control of what I am doing. sometimes I simply forget to eat well. :o still, I am getting used to it again. need to cut down calories a bit more I think but all in all I am on the right track. I hope. Canteen food usually is good at my job but not always very healthy or low calorie. I usually ask for small portions but they are still rather big and I cannot really estimate the calories. I try to bring in lunch as often as I can but my time planning is rather tight in the mornings as I am trying to fit in exercises now against my back ache and the kids always come up with very important last minute stuff (like which episode of bugs bunny are they allowed to watch and can someone put it on, pleeeeeeaaaase!). cooking in advance over the whole week doesn't work for me at all. I tried and I felt disgusted after a few days. I know that the food doesn't go bad or so but unfortunately this is how my mind works. anyway, I am working on making eating carefully a new normality for me and will succeed eventually :)

    29th January:
    1st February:

Weight lost/gained this week: 3.4 lbs lost
Weight lost/gained this month: 4.0 lbs lost

Successes/struggles this week: My loss rate picked up a bit, which is very encouraging, though it seems unlikely I'll lose another 14 lbs in 2 weeks to hit my too-ambitious goal, :-). What was I thinking, to aim at more than 2 lbs/week? I know better. A foot injury is keeping me off the treadmill, so my challenge is to go to the gym anyway and do strength training on other parts of the body. Cardio can wait until my foot will bear hard impacts again. I'm finding my new calorie goal of 1400 pretty easy to hit consistently without hunger or psychic pain. Must be getting used to this!

Successes/struggles this week: I had to take 3 days off from exercise to recover from hip pain. I have learned a lot about hip strengthening stretches. I also tried my first water aerobics class. Food has been under my caloric limit, but I had a few unhealthy substitutions this week, including my daughter’s morning waffles (plain) and chocolate covered almonds.
