Don't know much about him because just the way he talks drives me bonkers but I do know I see his name and face on a bunch of crap and I don't really have time to listen to anyone who endorses everything and anything. It's hard to believe someones motive when they're endorsing things left right and center.. seems like he just wants his face/name on stuff to collect money. There is no "magic pill" for weight loss... there just isn't, the sooner people realize this the better off they will be. Every diet pill I've ever laid eyes on says something to the effect of "when combined with diet and exercise" .... well DUH. Any weight you lost on those pills, you would have lost if you haven't taken them. Diet and exercise usually creates a calorie deficit ... ta-da!

So you believe him saying "known information" outweighs using his credentials and fame to lie to the masses about things not as well known?

That takes enabling to a new level.

Best trick in the book, mix 10% truth with 90% bull *kitten* and fool the masses

It pads the wallet and builds a cult of personality where the zealots buy the products and keep the cycle going.

Just because he doesn't spout 100% crap doesn't give him a free pass to sprinkle it liberally through his career.

The problem is, assuming there is correct information, you have to sift through all the incorrect information and woo. If you enjoy watching him, that is up to you, but when a man knowingly promotes things that are woo and have no effect and no scientific support at all, how can you trust him for other things. Would it not be better to look elsewhere?

I have seen the publications, but never heard it on the show. Publications can often lie.
For sleep - Melatonin 3 g's a day is enough.

No actually. My son does not sleep on 3 or even 4 or 5mg. He needs 6 mg which allows him to fall asleep and get his 4 hours of sleep per night. We all have different levels to suit us, some may only need 1mg, others need more

The problem is, as I quoted above, he doesn't separate good science from bad or developing science. In 2016 alone he's launched a new diet brand, talked about the dangers of bread, miniblinds, and foods to avoid alzheimers (which is still developing science at best and gives false hope to many families). But honestly, you don't seem interested in listening to what anyone else has to say.

I need a "like" button for this ^^

He even talks about anti-cancer foods. People know not to think that this will prevent cancer. People are not that dumb.
And I simply do not see him endorsing things.

People are absolutely that dumb...which is the problem. It's lies. You can't endorse someone and say "well..yea, sometimes he says dumb stuff...but no one believes it so it's okay"...

He also talks about the best dosage for melatonin. People know not to think this is the only dose that will work or that his advice trumps a medical specialist. People are not that dumb.

He's not interested enough in peoples' health to say "no" to the big fat paychecks he gets for peddling woo. That's why I dislike him.
Also because my mother in law is constantly telling me "Dr. Oz said"...
    I really really dislike him.

It drives me absolutely bonkers when my mother says, "Dr. Oz said ..." Ugh. Between this and all that pseudoscience **** he pushes as legitimate "solutions"? I don't hate him, because I don't hate anyone. But I dislike him and will not support him in any way.

Communicating with the dead to reduce stress

Oz has brought several self-proclaimed "spiritual mediums" on the show, where they've done everything from psychic readings to telling audience members how their loved ones actually passed (one of Oz' guests told an audience member that his son, who had died in a car accident, had actually committed suicide, the Los Angeles Times reports), and giving advice.

Connecting with the dead, Oz has said, can help lower stress levels by helping people make peace with their deceased loved ones.

More recently, he's even shown the audience before-and-after brain scans to show them that psychics attain a "different type of consciousness" when they "connect with the other side." Never mind that these scans could literally show anything. They're done with an EEG, which simply shows relative activity in different areas of the brain, and taken once before and again during the readings. That means the "results" (meaning the difference in before and after scans) could simply show something like elevated anxiety. The images are so unclear, however, it's hard to even determine this type of result.

If you caught your husband cheating on you and lying about it, would that be OK because he sometimes tells you the truth about things? Would you believe everything he told you after that?

Dr. Oz might say to sleep 7 hours, or walk 20 minutes, or eat veggies every day. Those things are not bad.

I think he's one of the most disgusting people on earth. People like him who sell misinformation belong in their own level of hell.
