I spent the weekend shopping for this post -80lb body! New winter coat! New exercise leggings! New vest! New Nikes!
It was expensive but felt amazing to be buying things in size large and medium instead of size xxl.

And then to top it all off my fiancé told me last night that I feel little. He called me LITTLE!!!!! I can't stop thinking about that! Massive boost of self confidence right there!

Got a little down and out about some things and ended up eating wayyy more than intended this weekend. Still ended up pleasantly surprised when my clothes still fit the same, despite feeling super bloaty.

Had my annual physical this morning and even though I'm up a few lbs from my weekend of destruction, my doc was SUPER happy with me. She was impressed with my numbers, looking forward to my bloodwork results and even gave me a hug lol. She's got me set up with a specialist to help align my knee since I told her how much it bothered me when it would slip and ruin my running for the week. Plus I got myself set up with a nutritionist to help give me that final boost and tweak my habits. It was so nice going to a doctor and not feeling judged or that because my BMI isn't great that I'm not worth celebrating.

Just a small thing but I'm pleased with myself - I am notoriously lazy, but this morning I parked at the far end of the lot and walked over to the store. It was only a couple of extra minutes (and I'm not sure I could have convinced myself if it had been -30 today!), but it's not something I would normally do. :)

Flew cross country for a family wedding. I was able to walk down the aisle of the airplane with room to spare. At the hotel room, i took the stairs up to the 4th floor with a 24 pack of 16 oz bottles of water. Then their was all the double takes of family members who had not seen me in ages,

I've been stuck at home since Friday due to the blizzard & waiting to get plowed out from under 3-4 foot drifts. I was proud of myself for pre-cooking some good healthy meals and having lower-cal snacks on hand, because I knew with the extra exertion of shoveling (and shoveling and shoveling!) and trekking through the snow to take care of the chickens, I would be tired and sore and not want to spend a lot of time on food prep. I ended up with some delicious, healthy, nutritious, easily-heated meals throughout the weekend. I was a little worried that I would start overeating when the cabin fever set in, but I actually had to add a few evening snacks to meet my calorie goal. Also, was a lot less winded & sore after shoveling than I was last year at this time.

I was able to resist overindulging on a public holiday, stuck to my numbers & weekday 'no dinner rule'.

Oh yeah, I forget to post here sometimes. I attempted a 115 one rep max on bench press. I ended up getting a very slow 125. Getting so close to bodyweight bench as right now I'm at about 136. Upper body is tough to increase on but my previous max was 110 so I'm very pleased.

Continuing to stick to healthy ways to handle my stresses...I still have only had 1-2 small glasses...where before I would've been drinking bottle after bottle of wine, rum, vodka...and binged on tons of food. This time I'm finding healthier ways to handle things, while still stopping to vent/take care of me. At least red wine is somewhat healthy and I made myself stop and meditate afterwards. I felt better and put the bottle away.

This is huge for me because I come from a long line of alcoholics...and my self control usually goes away when I'm really depressed/stressed. This time I'm still working out, napping if I feel exhausted, drinking tea and breathing as I drink it, and eating when I feel like it versus just using it to drown things out.

I no longer have snacks after dinner! And I no longer let a setback throw me off course; if I indulge I get back on track as soon as possible.

I decided that this year is going to be about me getting to where I would like to be. I have stayed faithful since January 1. After not seeing the results that I was hoping to instantly get I decided yesterday to do both level 1 and level 2 of Jillian Micheals 30 day shred...I finished both and felt great!

Oh, excellent! (I had an enforced "no exertion" order after surgery last summer, and I thought I was going to lose my freakin' mind!)

This is so, so wonderful: Congratulations on achieving such good mastery over your own behavior. It isn't easy . . . but the result is great in so many ways!

My husband decided to set up a small exercise space in our basement for me, so I don't have to spend so much time at the gym (40 minute drive round-trip). We got the first few pieces of equipment moved in, and a television (you can't see it in the pic). THIS is what happened. Yes, we have a living room with a television, and they have a television in one of the bedrooms, but they are choosing to workout while watching t.v. or playing on their tablets! They've been playing musical chairs with the equipment. (Please ignore the canned goods and egg cartons in the background; it's a work in progress and I haven't gotten everything moved out yet). I can't believe the changes that have taken place with my whole family because of my decision to lose weight!

That thigh magic machine is no joke! I bought mine for a dollar at a flea market and the woman was like "Take it please!" I love it. Works great! It's a bit fun too, when I'm not struggling to finish 20 in a row! lol Great job on the set up! My kids work out with me too. It's fun to do together.

I love it, so far, too. Did 50 yesterday. You can definitely feel it. I paid more than $1, though :) . $20 off craigslist. My thighs are my least favorite body part, because they've always been very flabby. I got the elliptical (is that what that thing is called?) for $20 off craigslist, too. My oldest (14) was excited to see it, because that's her favorite machine at the gym. I'm still looking for a treadmill.

Yay craigslist! That's awesome! Yes, it's called an elliptical, I have one too and love it. That's great your kids get excited too. So nice.

I used to use the elevator at work quite frequently back when I was heavier and it always used to shudder and shake everytime I stepped on and off it. Used it out of the blue the other day and it did not even flinch when I stepped on it. Yay me!
