Hello Everyone and welcome to all newbies,
I know with all the snow that we tend to get bored and anxious, we can find ourselves snacking and slacking off.
Its the perfect time to get your weekly meals planned and find great way to get in a workout. Snow, rain, etc. is no excuse for falling off track. Just be creative and put a smile on your face. We know Spring is coming.

Trying is Succeeding
The best intentions don’t mean nearly as much as a actually trying, even if it means failing. Going after your goals may be tough, but trying can result in a BIG victory. The decision to try takes courage, which can be tough to come by sometimes. How many times have you longed to do something worthwhile but couldn’t quite make yourself take that first step? It’s important to remember that success isn’t always found in the goal you’re pursuing. You can be a success just by trying. You gain by learning, you gain by growing, and you gain by being just a little closer to your goal than you were yesterday.

Non-scale victory this week: Attended a yoga class... at a studio... with other people in the room. It was pretty scary, but it went ok. I may try to go back. Congrats to everyone on their successes this week. You are very inspiring.

I’m late posting because I’ve been out of town. That’s also why I’m up a pound. I’m glad it’s not more since my only exercise was walking.
My non-scale victory was joining a Fitbit Challenge that pushed me to do more walking.0 -

Your doing amazing! Well on your way keep up the good work0 -
Good Morning Everyone and welcome newbies. Here we go into second month of the new year and spring is not far behind. December & January have been very challenging for me and I am sure for some others as well. I just can't seem to get everything back on track. I am hoping that February will be the new start for a healthier me. I have been falling behind in my post, life has been fast pace, long work hours and very little sleep. We all know losing sleep is BAD. It plays an important roll in losing weight and your health. I have been struggling with my meals and journaling, I am hoping to finally get back on a more manageable schedule.
I am very pleased to see so many taking the challenge and doing well and keeping up with posting. Thanks so much and please be patient with me and I promise that I will get back to managing this thread daily. I am scheduled for Cataract surgery this coming Tuesday and will probably have to limit my time on the computer.
I will try to post daily tips if possible. Congratulations to those who have lost some pounds and keep focused on your goals. The reward will be so sweet when you hit your goals. Now go out have a beautiful day and do something good for someone else and put a big smile on your face. It is amazing how wonderful that smile can make someone else feel. Pass it on and your day will be blessed with the feeling of love.0 -
Myth: Carbs will make you gain pounds, period.
Some people equate carbohydrates with weight gain because they bind water and can lead to bloating. You’re not truly getting bigger, but it can sure feel like it. The other reason people may see carbs as a nutritional adversary is because they can be so easy to overeat, which actually can lead to added pounds. To avoid that sneaky trap, fill your diet with complex carbohydrates like vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. “They often contain fiber and many vitamins and minerals, unlike simple carbohydrates found in white rice, refined sugar, sodas, and candy,”

Weekly Check In:
1/13- 196.5 lbs
1/21- 195 lbs
1/28- 195 lbs
I was actually at 194 yesterday, but my son started a job delivering pizzas. Last night was his first shift, so I HAD to order pizza so I could give him a nice tip! LOL Yes- ate too much, but you moms know how it is... Im sure that the extra will be gone in a day or two.
Plan is to walk 4-5 miles 3-4 times this week. Also- STOP SNACKING AT NIGHT!!!! This is my downfall. I'm going to try going to bed earlier and see if this helps

Each day is a new day and we get a chance to make the right choices and add in exercise. Today I will be strong and plan a head making my week much easier and healthier.

Buyer beware:
Just because a food’s labeled “healthy,” “smart,” or “all-natural” does not mean it’s the best choice for someone who’s trying to lose weight. For example, honey, vegetable chips, and granola are just a few of the supermarket staples that have tricked dieters into believing they’re healthy choices, when in fact, they are as equally loaded with calories, fat, sodium, and glucose as their more vilified counterparts of table sugar, potato chips, and sweet cereals.
