Whew! I got caught up in work discussions and now it is more than 2 hours later and I just opened up my planned snack. Protein not chocolate. Telling myself to wait 15 min. worked! Stress eating averted.

Vicki, stay safe in all that snow! Wonder if Meg got it too? We just caught the bottom of it and had mostly rain.

I chose a Kind brand granola bar, dark chocolate mocha. Not calorie and fat free, but more filling and some nutrition. Thanks for all the help. Tonight I will fill up with some Healthy Choice soup with extra garlic because the cold finally caught me. Hugs and thanks to everyone ! ! !

CheriGee, our plan is an AARP/United Health Care. The web site to sign up isOTC-ESSENTIALS.com There is a place to register and you put your ID number in. But we got a catalogue in the mail. If you didn't get a catalogue, you may not have that benefit. Charlie got his today. I got a digital thermometer and some afrin nasal spray for him in addition to the diapers/

Had my eye appointment with the specialist today. He said the floaters just take care of themselves. I will have the laser procedure Feb 23. He said I have floaters in the left eye also but may not have known I have since there was so much apacity in the eye so after laser is done I might notice them. Both my eyes were dilated.I hope I can read music tonight at choir practice!

    Stronglifts Rest Day

    Goblet squats- 3X7X30
    Russian Kettlebell Swings- 22X9X30

I decided to continue with the 30 pound kettle bell since I did not have any DOMS after Monday's workout or Stronglifts yesterday.

Hello to all: Had a meeting today at church and choir practice tonight. Think we will be practicing music for Ash Wednesday, can't believe that is already next Wednesday. Easter is early this year and according to the ground hog and Snohomish's ground frog spring will be early this year. Had potluck at the meeting but kept portions very small and there were a surprising number of healthy choices. Did some walking at church while waiting for things to start so got in a few extra steps.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA

heather i was very impressed that the school set up a quiet place for the students to be together, talk, cry, make art for the family. The wake is tomorrow and immediately after my girl has to perform in the hs show.

I am so overwhelmed with how vulnerable young people are, but then again arent we all?

Have a very difficult time ahead with work changes ahead. must breathe through the stress and not punish, self medicate with food. Log every bite, keep moving and checking in with you all.

Hi everyone I am new to the group. I share of love for Standard Poodles with Barbie ( I only have one and two Maltese). I really need to loose weight this is the biggest I have ever been and I refuse to buy bigger clothes. The funny thing is when I see the dogs gaining weight I start giving them less treats and exercising them more. I realized I care more about them and their health then I do my own. This is the year I am going to change that.

    Goals for February
Log my food and water everyday.
    Stay under calorie count
    Eat more fiber

Quick check in. DH went to the gym with me today since it was storming. I'm so glad he has decided to do that. He used to brave the weather, and I worried about him. I did my 2.7 miles on the elliptical before my class. We did a Pilates tape today. It is a good workout, but I don't like it as well as the weights. I can't do all the moves and it is too easy for me to slack off. With the weights, mine might be light, but I'm doing the most I can and not slacking at all. Butt day tomorrow., Thursdays are my favorite.

I've picked up a tutoring job - the son of one of the women in my class is struggling with 10th grade geometry. Maybe I'll buy me a cute workout outfit with the extra money.

Great non-scale victory for you, Mia. Victories like this will eventually lead to a lower number on the scale. I found that getting the lower number on the scale was slower than desired, but I could count on it if I stuck with the program. :flowerforyou:

We got about 6 inches of snow so far. Unfortunately I had a fall because Iwent out before the snow fall and I fell on a patch of ice. It doesn't appear I broke anything just sore. Fortunately DH can use the snowblower on our snow.

In honor of the snow time to post a garden picture from summer past.3lykoogdbhxb.jpg

While back we discovered one of the dogs got out, when they were out side. We discovered the back fence had on the spot. Finally got around to getting the fence redone. It just so happens my neighbor is a union carpenter so he's back fence for us. When I came home yesterday, it was snow fence.rd2yvyx6sdzo.jpeg
I don't know if you can tell but that picture is this morning. A house is behind there. 450 bucks for him plus the cost of the lumber. It will be nice to see the finished product

Becca, does the TOPS pledge no longer contain the lines "Even though I overeat in private, my excess poundage is there for all the world to see. How foolish I have been!"? Although I thought it was important to acknowledge that people could see the results of overeating in private, I always thought that part was a little less than supportive. And although I did, not everyone overeats in private. Some do it in openly social situations. I like the new pledge better. It has been years since I went to TOPS, but I still remember that line.

Yep they took out that part, a bit too invasive for many. We currently have about 35 members in our chapter, and about 7 members are KOPS.

CheriGee2~ I have the pledge on a chalkboard in my kitchen and say it every morning before I start the day. It definitely keeps me in the moment, just looking forward. Hope you have a great weigh-in! My meetings are on Wednesdays at 8:30am (I help move tables etc.) then it starts officially at 9:45 until about 11 or so. We do alot of socializing, so we need all that time to get caught up in everybody's business! I lost 1 lb this week.

Lenora~ Your DH sounds like a keeper. I love been tucked in! I shall tell you a secret. Don't laugh now. When I was a small child, really my "first memories", I would rock myself to sleep. It's a hypnotic thing, and yep I still do it, when I am having problems "settling down". And yep, my husband rocks me, (if we are cuddling), its an action I never thought I could ever share been married, let alone my husband condoning it, but he does. I swear by coconut oil and after a bath I use it head to toe. Even put a dab in my eyes! I have yet to "pull" it between my teeth, but have heard sucking it back and forth in between your teeth for a bit, does your gums good. Just don't spit it out into your sink because your sink will clog up. Spit it out into your kitchen trash bin.

Terri in Milwaukee~ The Twinkies pan for banana bread...GO FOR IT!! I like mine because putting 1/2 cup in each mini loaf gives you more sides for that awesome crumbly crunch, and it only takes 35 min to bake. What I do with over-ripe bananas is toast some Vans or Kashi hearty waffles, spread with PB-2, then press in the banana slices, then drizzle with honey. Yummy!!

Hello everyone! I have just spent sometime reading all of your February posts. This sounds like a very tight and supportive group. I'm hoping you have room for one more?

Like all of you, I'm trying to make some healthier life style changes, lose some weight, work full time, take care of my husband, my lovely mother-in-law, one bad-*kitten* beagle, and not go screaming into the night during the process.

I received a Fit Bit for Christmas, and have been working towards my 10,000 steps. But I got sidetracked in January. I was out for three weeks with bacterial pneumonia, and really couldn't do anything. Now, I'm ready to work towards my goals. Hopefully with a little support and friendship?

welcome.gif..this is a very open welcoming community....if you read the posts every day and post something---stuff about yourself, a response to what someone has said, a question...you'll soon feel like family. It helped me to take it one day at a time and make small changes each day.

Becca, unfortunately I found your 1 pound. But I lost 6 lbs. last week, which was pretty amazing. Not surprised that gained back a little of that. My first gain this year, and I could have done without that. Was happy to be second biggest winner for last month. I love the support of our TOPS group. Making that commitment each week really helps me. Cheri Gee

Hello, ladies--I just discovered this message board. I'm 59, working to be fabulous at 60 and undo the damage caused by inactivity for the past two years. This month my goal is to get to 148 pounds (I was 153 on Feb. 1) while maintaining or increasing my lean body mass (104.5 pounds).

Love the pet pictures some people have posted!

I should mention too that I am new to MFP. I used to use tracker.dailyburn.com and loved it, and since making the move to MFP, I have not yet connected with anybody. So I'm glad to find this group.
