I've been walking 10000 steps almost everyday for a month now. Bodyfat is down and weight is up. Clothes feel tighter or the same.
I'm going to try to bump up steps to 15 or 20k. I am so tired of dieting, just end up gaining fat, bingeing and feeling more depressed.
Any advice out there, is it possible to go down in size this way?0 -
Phew! Everyone's doing so awesome! 10,940 steps today. Wish it knew how to calculated all that crawling around on my hands and knees I did today weeding the back yard!
Jdkbs- The ONLY way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you burn. Walking is great to get started in fitness and in calorie burning, but to raise your calorie-burn, you might need to push it harder. Try walking as fast as you can, as hard as you can, for 10-15 minutes in the middle of your steps. But even that doesn't help you lose weight if you eat back all of the calories that you burn off walking.
The biggest benefit to walking is physical health, more than fat-loss. It brings down your blood pressure, balances your mood, improves circulation and a gazillion other little things that will improve your overall health.

Is it to late to get in on this?0

Pretty good steps this week thread helped ensure I kept on it, won't be doing next week with quite the same step focus, as got some cardio planned and less steps keep it mixed up and all that good luck to those having another go next week.

Whats the most reliable app to use to track your steps for you guys?
I use Pacer but it's not very accurate so far and it has a hard time syncing with Myfitnesspal.0 -

Saturday I was on the treadmill at midnight so part of my steps didn't count for Saturday- I only had 6498, but the rest of my walk counted on today and so far I have 13,148 for today. I should be able to get at least the 354 steps I need to make it 20,000 for the 2 days. (Saturday I slept until noon so everything happened much later than usual)0

I hope to get to where you guys are- at 15,000-20,000 steps in a day! Impressive!0

Ok I'm going to try again starting tomorrow. Have really felt like horrible crap the last several days. Figures as soon as I join a challenge, lol. I even challenged some fitbit friends to do over 10,000 this weekend, and then BOOM, I can barely function! LOL0

I'd like to join this! My tracker on my iPhone has been showing that I barely do any walking at all, plus I'm sat in an office all day which doesn't help. I went for a walk before work this morning to help me get to my 10,000 steps. Bring on 10,000 every day!0

Does anyone/ everyone eat back their calories burned by daily steps taken?
My example is
500 calories burned for 10 000 steps
1480 is daily calories required to lose 1lb per week as per MFP
So I can eat 1980 calories total that day?0
