Here is a hyperlink that 'should' take you to a video about how to use 'binder clips' for various things. Interesting. I would like to have been the person who invented some of these uses. It looks like it is written in Japanese or some foreign language like that. You'll have to copy it into your search engine line.

All I can say is that I hope it takes you directly to this link. I remember sending a link to a friend of mine; which turned out to be something TOTALLY different and something I would have never sent to anybody.

It opens up with someone opening a plastic bag full of 'binder clips' and then it shows you all sorts of ways to use them (other than holding papers together).

Not sure what it is but for some reason I just can't sleep tonight. Did a Les Mill Cardio workout DVD. I wasn't at all impressed. The plan for tomorrow is to go to the deep water aerobics class. I do want to stop at WalGreen after class and then home to skype with Bryan. Afterwards, we need to go to Aldi, I'd like to return a pair of shoes to Hamricks and then to WalMart. Have ceramics at night. We should have gone to WM today, I would have, but not Vince

I do want to go to Food Lion and get their asparagu,. This is the last day that it'll be on sale The guy is coming to replace the drive on the pump for the pool, so we'll probably go after that. Update: that one had the same problem. He's going to have someone from Hayward come out the next time.

katla - congrat on not being a beginner any more. Sorry...I can't give you any advice about moving up. I don't think I ever went past the beginner stage.

Joyce - we have this area behind our backyard that is still our property. whenever we have any work that we do that involves dead leaves/rocks/whatever, we dump it there. We've told the guy that he can just put the dead tree there. There's lots of dead branches etc. already there.

CJ -I'm so sorry about the water damage. But have a great, wonderful, trip

Connie - I've been coming here for years, and I STILL don't know everyone. Welcome! Just don't feel bad if you don't get everyone down. Plus...there are people who come and go, and it's hard to keep up with them. You'll do wonderful. There are lots of ex- and present-day nurses here. Feel bettter fast

Joyce - I think its vitamine E also. I, too, have heard that honey will help heal a wound faster, but I've never tried it

Karen - good thoughts being sent to your hubby

Becca - as usual, you have me drooling. What a wonderful hubby you have there! Feel better fast.

Now why, oh, why, did I have this cream filled doughnut? What a waste of calories! And it really wasn't all that good. Well, I'm going to try to be better. I know why, because I was afraid that they'd go stale before Vince got to eating them

Alison - I always say that the absolute worst part of the water aerobics class is having to walk past that mirror, I hear ya loud and clear

Heather - diet or not diet -- you had to have that

Carol in NC - So sorry about the retina tear. Can't they give you some numbing medicine? I remember they gave some to Vince right before his cataract surgery.

Lenora - we live in NC, about an hour north of Charlotte. The tree was a pine cone tree. It was dead and I wanted it gone anyway. Actually, some of the other trees are dead, also, they're just not blown over (yet). My fear (which is probably unfounded since they're so far away from the house) is that one of them will fall on the house. Also, they're right next to the drainage field. In wintertime I'd like the sunlight to get to the drainage. You've probably heard this before, but you can't spot reduce. I have some bat wings, too, and you know that I'm an avid exerciser. I honestly think a lot has to do with our age. I have a roll of flab that I didn't used to have until I went thru menopause. The saying that a good body is 80% diet and 20% exercise is true (I found this out the hard way). But exercise is still important.

Welcome everyone new to a wonderful place

DJ - this house came with a soap dispenser, but do you know that I've never used it??? I do love my thing at the end of the faucet that pulls out into a sprayer. Love, love, love it. If ever I had to get another faucet, I'd definitely get this type.

    Great Anne!

    Cheri - beautiful crochet

Rori - don't you have to put the arnica gel on as soon as you get the bruise?

Hi Ladies, I'm finally feeling better today. Got up at 4am & got my exercise done before work. Back on track again!

KJLaMore: Glad to hear someone else has a schedule like mine. If I don't get the exercise done in the morning I'm too tired at the end of the day too.

Oh dear..... started a post and it disappeared mid sentence. Not sure where it went..... Don't remember what all I had written. Must be tired!

Was saying to Lenora - I'm an anticoagulation nurse, seeing about 25 patients a day, very busy but I spend most of my time behind a desk, except when I'm up getting the next patient. Don't get as much walking in as I'd like.
I do use a pedometer. How do I add in that type of activity?

Cheri: beautiful crochet work! I do a lot of crafty type things but knitting/crocheting is something I've never tackled!

Michele: Thanks for the welcome! Hope to get to know everyone soon.

Later than I thought! Off to bed. Good night all!

calefor, you are one of those nurses that I didn't like!!!!! LOL. When my Mom first went on her Coumadin, a visiting nurse would come to her apartment and draw blood, take it back to the lab and her doctor's office would let her know if there was any change. The visiting nurse was free so there was no charge for any of that. Then some one invented the anticoagulant department and her insurance charged for 'specialist' which was $45! So she went from $0 - $45 all because of that clinic. But I guess in the end it did work out for her benefit because it made us realize she needed to change her insurance. The premiums were more expensive but her benefits were fantastic so she was happy with it.

NY Karen, my daughter was in property management for a good while. As you said the pay wasn't much. She was mainly in supplemental housing so her tenants were poor. Some were Spanish only speaking. She didn't know any but soon learned it in order to be able to communicate with her tenants, be able to explain documents, etc. She had this wonderful maintenence man who was also a tenant. He was a fantastic cook and baker and she would daily have something wonderful on her desk. She has a passion for children and boy did she love those little kids. The worst part of it was when she had to serve evictions and sometimes had to go to court over them.

Wish me luck. I have a prescription for Ambien but I don't want to be hooked on them. So I started out on 1/2 of a pill and tonight i am only taking 1/4. I am well aware I may have to get up and take the other 1/4 but I have planned this for several days. Wanted to wait until there was a day that I didn't have anything scheduled the next day. so tonight it is.

Good morning, Carol Peach. By the way, I've been meaning to tell you I loved seeing your pics. You looked very pretty. I'm a little partial to short grandmas :)

I've never had a passport and Jack's expired in December, he didn't realize it as he retired and quit flying a couple of years ago. We will be making day trips into Mexico next January, while in Patagonia so we will need them. We've completed the forms just need to go get pictures taken. Oh joy. I hate pics of myself.

Off in search of my second cup of coffee. Have a terrific Wednesday all.

:)calefore, there is no specific way to add steps on a pedometer to your exercise on MFP....I have created my own exercise entries to keep track of my exercise. You have to be creative. If you want to know more, we can discuss it more on this thread. I enter my dog walking and dance classes as exercise, but the extra steps I get from walking around a store or doing chores around the house, just count as steps and I figure that they are a hedge against over-estimated exercise entries or under-estimated food entries. I get up at 4 AM every day to allow ample time for dog walking, breakfast, and connection with MFP before my day's events.

“I have not been inordinately materialistic, but I am attached to my house, to my inherited belongings, and to the things that I have chosen for myself. All these objects add complexity to my emotional ties to the people with whom I have shared, and share, my life, and to my aspirations for myself.”

--Ann Truitt, Turn: The Journal of an Artist

I just read this quote a few minutes ago and it explains why I still have so much "stuff" in my house.smiley-laughing025.gif

Cheri, the crochet project is beautiful!

Lenora, I think I see a future in stand-up comedy for you...

Michele, good luck with the Skype. Did I tell you that DD2 has accepted the offer of a plane ticket to visit this summer? Should be interesting...wish me luck.

Weekend was nice, now it is back to boring work. But the sky is bright blue and cloudless!
Trying to not go over the calories, but it sure is hard.

Like I said, boring lately, but because of Heather getting me on Duolingo I am now "6 percent fluent" in Polish...not sure how they calculate that but I do not feel anywhere near that. And because someone mentioned that Neurotribes book a while back I have been reading that and it is fascinating. So I have been doing some things but you gals need to give me a break on suggestions of cool things to do and read so I can make some progress on my messy house lol...

    Have a wonderful day!

Michele in NC – I wish I had not allowed myself to gain the weight I did. Not excessive; but about 60lbs total. I’ve lost a little more than ½ that. My skin has always been able to get back to pre-pregnancy weight; with no stretchmarks. I don’t think it is ever going to get there, although the nurse/MD tells me that my torso will be the last place I will lose the weight I am working towards. I stood on my feet yesterday and tried on every single piece of clothing I had to my name. I think the standing made my legs swell. They don’t feel quite so bad this morning. Oh Lordy, how much I gathered up to take to Goodwill; and, even more to the consignment shop. I am not just going to give them away. One thing was the dress that I wore to my DYS’s wedding and have only worn it that one time.

Are y’all allowed to ‘burn’ the pile you have in your back yard? Or do you live ‘in town’? We can burn large piles or burn the undergrowth around the trees; but, we must call and get a ‘burn permit’ first; and, they won’t issue one if it is too windy. Don’t you think that maybe that might become a ‘snake pit’?

Louis mowed a lot of my walking path and the yard; and, then the mower broke down. He might get DOS to get the tractor and mower and mow the timber lane so that will extend my walks. I'm full of errands to do today, so poor Cracker will have to stay in her crate most of the time.

Calephor – Under your exercise tab; there is a way to get to the database; you’d probably have to figure out the time at a slow or leisurely pace. Maybe someone else knows more. I don’t know if they have one that is named ‘pedometer’ with a certain number of steps. I time myself when I walk and I don’t have a pedometer. I don’t think I walk as many steps as some of the ladies do; but, I’d like to think the length of time I walk will help my legs.

Barbiecat – My house (one that we down-sized to) is full of old things; that we inherited or bought. It is so difficult to ‘let go’ of some things that have ‘sentiment’ attached to it (even if you don’t use it). I’m in the process of de-cluttering my house. I started with my own closet and dresser drawers. Boy, did I ever get rid of a lot. I’m waiting for DH to finish the glassed-in porch so I can move my ‘major’ flamingo collection out there and some of my art books and a few pictures out there and work on my bookshelf in my den which is VERY cluttered! Room-by-room and trying NOT to get distracted.
