I'm going to start as soon as I get home from work, after my three-mile dog walk. This is the first time I've actually taken measurements and a before pic (gulp). Thank goodness for the MFP judgement-free zone. I'm 5'5" and currently 147 lbs. At least for Level 1, I'll probably use 5- and 8-pound weights. Good luck, everyone!

Nobody is more surprised than me to announce that I've done L1D2 today! I woke up having had little sleep and appearing to have lost the ability to walk downstairs or hills (up is fine, down is a killer this morning!). I pushed through it and subjected myself to the punishment all over again, and boy am I PROUD of myself!!!!0 -
L1D2 complete....okay...so I am a tad bit stiff!! Arms and calves burn just a wee bit BUT MUST GET PAST THE PAIN!! I want to see some major results from this!!!0

I have to get an actual cloth tape measure before I can get measurements (the stiff one from the garage and I had a fight when it would not bend any lay nicely on my skin ... and it won).
I did L1D1 yesterday and sweated my *kitten* off ... but I am not sore today. The only thing I found super "hard" in level 1 (aside from having to stop and pee from all the stinking jumping!) was raising my dumbbells forward to eye level while doing side lunges, so I think I've learned one of the muscle groups I seem to be missing with my weight training at the gym!
Now I have a question ... how do we go about determining levels? Do I do level 1 for a week and then move onto level 2 next week? How is everyone else doing this? Do we have a "routine" that everyone is following? Level 1 for 10 days, Level 2 for 10 days and Level 3 for 10 days ... or just what ever we want??
Anyone else doing before photos as well as measurements? I'm hoping to have my kids help me do that this weekend!0 -

Dragofli.....I think Level 1 for 10 days....Level 2 for 10 days is how I am going to do it....I am taking July 3rd and 4th off for camping but will get right back on when we come home!! Hubby comes home this weekend and I am making him take a before pic......yuck! I am so excited for the end results!! I heard that days 3 and 4 are the hardest to overcome so once we are over that hill I think it will get easier.... I hope!!0 -
Finished L1D3 last night...it was definitely rough on my already sore thighs and shoulders! Today my calves are more sore than the rest of me, but I'm determined to jump through my pain!
dragonflydi: those are my least favorite moves too! I have to put my weights down halfway through the second set and it still hurts to lift my bare arms for the rest of the set! Maybe by day 10 I'll be able to hold on to my weights the entire time0 -

OK, this is what I am going to shoot for as well, and if I feel I can step it up a little before, then I'll go for it. I could just up the weights from my 5 lb to my 8 lb also ...

Honestly, the hardest thing for me is all the jumping. Not due to poor ankels/knees, etc., but b/c after having 2 babies, my bladder control is horrible! I best be watching how much liquid I consume before tonight's version of JM30DS!0 -
I can do the arm lift/lunges no problem.....its the front lunges and squats I have problems with as my knees crunch and click.....not sure if its cuz I am overweight or it is my knees.....my sister says hers are the same way and she is skinny. The sound is horrifying!!0

Today will be L1D3 for me... I'm not sure if it's from this, or my hour of zumba for 3 days in a row but my calves are SORE!!! =]0

OK ladies, what moves are you doing modified? I am doing only the push ups modified, but my goal is to do at least one full set of regular push ups before day 10 of level one hits!!! I did before pics ... will post soon ... need to take measurements first!0

Bust: 37
Waist (narrowest point): 29.5
Hips (widest point): 40
Arm: 12.25
Thigh: 23.75

This video has shown me EXACTLY which groups of muscles I have been missing with my weights at the gym! Some of these moves seem like nothing (chest flies? I may as well just be using my arms w/no weight during the video b/c I do these w/15-20 lb weights at the gym), but then the eye level shoulder raises with these little 5 pounders make my muscles burn and ache as if they WERE 15-20 lbs!! LOL ...
I have issues with the push ups, but I can do all of the ab moves with ease ... but ONLY b/c what we do on the video is a small portion of the same sets I do at the gym and have been doing for the better part of 4 1/2 months. When I started, I thought I was going to die! I didn't think my ab work at the gym was doing as much as it has apparently been doing, however, since I'm doing it all on my own without the (paid) asstance of a trainer (though I have one who I am close with and he will help me with anything I ask ... and will also point out when my weights are not heavy enough, I need to adjust my form, even without my asking etc), I'm glad to know I must be doing something right0 -
Ok.....3 days late but I'd love to join! I discovered 30DS Level 1 on On-Demand via U-Verse yesterday so I'm gonna go do L1D1 now. Measurements below. I'll join the normal weigh-ins on Thursdays starting this week.

Maybe it won't be that bad, but I am still struggling with a few of the moves in level 1. Still can't do all those anterior raises at the end with my weights!0

Yes, I do. Best investment ever! It is a Mio watch...a lot of people swear by the cheststrap HRM but it works fine for me!0
