4/8 - Think I sat my goal to high now. We have had a week of terrible weather. Saturday was high of 35 with 16 to 20 mph winds, sleet/freezing rain/snow. All week been cold and rained everyday and windy. 45000 locally without power as winds has been 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50. Rain with snow mix tomorrow again (Friday) and Saturday high of 35 rain in the morning turning to wintery mix in the afternoon. uggggg!!!!

4/12 - 29.15 miles, road bike, great weather for a change

ok found this halfway through the month i will set my cycling goal at 550km (I started Biking to work on the 7th after picking up a new bike the 6th. At this point i have done 132 km and shortly will head out for a 16km ride home. leaving just over 400 km to do before month end (320 of those KM will come from the work Commute that I do 4 out of 5 days) so that leaves me 80 extra km to find time for by the end of April (spread over 5 weekend days that's only 16 per day half what i ride on a work day)

a long day of lugging kit around on site yesterday, lots of driving, struggling with 30kg bags of sand etc. So I thought I'd go back to the gym and try picking up weights again promptly to pull a muscle!!!!
an art exhibition tonight, pub and live music tomorrow, Bellowhead Farewell tour on Saturday and the races on Monday- going to be a busy few days ahead!!

bigroastdinner (why does that title always make me hungry? lol) Husband and I went too Cadbury world back in 2005. Our European friends took us there. Right down my husbands alley! lol..At that time they gave away free samples of all the Chocolates. He was not diabetic then.....

I sued to do it a couple of years back at a different job that was a more realistic 6-7 km each way (still uphill on the way in) I got pretty quick, towards the fall that year the beater i was riding blew a toire and rim on a pothole, needed brakes and a new front tire as well, put it to the side and then didn't ride to work when i started the new job because it was16km each way. Bought a good new bike (Kona Rove AL) and got serious. Day 5 of the commute today and it get's a little easier every day, I definitely worry less about what is served for lunch at work now and can feel the muscles getting stronger. Tonight will be the longest ride yet at about 27 km but i will be stopping on the way to pick something up.0 -

16th - a bit of walking the park, a bit of gardening, and a bit of walking to and from the train and to the Gherkin (a London skyscraper. ,fab views).... And then A LOT of champagne.... A friend who is 50 was celebrating in style!
17th - to and from Meeting (bit like Church) on my bike. Then off buying my daughter her new bike... We just need to get the new bike rack sorted now (the last one tried to fall off on a main road, the one before that went through the rear windscreen - we are getting a tow bar version now....no way either of those 2 horrors are happening again!)

Oh my! When I discovered this challenge days before April I was soooo excited and then truly inspired as I read other people's posts... I had grand plans. Typical of me - I made excuses - and there really shouldn't be excuses for finding time to be in motion. Yesterday, I completed a hilly 10k with friends - 16.10 min average walking pace. The event was two short in finisher medals. Yup, I was second to last - no medal for me - it's not about the medal, but it was eye opening. No more excuses! Getting myself in gear/motion. I WILL be posting tomorrow with more miles.
