5-6 hours is perfect. Anymore and I feel groggy and 'off' the entire day.

I'm 19, but diagnosed with insomnia so you might want to ignore my results, I can function well on 3-4 hours sleep :') although I prefer 6+

I'm 66 and now sleep 7 to 7 1/2 hours, sometimes even 8. I suffered from insomnia for years often not sleeping more than 3 - 4 hours a night, sometimes not at all. Retirement, reducing stress, losing weight, and increasing physical activity are what helped me to resume normal sleep patterns. I finally feel fully rested.

I'm 28 and I'd say about 7 hours, it depends on how hard I've trained and what I've ate etc. That's assuming I get uninterrupted sleep too
