Thanks for the laughs!

I believe everything else you've posted. But not this.5 -
---This thread pretty much has it all. Only thing missing is the "you are working out now and muscle weighs more than fat" argument.---
Oh, I thought we covered that!
When you work out, your fat cells go into a Metamorphosis Phase and then they turn into muscle cells, which weigh 27% more. But as a woman, you have to be careful---it's very easy for women to accidentally go from a 'curvy' to a 'bodybuilder' physique. It's probably best if women don't even stand close to the free weights.13 -

Congratulations on your new addition to the family. While breastfeeding you shouldn't eat below 1800 calories a day. Breastfeeding burns between 850 and 1000 calories a day. I'd hate for your little one to not get enough nourishment.

This was me before! After eating well and working out. I GAINED five pounds in the first threes weeks!!!!!!
Instead if giving up I kept doing it.
The next week I lost 5 pounds. I then went on to lose 60 pounds in five months.
Dont give up. Eat healthy, work out. If you are at a calorie deficit you will end up losing weight!
Sometimes we retain water and crazy stuff......just keep going. It will happen for you!

OP, it didn't take you 10 days to gain the weight, and it will take more than 10 days to lose it. You need to be patient. This is a journey, not a sprint.0

P.S. I still don't know what a mustard peanut drink is. Anyone?
I feel fairly certain she's just missing some comma's.... mustard, peanut, drink etc...

Lifting the baby is whats doing it. Added weight from the new muscles build up. She's losing, but the muscle build up from baby lifting is throwing off the numbers.0

I think either commas or the word "or" were implied: (mustard, peanut, drink that goes into...); (mustard or peanut or drink that goes into ...). Basically saying EVERYTHING is logged.

One would think, but no, she's confirmed that's an actual drink she makes.0 -
I feel like I need popcorn for this thread (logging it, natch)

@jwcanfield & @tac_ur_it - Nope. She confirmed that it's a drink that she makes.0

What even is this thread at this point?0

There has to be one at every post... NO..that is not a thing.

Yup obligatory starvation mode comment and the added bonus of a diet soda has tons of sodium comment.
It's like MFP Board Bingo!3 -
How does a standard thread like this turn into... that?0

Not losing weight doesn't always mean you're eating too much. If she's eating too little her body will go into starvation mode and then she won't lose weight either. Everyone is different and you have to figure out what works for you.
OMG there is soooo much bad info on this thread it astounds me! Starvation mode is not a thing, if it was, anorexics wouldn't die. Use some logic. You aren't the only one but this just stuck out and I didn't want to quote all the bad advice given. I'm beginning to think that MFP isn't so great after all. I'm starting to create a spreadsheet of foods I eat, and the proper amounts/calories per serving so I can create my own menu/database and keep accurate track of macros and nutrients as it seems MFP entries are so off.

And if we wait until Friday for someone to bump this and say "you're all mean", everyone wins!8 -

Truth. I once stood next to a barbell while I was texting and checking in on Facebook at the gym after doing some stretching in the squat rack and now I look like The Hulk. I'm told I'll turn into a butterfly next though, so even though I'll lose my thumbs and be unemployable I'll at least be pretty.6 -
You said, "My Tom is due shortly though," - meaning, you're expecting soon? If so, 1300 calories may not be sufficient during pregnancy and most woman gain (without trying) in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy due to the baby's growth - this could explain no weight loss.0

Tom = time of the month. In other words - her period. Meaning no baby.0 -

I went back and skimmed the thread and OP never mentions that she's pregnant, only breastfeeding. Ofc, I may be confusing the other 16 pregnancy threads with this one.0 -

I don't get it especially because I have a lot of weight to loose I thought it would drop a lot quicker.
I know how you feel, I'm in the same boat. I stopped logging my calories a few days and binged yesterday, I just feel like giving up!! I'm going to push myself to start again tomorrow. Stay strong, you'll get there xxx0 -

Well yeah, that's what no baby means. She's not pregnant. That's why I said she's not pregnant. Because she never said she was pregnant. The poster above me was saying she was having a little boy named Tom. Tom isn't the baby its her period.0 -

I am new to this myself, just wanted to offer what I have learned about my eating.
this is totally ridiculous.1 -
Focus on process goals, not outcome goals.
Learn to find joy in the process.
If you depend on a number on the scale to be the determining factor in if you are making progress or not, you're gonna have a bad time.
On another note, you might find this interesting. http://leanmuscleproject.com/how-whooshes-impact-your-weight-loss/

I don't have a scale. I measure everything I eat. When my cereal says 1 cup I use one cup. When all my chicken calories is already stated per chicken breast so I use that. I measure my oatmeal. I eat the amount of peanuts it says for calories, I have Annie's gluten free granola bars and Lara bars as a lunch or breakfast which states the calories and usually always chicken wrap chicken salad chicken on a flat out or Turkey burger for dinner0

Snh. Diet sodas and flavoured waters do NOT have a lot of sodium in them.
