If you change nothing, nothing changes.2

If you do what you've always done, you will get what you've always got.3

(Insert time frame here) will come anyway...
makes me realise that time doesn't stop for anyone and I have already wasted too much time being overweight and unhappy! It's now, later or never... I want it now 5 5

Another one that's helped me is 'There will still be chocolate tomorrow'...
helps me with moderation, I don't have to eat all the chocolate today!9

            My favourite:
"It's not about how bad you want it. It's about how hard you're willing to WORK for it."3

"Do it for the holy *kitten*, you got hot".3

If someone says they can't lose weight, they just don't want it bad enough.1

            This is an awesome thread!
"What you say will speak to your kids. What you do will scream to them."
Oscar Wilde - "To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people only exist, that is all."
Patrick Rothfuss (one of my favorite authors) - "Then, since all my other options seemed to be exhausted, I decided it would be best if I fell off the roof." and "A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of quiet introspection."
Basically, I see too many people with regrets when faced with death or near-death. I don't want regrets. I want to live, and show my son what it means to live. I want to be strong and fit (in all aspects of myself) and DO things. Even if it means jumping off a metaphorical roof to do it. I don't see any other option for this life.6

"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."
It's from Voltaire, but I saw it in Gretchen Rubin's book "The Happiness Project." She says that the 2 miles you DO walk is better than the 5 miles you DON'T run. I use this to keep things in perspective and not beat myself up if I slip up in my fitness/nutrition routine.12

My grandmother used to say this. And she lived by it. (With an incredible sweet tooth to boot!) 1 1

Your body is not your enemy to be conquered and wrestled into submission. Eat well and exercise because you deserve to be strong and healthy. Self-hate is poor motivation. Be patient and kind to yourself, for that will carry you through discouragement and frustration.
 - No idea who said it. It was on a poster and I took a picture of it.4

"A goal without action is delusion."
There are several variations of that saying but it's rooted in a Japanese proverb.2

"Nobody is thinking about you. They're thinking about themselves, just like you." It helps me remember that I'm doing this for ME, not other people9
