I put on a lot of weight around my midsection and it's taken a 16kg loss to see the natural curve of my hip again (not the bulge/bump at the side). My hourglass is back!12
-
I fit into a size 4 dress (it was a line as I am a size 8/10 pants) but still haha size 48
-
Scale hasn't moved in WEEKS... But, yesterday I tried on two of my "too small" work dresses and a pair of size 10 jeans (currently wearing a 12) -- all fit really well and looked great. Even though the scale isn't moving, my weight lifting has been firming and reshaping things. My *kitten* has never looked better!!13

I went shopping last night and had to put a few things back because they were too big! I also bought skinny jeans and LOVE the way my legs look in them.7
-
Finally tried on a pair of jeans that was a size down and they were a little loose! Also completed day one of the C25K and didn't die.9

Out of the "morbidly obese" category into "obese". Im so excited to be "overweight", lol18

I thought it was my back injuries that were keeping me from spending time playing piano seriously. Yes, and no. Yes, the injuries made practice painful. Losing weight however did what years of recovery did not. I can now sit at a piano for 2-3 hours a day. I'm ecstatic.
That is WONDERFUL! Congratulations!3 -
Madwife2009 wrote: »I think that my DH paid me a compliment yesterday - I was making some comment about how much weight I still need to lose. DH said that compared to last year I am "positively slimline" and then went onto say that I am no longer the fattest person he sees wherever we go. I didn't take the conversation any further as I wasn't quite sure how to take that last comment - was it a compliment or was he being judgmental? Hmmm . . . .
Yeah, I wouldn't have taken that backhanded compliment any farther, either.5 -
Last weekend I tried on a pair of size 12 jeans from the limited outlet store, and was excited to not only fit them but they were too big. Unfortunately they didn't have a 10 so I left empty handed. I was out at another outlet store today and they had a limited! I went in...and bummer no size 10 again, but they had an 8. I'm primarily fitting in 12s now, with some brands still being a little snug so in now way did I think I was a 10 much less an 8. I decided to just try on the 8 to see if I could even get them over my thighs/butt....and OMG I can fit an 8!!!!!! They fit perfectly, and were sooooo comfortable.
I had a goal to be a size 10 for my vacation next week...and even though the bulk of the clothes are size 12, I'm proud to say that a size 10 pair of Express jeans and a size 8 pair of jeans from the Limited will be making the trip too!21 -
I graduated from college this weekend (a success all in itself) but I also noticed that I wasn't shying away from taking pictures with anyone! The pic on the left is me in September, starting to feel like I needed to make some changes - of course I didn't, until March, but I've lost 16 pounds and see such a huge difference even in just my face.

A piece of lingerie that was way too tight for me is real loose!12

My 16 year old son challenged me to an arm wrestle and thought he would whop me. I'm in my early 50s and currently on day 24 of the 30 Day Shread video. He put up a gallant fight but I was the victor thanks to the weight lifting I've been doing on the 30DS!24

My resting heart rate is down to about 53. It was in the 65-70 range 3 months ago!
I also got into a size 10 skirt COMFORTABLY yesterday! Single digit sizes, here I come!14 -
One of my pairs of work pants is now too big to wear! They'll drop right off my hips unless I have a super tight belt on. And when standing in them, none of the fabric touches my legs!
It's a huge improvement given that those were always my go-to pants because they were wide around the waist.9 -
Over the weekend my boyfriend's mother was asking me what I was up to because I had 'obviously' lost some weight.
Plus, while sitting on the couch with my legs crossed I noticed I could see my left kneecap, rather than just a rounded curve!
It's changing...

Decided to cave and get some junk food from the vending machine. It was almost empty and didn't have what I was after. Went to the next building, it too didn't have what I wanted. I chose not to get anything because it wasn't the junk food I wanted.20

I am into the 3 pair of quick drying zip off pants in my drawer. Just into. They zip up but are still a bit too tight.
This is huge for me as I was up 2 sizes from this-and have just given the larger pants away.
It's been a few years-like 5 snce I have fir these size 12s.8 -
NSVs over the weekend:
- Refused a very chocolaty fudgey brownie a mall vendor was trying to sell me on while I was trying to buy my daughter a small cookie. When he kept going on about how fresh they were I told him I have diabetes (I don't) and he finally stopped.
- Tried on a pair of shorts in a size that I previously couldn't squeeze into and they fit.
- Stuck to my iced coffee with coconut milk order even though I really wanted a frap
- Ordered beef and broccoli with extra veggies instead of rice while the rest of the family ordered lo mein, general tso chicken and lots of deep fried goodies
Goals I have for the rest of May:
- Continue bike riding and gain more confidence and balance while riding
- Try 1 new healthy recipe, preferably a new salad. I keep sticking to the same thing which is getting a little boring
- Eat less cheese and find a new type of fat. Perhaps homemade salad dressing with olive oil, using more butter, etc. Reason being is dairy seems to be too "binding" for me, a low-carb fathead pizza made me bloated for 2-3 days even though it was very good. 170g of cheese is just too much cheese7 -
Someone told me I look like I am 18, but really I am 28!. Also my favorite sweat pants are falling down!!! Wooo hooo!13

Holy crap I just realized I'm out of the morbidly obese category and into the "severely obese" category! Yay! I know it doesn't sound good compared to some people but considering I started in a high 40s maybe even 50 It's great for me so far. I'll take that NSV any day.
Congrats to both of us lol!32 -

The regular ladies XL clothes I tried on fit yesterday. I can't remember the last time I shopped in a section other than plus-sized (other than Old Navy and their crazy inconsistent sizes).
And I dropped off three donation trash bags full of old clothes. Adios!11 -
lost another half inch off my waist!10

I had cataract surgery last Wednesday. While waiting to be wheeled into surgery, they had me hooked up to various monitors. I kept setting off the heart rate monitor. Why? They had the minimum set at 50, and my supine resting heart rate kept dropping to 48/49. Diagnosis: The surgeon confirms this is fitness-induced bradycardia! (To those who are worried, I've been fully checked out in the past, and have no/zero/nada symptoms of cardiac anomalies. I'm extremely active, especially for a 60-year-old woman. And I seem to have dropped a few more beats in resting rate now that the heart that used to power an obese-but-active body is now powering a tinier me.)
I spent quite a bit of time kicking my feet above the gurney, just to make the "ding-ding-ding" noise stop.18 -
Being able to comfortably fit into my clothes again!4
-
Tried on some of my pre-pregnancy shorts today, even though I'm a few lbs above pre-pregnancy weight...and they are loose! It's amazing how much lifting weights can change body shape. Yay!
