Grapefruit juice, apple cider vinegar and honey drink

I'm not making it up and I'm not selling anything. Just simply stating it is good for the liver. Are you going to drop weight if you drink grapefruit juice.... No, you have to have a calorie deficit for that to happen. Is it going to help flush your liver? YES. Grapefruit has liver cleansing agents like vitamin C and other antioxidants and phytonutrients called limonoids that helps toxic compounds to excrete from the liver by making them more water soluble. It also has naringenin, which helps the liver function.JosetteandBill wrote: »The grapefruit will help.

If you are taking statins or meds for seizure or migraine control, grapefruit can have adverse effects. Since grapefruit and grapefruit juice and honey are high in sugar, it hardly seems to make any sense that adding vinegar to the mix would magically make a concoction of the three a fat burning tool. Think this out all the way to its logical conclusion.4

So anyone who is on medication who can't eat or drink grapefruits is doomed?2 -

I don't agree with what JosetteandBill is saying, but that's not what she is saying either. Please don't make this even more antagonistic than it needs to be. I'm all for reading interesting discussions, but deliberately putting words into people's mouths (words into posts I guess here) isn't going to facilitate anything.5 -

Source strongly needed there, JosetteandBill. I guess you can just keep saying the same exact thing over and over, but that's not proof and it doesn't make what you're saying any truer by repeating it.4 -

I'll simplify it for you.
"I have no idea what I'm talking about, so I'll keep repeating myself. And when asked for evidence, I will provide none, as you probably already guessed would happen."17 -

Nope. In fact it impairs liver function
A usual single exposure to grapefruit juice appears to impair the enteric, but not the hepatic, component of presystemic extraction of oral midazolam. Recovery is largely complete within 3 days, consistent with enzyme regeneration after mechanism-based inhibition. 6′7′-Dihydroxybergamottin was verified as a potent mechanism-based inhibitor of midazolam α-hydroxylation by CYP3A in vitro.

According to WEBMD (a fairly reliable source of factual data on health related matters) Grapefruit has been used for everything from Asthma to Yeast Infections.
However, it also shows that there is Insufficient Evidence as to its health benefits for any of the treatments it's used for.
So, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it has the same effects as any other citrus fruit - it's a mild diuretic, as is vinegar and honey makes it go down easier, taste-wise.
So, having a diuretic + a diuretic = weight loss! As in, fluid.
What happens is you will pee more and shed your body of more water weight.
However, if your body is already at an acceptable water percentage, this will dehydrate you. No bueno.
So, what's the best solution? This is going to sound insane but it really works, I swear!
Go to your doctor. Ask him if you're presenting with any edema. If you are, ask him if he feels a mild diuretic pill, once daily will help.
The best part of all?
Not having to drink that crap.
Not into doctors? I dig it. Homeopathic remedies have helped us live to be the ripe old age of 40 back in the old days, so why not use it now?
Instead of seeing some evil wicked pharmaceutical happy doctor, DRINK MORE WATER. It will actually kick start your body into shedding excess water weight instead of storing it up, as it will feel it's getting more than enough and will not store it as much.7 -

From that site Performing a liver cleanse at least twice a year will eliminate any foreign substances that may be trapped in your liver.
If you have foreign substances trapped in your liver for 6 months I really think you need a doctor, not a cleanse.18 -

I like having open discussions with people. It's fun and it's a good way to enjoy other people's opinions. You have to see that maybe this website you're reading isn't really what you think it is, right? It's easy to read all the articles but miss the fine print.10
