And the pic was taken after running 5 miles at 19°F.

Me, my daughter and a trek
As a mountain climber, this is absolutely one of my favorites. It literally sent chills of excitement down my spine when I saw it. Thanks, EZ!

Here is mine. #GymSelfie, lmfao. It reads: Getting in shape so that by the summer, I can pass my PAT and be able to be an EMT and lift patients into my rig.

A LOT of women love the book New Rules of Lifting for Women. It covers a lot of information and can help you get started. If you have the funds, another option is to get some help from a personal trainer. If you don't, google and youtube are also great sources for tips on proper form and mechanics.
There is also a great forum on here http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/10118-eat-train-progress that has a wealth of information.
The biggest tips... feel free to start slow. You don't have to go crazy right from the start. Add as you go. Get comfortable. Don't worry about your "numbers" - do the weight that is comfortable, and yet challenging. And before you challenge yourself too much - make sure your form is good.
My best learning came from taking a video of my form from different angles and then asking my MFP friends for tips.
GOOD LUCK! You've got this!3 -

Thank you so much. I do have that same book. I'll see about a personal trainer to get me started, then eventually I can go solo.0 -

It is everyone's job to inspire others in our lives to greatness every day, but before we can do that we have to inspire ourselves first. When we shoot for the moon and make it, others will notice and follow our path. It is then we have succeeded. So gut it out and set that example. You'll thank yourself later. I promise you you will.3

man, i really needed this thread today - 2016 has been a year of injuries and illness - now I've got A LOT of motivation...Time to pull out the snowshoes - later all
Back again...thank you again everyone, the walk in the woods was just what I needed...losing my keys (which were on a lanyard around my neck) in the snow when I pulled my scarf off was not...good thing it was close to the house and I only had to backtrack a little to find them5 -
