What nobody tells you about losing weight

Since I lost weight Ive had these urges to Run!!! Like Forest Gump. It builds slowly then It gets unbearable, especially when Im forced to keep still or wait. Maybe Its todays coffee. It feels like being a racehorse at the starting gate waiting for starting gun to go off. (yes, i know this is a movie line). I want to run. I want to run. I want to run. I want to run. NOW!!!
Post Script.
Ive already have had two people tell me this morning (just as I walked in) to "Stop losing weight, Already."23 -
Requiring less medication! I have lost 20 pounds and started feeling dizzy. Realized my blood pressure was consistently low. Now taking half the medication for high blood pressure that I used to, hoping to eliminate it all with losing more weight!36

Yes! I had someone ask me if I was sick because of the weight loss....when I said "excuse me?", she said "well some people drop a lot of weight when they're sick."
Same here. Someone asked if I had cancer :-(
OMG how rude
Missed opportunity. Say Yes and ask for donations for Doctors Bills (cruises, powertools or handbags, shoes)..

That as I lose another dress size to make use of clothes I buy for that size quickly or I will find that I had wasted money. I had bought some new bras when I went from size 20 to 18. I put them on one morning to find that they were again too big, darn it!7

The amount of "lap" I've gained!20

A trip to Goodwill every 2 weeks to re-donate the clothes you bought 2 weeks prior is fun and not costly...you get a new wardrobe every 2-3 weeks and it's cheap and nearly painless.

Not only am I getting fit, but my dogs are too now that I take them for walks every day instead of just letting them out in the yard (boy, was I lazy!)
Also, I've found that it's really easy to locate your car in a huge parking lot when you park in the spot furthest from the door.39 -
I don't know if anyone else has felt this, but I felt pretty silently judgmental today toward a couple of girls talking about their (unhealthy) weight loss plans. One was super proud of herself for only eating a sandwich and nothing else the day before, and the other was talking about how she starts gaining weight if she eats more than 600 calories in a day. I don't know either of them well enough to say anything, but it just amazed me how willing they were to encourage each other's desire to starve themselves, especially since neither of them is all that overweight. I've always been more of a "live and let live" kind of person, so it surprised me how much it bothered me.24

I like how my clothes feel more comfortable.

I never realized how a shorter dress, while looking great, makes me feel super self conscious. And how many men check out a woman in a short red dress. HOLY COW!30

That your hands can get DOMS from lifting, just like the rest of you... lol13

I was not prepared for the hormonal roller coaster ride. Seriously. It's like being a teenager again.
I've spoken to my doctor about it a few times, to no avail. Unfortunately, feeling slightly over-emotional a lot of the time has made it difficult to enjoy having lost weight, and has had a dampening effect on my quality of life. I'm not done yet, either, and have about 30 lbs left until I am.
Anyone else experiencing this? Does it improve? Does your body just have to get used to being smaller and more efficient? Or should I be more insistent with my doctor?10 -
I never thought I'd lose weight in my ear lobes!!! I used to have a deep crease where my piercings were now the crease is gone!22

If you read back on this thread. You'll see that you're not the only one (Myself included). I feel like a teenager. Breaking out and all messed up mentally. Im usually a solid rock up to point of being a cold blooded reptile. Its a lot harder now to stay detached and reserved. People panic and I kept (past tense) my cool. Will it get better? Probably worse, I have 60-40 lbs to lose. Just take enjoyment that your body is slowly approaching where you want it to be and your in control. Even if you had Bypass, remember not everyone with this surgeries achieves weightloss. This weightloss is all you.
Lastly as you hormones get put into a smaller bucket your fertility will probably improve. You were warned

Recognize this. Feeling at times as if PMS has a different on and off switch too. But I am gettign there slowly again - my loss ration has reduced and with the excersise going up I seem to be hitting a balance again, at least for now.7 -
Family members now feel as though they can pat your stomach whilst making a weight related comment5

Just because you loose a lot of weight and are healthy, doesn't magically make your body issues disappear. if you're built with bigger hips/booty, that doesn't go away just because you get thin. Your boobs will, though!
Still worth it. Health is what's important to me.
Word! Some of us are BORN to rock the hips, booty and boobs of a Goddess. It's the belly, back and thigh fat that's problematic, visually--at least for me. Yes, my butt could stand to be a good deal more toned, but looking at pics of my own mother when she married my dad, it was evident that nicely rounded hips and breasts run in my family. So, I'm working out to perfect the parts that are, health-wise, a danger point, and visually, not-so-aesthetically pleasing. Anything else is "gravy." ;-)13 -

How your taste buds will change. I just tried a small forkful of chocolate oreo cake and found it too sweet. In fact I had to drink a glass of water to wash the sweet taste out of my mouth! It was almost like eating a spoon of pure sugar. I used to love stuff like that but haven't had cake in ages as I didn't think it was worth the calories. Now I can't even stand the sweetness of stuff like that.40

I grew up being mocked a lot for being fat, so now, in general, I avoid making contact with strangers when I am walking around and if someone whistles, my first thought is that they are making fun of me. That's the bad part.
The good things - I enjoy life more. I try new things that I never would have before. The best thing though, is that I have inspired both of my parents to eat better and both have lost weight.
Yep. 91 pounds down and the first man that whistles at me is getting punched.11 -
I don't know whether I'm getting more confident about what I wear out in public or if i just don't give a *kitten* anymore19
