I've got a cutback for the first half of this week, then I start tapering the last week of August. The math says 217, but reality says to aim for 200. Gotta have some leniency with those summer miles!
6 weeks and 1 day until marathon #5! Where did the entire summer go?!11 -
The aim for August will be 220 km (136 miles). But I still got a run tomorrow
to fill in my July quota.
And you better watch out folks. My new kinvaras came with the latest tech in anti-gravity propulsion.

It's only £10.00... and a shitload of running. I want @Elise4270 to have that medal too.4 -
Ooh, the autocensor didn't pick up that one!11
-
In for 80 Miles for August after a decent July6
-
Hi all!
My target is 70 km. 20 km up from July challenge. I am feeling excited as I would start running 10 km in a stretch!! Wish you all successful and injury free August!!5 -
Thanks @Stoshew71 ! Love this group! So motivating.
Love the picture of the new shoes @AdrianChr92 !
@Elise4270 - can't want to see you running again!
I'm sticking with 75 for August (my goal that I passed the last two months) ... but I'm back home now and the biking is going to be increased, so probably less running.

How does it happen that it isn't August yet and I'm starting on page 2?
Date Miles MTD ------ ----- ------- Aug 2 0.0 0.0

I am new to the group.
My mileage is going to vary week to week as I am training for a 15k in September, so my goal is 3 runs a week- one long, one interval speed and one interval hills.5 -
OK so I joined July and then totally forgot to update! Happy to report a good month though. I reckon I made 40 miles last month building from a slow 3 miles to a steady 5.2 miles in 54 mins this morning which I am really pleased with as I was out all of March and April with pneumonia. Its my 10 k next Sun, then I have a 100k bike ride later in August so running may take a back seat for a couple of weeks but I'll aim for another 40.7
-
I am really going to challenge myself. I said 100km for July and thanks to my new running group I did 145. That is 90miles and with a weekend less in August my calculations say 90 would be my expected for August. But...I am going to go for 100miles just because it sounds good and is about 10% uplift which seems reasonable. I have more than doubled my distance since joining in this group. Thank you to you all, big distance runners and beginners alike. Good luck for August everyone.10

I doubt I can do 100 miles right out of the gate. It's £15 for us out of the UK, still not bad!
I walked a few miles last night with DH and he tried to drop me off at the house twice because i was limping. Uh no! I always limp.. 3 miles gimpin', but I did it.7 -
Even though it's not August, I'm going to post this here....My rest day brain is trying to get me to kill myself with an idea...I'm not going to let it, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.......
Am I insane for letting my brain even try to talk me into a Full this fall? I'm 90% sure I WON'T do it....but that 10% that says I should use my second HM as a shortened Long Run ad go for the full 2 weeks later is nagging me.5 -
Good luck everyone! August is here and it's gonna be great! (I hope)6
-
New to the group and restarting my running goals. So, I will start with 80 miles for August-20 per week.7
-
Love seeing so many new faces! Also good to see we didn't drive off anyone last month LOL8
-
I'm new to this challenge also, I will say 35 miles for August! Good luck everyone!!7
-
Starting in the morning! I am going for a goal of 3 miles a day, stretch goal of 5 miles. I've been making 2 miles, so I should be able to do this.6

@MNLittleFinn If this is an actual question, and not just an airing of thoughts, then I think the most important question here is: How long have you been running? Didn't you start fairly recently? I would not recommend doing a marathon this fall. You've had good success with your races this summer, but the demands of marathon training -- in sheer volume and the pounding on your legs -- is more than your bones and muscles should take on right now, in my opinion. Continue to strengthen your systems through the fall and the winter and then you can think about a full next year like you originally planned. Your cardiovascular system adapts far quicker than your muscular/skeletal systems to endurance running, so while you may feel capable from a CV standpoint, you don't want to risk muscular or bone injuries because you did too much too soon. Take your time. There's no need to rush from a half to a full.13 -
I'll try too (but since running is not really my thing and I don't run straight through miles, I set the bar lower lol). Good luck everyone
