Flying Monkeys has a guy that apparently burned 6133 calories yesterday....that's just crazy!
How is that possible?! Did he exercise ALL day? I'm still trying to figure out how people can reach 2000 cals burned. My highest since we started is just under 1000 and that was when I wasn't at work.0 -

hahah idk I'm wondering is that was the total after he doubled it.... Speaking of, Friday is going to be another Double Miles day FYI!!!0 -
Just looked at the map. The Flying Monkeys are presently out in the lead, we're in 6th place.0

Meh, I guess it's possible. Regardless, I figure if someone cheats to win this race, they're probably going to end up losing in the long run! Maybe that was a doubled count...it is possible, I guess. He could have been in a volleyball tourney or some other kind of sport's tournament. I burn 500 calories per hour playing sand volleyball.
gcprl - On the days I get to 1250, I do two hours of ultimate frisbee or an hour or so of bike riding for 850 calories burned, then I go home and do my workout video for nearly an hour for another 350 or so, then sometimes I clean my house for another couple hundred depending on how messy it is. I use an HRM on all of it to give me a good idea of how much I'm burning. My house has never been this clean!0 -

Thanks! My vacation starts on Saturday so I'll add a lot more of walking the dog...she's going to be exhausted! Plus I plan on going kayaking on vacation. I started doing a half hour of biking everyday but upped it to a whole hour for this challege.
In the end we are all going to look good and feel good so there is no point in lying. (But it'll feel great to win!)0 -

I don't think I've EVER burned 1000 calories in a day! I don't have time! I cone home from work, workout for an hour, make dinner, and maybe have an hour or so to hang out with my husband before its time to go to sleep. I guess I could amp it up a little more on the weekends, and I do alot of gardening and housework then that I don't count. What's annoying is that the more weight I lose, my calorie burn seems to go down. I started doing more weight training last month and that seemed to kick it up a bit, but I can't get more than 9-10 cals/min. I'm not sure if thats average or not. I'm currently doing Turbo Fire which is really high intensity cardio, so Idk how I could get it any higher.
What's this guy's weight? If he's bigger that would explain a higher burn. My husband will burn about 1.5 to 2 times more than me in the same amount of time.0 -

Happy hump day crew! Looks like several of us took a much needed rest day yesterday, so the "theft" of another rower came at great time . We earned an extra 23 miles from our attack on the Flying Monkey's ship. I think that crazy guy took his rest day yesterday too:ohwell: oh well!!! We did about 145 total yesterday.
I just sent them in so we're probably not updated on the map yet, but as of last night we're hanging in there pretty good. We're about in the middle of the pack. Keep at it guys you're all doing awesome!0 -
The members of Flying Evil Monkeys are averaging about 1000 cals burned each day with a few outliers. It's incredible! I was going to take a rest day on Friday but since it's a double calorie day I have to do something!
We have to make sure we all burn calories on Friday...make that your Happy Hour!
Today's my Zumba day so that'll give me an extra 700 plus my walk to the train and back.
Let's haul *kitten* Hull Yeah....We can do it!!!!!!

Same here, I generally just do a workout video on Fridays....looks like I'm gonna have to "hull yeah" my booty to the bike trail and get a 700 burn in there as well. ))))0 -
Quick run this morning 463 calories =9.26 miles0

Friday I'll be hitting the gym hard and then doing some cross-fit- those are usually my big burn days! Hopefully we get a couple double days next week... my child will be visiting grandparents and my husband will be in the field- so all I'll do is workout and try to get in some nice long runs!
not going to log my total for today yet, possibly heading for a run this evening again.0 -
I apologize to my Hull Yeah teammates for not posting big numbers. After the 4th of July weekend I came down with the stomach flu or food poisoning (7 people sick so far). After my husbands bday tomorrow I promise to start posting some impressive numbers.
Good job to all and let's get after it!!!0 -

I am soooo confused about this Sunday challenge!!! hahah. I'll have to keep my eye on the thread for more details.
Obviously I'll need you guys to think about what workouts you'll do on that that day and PM me an estimate of what you think you'll burn so I can make an educated bet. I'd say post 'em on here, but there may be spies about....
This one's a little nasty in that we can LOSE miles if we bet wrong! Read through it and let me know if you've got any ideas for strategy or just understand it more than I do!0 -
I have 50.44 miles to date. did 8 miles today!0
-
So I was invited to go play some pick up volleyball tonight for a couple hours - I worked out from 6PM until 9:30PM I wish it was Friday so this did more for us!
725 calories biking, 750 calories sand volleyball = 1475 = 29.5 miles!0 -
Did another 2 miles, so I'm at 52.44.0
