I'm 35, live near Philadelphia, and I'm halfway through my 75lbs weight loss goal but totally plateaued and could use friendly support. After recovering from a back injury, I'm having trouble finding new ways to exercise and motivation to get out there. Looking for ladies in their 30s with similar goals. Who will join me to motivate, encourage, and celebrate each other's progress?!

Hi! I'm 33 and also live in Philly. What kind of back injury and what are your limitations? I had lower back problems off and on earlier this year so I know how limiting and frustrating it can be. I'm about 15 pounds from my theoretical goal weight but after being stuck here for 4 years now I might just need to accept that this is the weight for me. Good luck!5

I have exactly 20 to 30 pounds to lose. I've been on MF for years. going up and down 15 pounds by tracking calories, then i get burned out.
Currently, I'm two weeks into hitting it pretty hard. I changed my approach and realized I have to exercise to be at a constant deficit. I love food and that's not going to change. So, I started with joining Planet Fitness and work out in the late afternoon into the early evening. Now, exercise replaces the two hours where I start eating and thinking about food and cocktails. So far ..so good. This week I want to fine tune what I've been doing and replace other bad behaviors with healthy behaviors and hopefully get this done and get off the yo yo.5 -
Hey! I'm 37 and in NC. Have 40-50 pounds to lose, trying to do it the "right" way by making a lifestyle change, not a quick-fix diet. I realize this will not happen overnight and I'm not going to be so strict to not enjoy myself along the way. I won't give up if I have one bad day or bad weekend or bad week.2

Thanks for those who reached out. I've sent requests to everyone else. 30 is like that invisible line that seems to kill our metabolism. Suddenly we're not indestructible, and for those with kids, it's a whole other battle. So, let's be there for each other ladies! We're going to overcome 30s and hit our goals strong!7

I'm 35 and have lost about 30 of the 70-ish lbs I need to lose. My weight loss has stalled for a few months but I know it's because I need to do better about not going over my calorie goal on the weekends.2

I'm 31 and would like to lose about 50lbs- jeez it sounds so overwhelming just typing it. My biggest challenge is the pressure I get from my family (especially since I am single and of course they say no one will ever marry me like "this") .. It makes me really mad bc I don't want to lose weight for them, they should accept me the way I am even if I never lost another pound. Ironically, when they stop pressuring me is when I tend to lose the most anyway. I know it's counterproductive to not want to do something good for yourself bc others are demanding it, but it's really hindering me. What can I do?8

A lot of people don't understand what an enormously difficult battle it is to lose unwanted weight. The more we are stressed, the harder it is. So, negative feedback is probably making your journey more arduous! Looking at almost 75lbs as my goal was totally overwhelming and seemingly impossible. As many of these fabulous ladies will agree, it's a one day at a time, one pound at a time goal. Celebrate a 5 lbs loss. Celebrate a week when you haven't lost but haven't gained! That's a huge accomplishment! You're in a great support network. We all have different ways and strategies to tackle our goals, but ultimately we are all looking to get to the same place, a healthier, happier you!7 -

Hey Nita, sorry to hear you're getting pressure from your family - that's really not nice at all and bad of them to do so. You should only lose weight if you need to for your health or for your happiness and self confidence. You look lovely on your pic so do it for yourself and nobody else. I'm 37 and single and very happy. I find it easier to lose weight now then when i'm with a partner because i'm in complete control of my diet and have my own self motivation to progress. Good luck x3 -
