Thank heavens I found something I can relate to! I have 100+ lbs to lose am 55 yo, but in my head I'm still a kid! Know what I mean? Lol I just recently started Jenny Craig, but I still need my motivators as I can be a pretty good motivator to others, just not myself. Lol So let's get this done and help each other out. I'm going to be here for awhile, at least 10 months. That's sugar coating it, more like a year. So I'll be here to help anyone who needs/wants it.14

You guys make me happy today! I'm trying blogging too, you guys are welcome to check it out. It's going to be one heck of a journey.2

I am coming in late, but this sounds like a good group I am a beginner blogger...I mean really a beginner
I would like to try blogging out as I need support with like minded people. I am ready for a journey into a healthy new me!!!5 -
Nice to see someone new. I'm a new blogger too. Glad to be on the journey with you!0

Good Morning Boomers! How's everyone doing today? Ok, day 2. I ate a low-calorie, but satisfying breakfast. Planning to workout after work (we'll see how that plays out I'm famous for flaking out last minute). All in all, I'm taking it one day at a time. I told my friends at work what I'm doing with this discussion group and my blog, which hopefully will give me some accountability at work. Work is where the calories can really pile on. We believe we need a treat all the time, and I'm usually first to put my hand in the cookie jar. Hope today is different. Any one weighing in today? Hey, we're here to support each other, so good or bad, bring it!2

How's everybody doing? Day 5 for me. My goal for today...stay within my allotted calories and exercise, that's about all I can handle on a Monday. Needed my coffee today...black. Have a great day everyone! You can do it!3

Today is day 3 for me. I would like to join this group. I will be 50 this year and have 100 lbs to lose. I would like to be a part of a group that I can relate to. Most of my friends and neighbors are either several years younger or older than myself.0

Welcome! Your perfect for the group. I need all the support I can get. You have my support too. Take it one day at a time. Share on your good and bad days, we have all had them. No judging in this group, only understanding and support. Hang in there!1

Hi I'm just starting this journey again. Today is day 2. Setting small goals. First is to lose 22 lbs. Just trying to get back to less junk & more fruits & veggies for this week. BTW 54 with 1 Grandbaby to chase & 1 on the way. Hoping we can do this together3

Welcome! So glad to have your support. We can do this together! Its nice to have people who understand. We come from the same generation. We're known as the sandwich generation. We take care of grand kids and our elderly parents, but are we taking care of ourselves? It sounds like we are all on the same track. We know we have to take care of ourselves so we can continue to enjoy our families for as long as we can. Nice to read all the success stories and the challenges too. Thanks for sharing your ideas...4

Day One for me, fit into the 50+ 50+ category! Would love to be able to move around with those grand babies rather than moan and groan while trying to get up from playing with them on the floor! And I really need to do this for myself!! Good morning everyone and have a great day4

Thanks for your postings. I'm on my 3rd day keeping track of calories using this app and it's working! I also love that I can keep track of my exercise. I feel like I'm being rewarded when I enter it and it gives me more calories!1

Since I started my new healthy eating approach on Monday , I've noticed that I have a more successful food day when I stop eating at 7 and get a good night's sleep. Ate dinner way too late tonight...:(2
-
Welcome! I enjoy the MFP app too. I learned the hard way about not tracking. For me if I'm not tracking I'm probably not paying attention to my eating, which means I'm probably eating too much. Its all relevant. I agree eating before 7p and getting enough sleep does wonders. Tomorrows a new day....2

May I join the group? 50 at the end of the month. Not sure how that happened....2
-
Thank you for you're welcome message . It's nice to know there's somebody in the same boat . It ended up being a really good day. Though I ate later than normal last night I did stay within my calorie count and lost a half a pound yesterday. Found a really great workout today and I'm feeling strong and in control again.1

Welcome to our newest members. Glad to have you on board. Yep, I know, before you know it your 50. I truly believe that the best is yet to come! Here's to good health in our 50's, 60's and on....1

I have been on this 2 months with really no effort I have lost 12 lbs just by controlling carbs with calorie count. Surprised how many Calories My Fitness wants me to eat, most days I don't hit the number. I am not looking for a quick fix but I figure 5lbs a month & I haven't given up too much, cept a lot of carbs, lol it's not that bad. Pickles & 35 calorie a cup popcorn R my go to snacks. I can't exercise I have a degenerative disc but I move all day long as I can so I am sure that helps. Like alot of you I have 75+ lbs still to lose. But heck I will take anything so my clothes fit good & I am healthy. Doing the Journey with U all I weigh myself on Tuesdays, we should all report weekly how we are doing. Nice to meet everyone.5

Hi, I really need this. I'm 56 years old and over weight. It's been so hard to lose the weight. It's been up or down. But I'm not giving up. Need s friends, maybe we could do this together.4
-
Hello, I am also late joining, but just found all of you. I have 40 pounds to lose . I am 55 next month and retiring so I am looking to also get strong, healthy, and fit .3

I wonder....Does anyone spin for exercise? I recently bought a spin bike and I love it so much that I would like to do it everyday or at least most everyday. Does anyone know if that would be okay to do? I heard a rumor that I shouldn't ride it more than 2 or maybe 3 times a week...but if it doesn't make me overly sore-that should be okay, right?1

Hi there, late in finding and joining. Please add me to your list2
