Wore previous jeans to work on casual Friday.13

I bought a pair of size 10 pants a couple of months ago. Yesterday I realized that they're baggy in the bum. I've only lost a couple of pounds in that time frame, but I started running. Apparently my body composition is shifting. I am always so focused on the scale that I almost missed this new nsv.20

I was able to make it through the day yesterday without eating a bunch of crap while I was angry at the world. No emotional eating. Lets hope I can make it through day two. I walked 24000 steps instead.32

A friendly lady who works in our corner shop looked me in the eye today and said " You know, I can see you've lost an awful lot of weight. You look really good." Now this is, relatively speaking, a stranger who sees me every few days, and for me it's a really objective marker of progress. It was kind of her to mention it. Inside me there was a tiny Hurrah32

I realized for almost two weeks I haven't had to have coffee or tea in the afternoon as a pick me up because I am too tired to make it through the afternoon. Lunchtime walks are paying off.22

Mindset change! Yesterday I 'earned' loads of calories through exercise, more than 1000, and I knew that I would be way under my calorie goal if I didn't get something else for dinner. When I was in the store, I initially picked up my favourite soft cheese and some 'fancy' crisps... then I looked at them, decided I didn't want to do that, and put them back on the shelves, opting to get some nuts instead. So pleased! This is one of the things I really struggle with sometimes. Working out, then 'tricking' myself into being OK with eating something bad afterwards. Nice to see a mental change as well as a physical one32

I ran my first half marathon!!41

Went to a theme park today and went on a ride for the very first time in nine years of visiting this park.
I never went on it before as I was too fat to fit on it . . . . my three-year old was very happy that I went on it with her today
Seeing her face made my day more than fitting on the ride!43 -
While lollygagging on MFP, I missed on an eight foot tissue toss attempt. A few minutes later without thinking, I bent at the knees and squatted to the floor to retrieve the tissue.
Just a few weeks ago I would have took a deep breathe, bent at the waist and likely grunted to accomplish the same task.29 -
Had two people tell me I was looking good on my walk today :-)20

Also!! My husband reached out and touched my collarbones and got the silliest little grin! Like "hey! Check these out!"20

Running 2 miles despite the cold weather!!!22

Yep, I too had a stranger at work stop me to mention how great I looked.. It made my day because she was SO serious like "what the hell; what did you do!?"... She remembered I'd "just had" the baby ( he is two so there really isn't a "just had" timeframe here) and wondered how the heck I'd gotten so "skinny"... I said well most people don't believe it, but MFP (counting calories) and tons of exercising (for my "toned" look). :-) Down 50 pds and mid BMI since July of last year... Been in a healthy range for at least eight months.. Just want this last bit of fat GONE.. So small deficit, weight training and a bit of cardio. :-)24

After a few years of having to take antacid pills twice a day I've suddenly within the last few days not had to take any.32

I had a huge NSV today!
I was walking/jogging downtown today when a very "friendly" young man yelled some comments from his car about how I would need to "move a lot faster than that if you dont want to be a fat *kitten* anymore".
2 months ago a comment like that would have brought tears, a quick departure home, and caused me to avoid going out in public to exercise again.
Today.. I smiled at him, and continued on my way. Theast couple months Ive started to grow way more comfortable in my own skin - way more vuable to me than numbers on the scale.76 -
Only 11lbs down (in 3 weeks) with at least 140 to go, but already jeans that were uncomfortable to wear are fine again, and even being cut for a pear-shape, a bit stretchy and fitted to the waist, might need a belt soon.
At the hairdresser yesterday, before I mentioned I had started dieting (again!), my hairdresser said "I could tell, this (the cutting collar) overlaps more than last time." Bless her, she has been with me through many a weight loss attempt. Note to self, add neck measurement to progress record.
Small steps....the 11lbs is largely water, I know, and being so large the first bit always come off easily, it gets harder from now on, but the mind set seems much more positive this time.29 -
I told myself I wast buying any lol but I broke down....you feel so good when you but on a pair that fit. I buy one pair of jeans and one dress pant and they are tight in the store and at the end of the month they are soo loose everyone deserves one pair of good fitting pants!! I try thrift shops but can't always find them in my size.8 -

I've been trying for the last couple of weeks to not need to buy any... but it's getting ridiculous. I'm going to end up caving in to buy some. I have at least 3 pairs that are completely unwearable as they are huge. One pair that's almost at the end of when I can reasonably wear them and a pair that are still too tight that a friend of mine gave me.... I can't work 5 days a week with 1 pair of pants!!!
I only buy 1 pair of jeans at a time now. Recently the brand I like was super on sale (I think I got them for like $10-$12 each) so I got 1 pair of like 3 different sizes so that as they get too big I already have the size I need.
I have been looking at thrift stores around here but I can never find anything in my size and quite frankly some of the stuff I do find in my size are things that are in such bad shape I could not wear them to work.... I think right now there's a store I like for work pants that's having a sale. I'm going to go check it out and see if I can get a good deal on a couple pairs.
My NSV for today is that I wore a coat to work this morning that was too tight for me to wear at all in the spring... now it's borderline, might almost be too big. Luckily, I only buy coats in the spring when they're super on clearance so I only spent like $15 on it. Can't wait until next spring to see where I'm at and what coats I can find!12 -
Working on a 45 day challenge. Part of yesterdays challenge was to do 20 jumping jacks. I was nervous about this. A couple of months ago I tried jumping rope and I was out of breath after about 5 jumps. I did 20 1 handed jumping jacks and I wasn't out of breath, and could have easily did a lot more. The other hand was holding the girls in place. I didn't want a black eye. LOL25

It's been a great week for me!
1. I ran a personal best time 5K yesterday on my lunch hour;
2. I did "real" pushups for the first time (instead of on my knees);
3. I did real burpees as opposed to deconstructed ones; and
4. I had to retire a pair of pants because I'm now swimming in them!
BAM! Motivation level has been kicked up a notch!

Learning to accept and believe a compliment can also be an nsv
I may have inspired a friend to lose weight (we talked about it a lot) and she looks great. I can't take credit for it, but I'm happy that she's happier.

1. I am down to 1 pair of wearable work pants. I hate shopping so this is definitely a dilemma
2. I had to ask for a smaller shirt from my employer for our "outreach" days when we have to be in university identifiable gear. I went from an XL to an L, but its still a bit big. Likely it will shrink as they notoriously do, but it still feels good to know a M may have been an option.
3. It's getting cold and I broke out the favorite afghan and discovered both the SO and I fit under it comfortably and we don't have to steal it from the other during sleep. LOL15 -
