I started watching what I eat and exercizing on July 5th after hating how I felt and looked in a pic someone took of me. I was 9 months postpartum. Here's that pic before and now almost 3 months later I'm down 17lbs from 189 to 172. Excited and love my new lifestyle. Trying to reach my next small goal of 169

I'm 71 yo grandmother have lost 33 lbs since March another 7 lbs to next goal and maybe a few more after that. Do lots of walking videos and use kettlebell and dumbells, working out every day. Stuck at the moment keep losing and gaining same couple of pounds. Determined not to give up though31

5'2 here. I started 13/9/16 at 101kg (222lbs) and am currently at 94.2kg (207lbs). My goal weight is 60kg (132lbs), but it may change as I get closer. It's so inspiring seeing other short ladies killing it, and I can't wait to post my own fabulous progress pics one day!6

@spikeyhair - Go you! I like that you set small goals.
@grain91 Are you taking pics? Not necessarily to show on here but in sports bra/undies? I started my journey in April and didn't take any pics until July. I WISH so much that I had. They are good to put side by side on the days you want to give up so you can see the change! Good luck!
@hithisisili you look like you've lost way more than 17 pounds! Nice work!1 -
I'm 5'3 and heaviest 190 (or the last time I had weighed myself at that time). (Bottom picture sitting down) But this was from my sister's baby shower and I hated this before picture with a passion bc I didn't realize I had gotten THAT big. I'm glad it's just a before picture now and I didn't stay that wast for long. I most often hovered around 170-160 (striped shirt picture) I was a yo-yo dieter and always gained it back. Now I'm the bottom red dress pictures. I achieved this by gradually changing my lifestyle instead of cutting things cold turkey. I realized a lot of the food I ate didn't make me feel very good either. I switched out and cut back over time and now here we are! It's been a year and a half not gaining any weight back! I've either maintained or lost the whole time which is unheard of for me. I've also been working out for the past 5 months and have baby stepped it the whole way as well. I'm the healthiest I've ever been!

I'm 5'1. I started out at around 235 lbs (16.78 stone, 107 kg). I weighed myself at the dr's office a year before starting my weight loss plan. I was 230. I'm quite certain that I gained 5-10 lbs during that year. So I have NO IDEA of how heavy I got. I started on MFP in January of 2014. I did know what I was doing. Some days I was only eating 800 calories. After doing a lot of research, I upped my calories to 1200. Eventually, I found out how much I was actually supposed to be eating by using the IIFYM calculator. I worked out 5-6 days a week. I did mostly cardio and my weight routine only include 3lb weights. As I gained more knowledge, I added more lift days and heavier weights. I plateaued around 160 lbs. (73 kg. 11st 2lbs). Then I hired an online trainer. I started working out even harder and longer. I lost and an additional 25-30lbs. I think the key is to gradually cut out unhealthy food. I found delicious healthy recipes online. It takes awhile to get used to but I promise it gets a lil better. I really love the MFP forums because you gain more knowledge, you get to see similar people share their stories & people are supportive. I didn't have any support or guidance until I hired the online coach. It wasn't easy but perseverance, persistence and patience eventually pays off.40 -

Hello all -
I started my weight loss journey on 9/10/16. I have a pretty active lifestyle during the week walking my son 3.5 miles to school each day. On 3 of those days, I walk an additional 2-2.5 miles. Because of this activity, I eat around 1450 calories per day and try to cook most of those meals.
I typically eat 1 serving of processed carb/day (usually a slice of whole grain bread), the rest is fruit, veggies, nuts, eggs & meat. I also use whole fat diary as a condiment only. I love shaved Parmesan cheese, because it packs a flavor punch.
Please feel free to add me!5 -

I'm 5'2"
I started on here about two years ago shortly after turning 52. I've gone from walking with a cane to running every day and getting almost 20K steps most days. I also lift weights.
When I started I was bursting out of size 18's. I now wear size 0's.
I lost 70ish pounds the first year I was dieting and it took me a whole year to lose the next 23 pounds because I took quite a few maintenance breaks and weight loss slowed down significantly.
I'm pretty happy with my body where it is now, I'm just faffing about with body composition for vanity at this point. Whatever happens, happens.
Oh... one last thing. I haven't weighed this weight since grade school.24 -

Hey me too! lol I'm 5'3 and I started at 175, now 148, goal 130.2 -
5'1" Started at 180, now 138-140 (sigh), goal 130. I cannot for the life of me get the last 10lbs off. I feel fluffy and a 2-3lb gain makes me feel stuffed into my pants6

@grapaj
I TOTALLY know how you feel. I've lost 46 pounds in about 7 months and now I've slowed down to 2 to 3 pounds a month. Soooo slow and soooo frustrating. So, I feel you.
HOWEVER. What we need to remember is we have achieved a pretty big goal, losing over 40 pounds. That is nothing to sneeze at! Be proud! (I sometimes go back and look at my measurements or old pictures to remind myself that I have come a long way) I also think of how I felt this time a year ago. Just a suggestion.
Hang in there! You lost 40, you got the last 10, no problem!3 -

I'm 5'3" and began June 2013 at 245lbs. Mostly through weight training I have lost over 100lbs. Losing most of the weight within the first year and a half. Along the way fitness has become a passion and not just something I have to do but something I love to do.

I'm 5'3 and 50 years old. I started 3 years ago just wanting to get into shape. Somehow I became obsessed with bodybuilding. I'm in the best shape of my life. These pictures were taken after working out, so I look a little rough.

I am 5'3 and my before picture was in July of 2016 and took me about 7 months to be at 122lb by just changing the way I eat and cutting out alcohol completely.20 -
Wow, thank you ladies for posting these "short gal" success stories! You all have inspired me!!! I have a question though. A few people posted about body recomposition (building muscle while losing fat through training and calorie intake "cycling"). Is this something you can do WHILE you are trying to lose weight or AFTER you've gotten down to your goal weight? Anyone know? Here's a very helpful link someone posted earlier in the thread:https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/the-basics-of-body-recomposition-how-to-lose-fat-gain-muscle-at-the-same-time/
Thanks for any advice you can provide!0 -
Ladies you look Awesome! Thank you for the inspiration this morning.0

Weight staying the same last few months, but definitely getting more toned and lost a half-size. I will take that any day. Still have a few more lbs to goal.1
