Hamburgers ate horrible but donuts and candy bars are fine? Um ok. What exactly is wrong with hamburgers? You seem to be avoiding the question.
And btw I haven't eaten a big mac or regular soda in years but i do eat hamburgers and btw I look 15 years younger than my age.9 -

What university did you get your degrees from? Just curious about a journalism program that teaches you not to get your sources and a nutrition program full of pseudoscience like sugar causes diabetes.7 -

I DO NOT justify the crappy choices I make, but you guys cling to the right to make bad choices as some sort of birth right - and google the 70 plus additives, hormones and chemicals in fast food - you guys do know how to research what you put in your mouths, right? Or do you simply eat and tally up the magical CICO total?
Surf for images of Dr. Mark Hyman and Bill Clinton - this screams the reality of poor food choices over sound ones.
No the burden is on you since you keep saying how horrible big Macs are but can't list a single dangerous chemical in them.6 -

ok so what I want to know is if big macs and soda is so bad ,what makes coke, and krispy kreme donuts(sometimes 3 a day),and things like nutella and snickers okay? those things are loaded with sugar too, five guys burgers are fast food as well. I dont understand you telling us these things are bad for everyone, that they cause diabetes, wrinkles, etc yet you are eating these things but claiming not to? some days there are no entries at all.But yet we are mean and cruel? I dont get that at all3

TIL... google images of two totally different people can be used to justify a baseless argument because obviously it is their diet alone that determines how they look...2

I'm starting to think we're being trolled. It certainly doesn't make any logical sense.4 -

Exactly. That's what is so perplexing. It's one of thing if she was a misguided clean eater but she eats this stuff too. So I suppose she has wrinkles and diabetes?1 -

So are you saying that the difference between you and everybody you're criticizing is that you see these things as bad choices while you're eating them, and everybody else doesn't? And that somehow negates all these bad hormonal things that you claim happen from eating such foods?7 -

Please, come over my diary - after all, I leave it open for a reason - to keep me accountable.
I do not get what you guys are missing - the difference is that while I eat optimally 90 % of the time, I have no problem calling out the 10% of cookies, candy or donuts as bad, dangerous, unhealthy etc. Whereas many of you eat poorly 60% of the time, not acknowledging the reality of it all, and instead walk around proud because it fits into some formula.
It is all very Emporor's New Clothes in mindset, but really keep enabling each other - I mean it really will end in optimal health and longevity - it has to because it is CICO!
My food diary is especially unhealthy. I may die tomorrow! Oh no!2 -

You seem to like to make up statistics. You are sure that we, random people you have never met eat poorly 60% of the time? Um sure. Also your optimal nutrition is different than mine. I have crohn's disease which makes many "healthy" things unhealthy. If I ate a salad I would end up in the er. It would also increase the irritation and actual inflammation in my body.8 -

then you diary must be full of mistakes because some days its 2 donuts, nutella, candy, etc all in the same day, some days you dont log anything(some days its 4-5 in a row of no logging,so how do you keep yourself accountable on those days?. you claim you eat healthier yet very few days do I see that.as for you saying some of us eat poorly 60% of the time.if you diary is accurate then you are in the same boat as the rest of us.8 -

And as far as projecting thing on random people, many of you claimed a person you have not met was trolling simply because I take issue with ingesting crap - kinda hypocritical, wouldn't you say?
No, I'd say hypocritical is sitting on a high horse and criticizing other people for eating the exact same things you eat. That's why I suspect trolling, because the myopia and sanctimoniousness absolutely defies belief.12 -

This. Rarely have I seen someone who so blatantly defies the "those in glass houses should not cast stones" mantra...14 -

I am rarely surprised by things that are posted here. But there is a certain irony that you are calling others hypocritical, when you are judging them for consuming what you call "crap" when you are doing it yourself. Seriously, start with yourself.7 -

I've looked over your diary, it looks much like mine, which I don't open because I choose to be accountable to the only person that matters, myself. You're making huge assumptions about everyone, therefore leaving yourself wide open to this criticism you're receiving. You need to step down off your pedestal and join the rest of us by realizing there is no one right way to do this and if you dispense advise not followed up with peer reviewed credible research you are going to get called out on it. And it still boils down to this: you are being successful with your weight loss because you are consuming fewer calories than you burn. Your health is good as is the health of most of us on here because we choose to make those calories as healthy as possible because we do realize that being healthy does not include eating a steady diet of "junk" whether it be soda (I haven't had one in years), Big Macs (have never had one), or sweet treats like cookies and donuts which I've learned to eat in moderation, meaning seldom.

So it's your way or the highway?
Gotcha.
My dietitian read what you wrote...
Of course, she disagreed with everything and compared the information to Dr Oz. CICO was the very first thing my dietitian learned about when she attended University (QUT, Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, a 4 year course).
I find it hypocritical how you eat the foods you blatantly criticize others for eating. Why? We're in the same boat. You act as if we shove Big Macs into our holes every day. I have a Big Mac maybe once every 2-3 months. I also how can you be an expert at deriving emotion from basic text? It is text and should be read with a lack of emotion. It is just information. However, you do sound so very argumentative, insulting and angry. You basically called me stupid in your first response to me. And speaking of maturity, showing your daughter these posts just so you have someone on your side speaks great volumes.
We are what we eat has to the be the most ridiculous saying in existence.
