Deadlifts arent bad for you if done correctly. Your lower back has muscles that need to be trained which is why lower back pain is so common. I suggest learning all you can about deadlifts and putting them into your workouts2

Those muscles can be trained without doing deadlifts.0 -

Agreed, no one cares how much you can deadlift or squat anyway. I just curl. Now THAT's a proper exercise.3 -
