Also, for those expressing wonderments over the wondrous ingredients, they are apparently "pressing" romaine, spinach, carrots, apples and the other usual things that I get the old-timey way from the salad bar at work, but possibly they are getting the ingredients from unicorns, and not my salad bar (which also includes pickled pepper rings, which I don't see here):

Finally, if you happen to be married to, theoretically, say, a professional chemist who also holds a double major in biology, whom you suspect might relentlessly mock you and debunk your magical juicing powers, not that this is intended to represent any real-life situation or entity, fear not: there is a helpful section on how to get your spouse to join you on your juicing journey, nay, pilgrimage: have him watch some youtube videos ("at youtube.com") with you ("After you watch those movies, you will be speaking all night about what you just learned and how you can use that information to improve your lives"), and then after you finish your cleanse, be sure that he then presents you with a nice dinner or better yet, a nice vacation:

Back before I learned how the human body worked, I tried to do a juice cleanse several times. Just bought lots of produce and a juicer. And you're right - I learned something about my body. I learned my body appreciates actual food. It took about 6 hours for me to start wondering if it was okay to gnaw on my arm. So I decided to eat a salad, just greens. Then i decided to eat some crunchy cucumber.
Then I ordered a pizza.
Now that I know better, if I've been overdoing it, I will focus on eating light for a couple of days, focusing on lots of fiber. But you're right, it's so silly and inconsiderate of us to try to educate people rather than watch them make the same mistakes we did.8 -

A few years ago when I was more naive and believed everything I read, I watched the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly dead about an obese guy doing a juice fast for a couple months (or something like that) and changing his life. He made it all sound so amazing, so I decided to follow his recommendations and do a juice cleanse.
I bought a juicer and lots of produce, read his website (and there are a lot of people who form a sort of juice fast community).
I made it close to three weeks and stopped after my husband begged me. A large part of the problem (aside from the many that people here have listed) for me was that after the 7-10 days, I started having a visceral reaction to drinking most of the juices - especially the veg ones. As much as I tried to like them and made myself drink them (because it was the only thing I could have), even the smell started turning my stomach.
One day close to two weeks in, I threw up every veg juice I tried to make. Violent, uncontrollable vomiting - not that I think "green juice" is inherently disgusting or bad, but my body just refused. That experience left me with such a strong gut-reaction that even to this day, seeing someone drink a green smoothie makes me feel a little queasy. I can't even stand the smell of tomato juice drinks. It's just such a bad visceral memory.
That was quite a problem since I still had two weeks of juice fasting left to do but could no longer stomach a lot of the juices. Mostly I was left with some fruit juices (which I really quite liked), but trying to live off fruit juice is a miserable, miserable experience. I ended up feeling so weak and so dizzy that I hardly got out of bed, and after awhile, the idea of even getting up to make a juice seemed like too much effort, so I started going all day without making one.
20 days in, I finally listened to my husband who had been initially supportive but begged me to quit due to worry. Even quitting wasn't easy! I threw up everything I tried to eat for the first day. The second day, I managed to eat some canned peaches and lived off those for a couple of days, slowing adding in yogurt.
It was such an awful, awful experience. I don't even remember how I got through the last days of the juice cleanse except I think I slept a lot. I felt like a massive failure for a long time for being unable to last a month or to make it a regular part of my lifestyle as I had intended. One I stopped, I just couldn't face doing it again, even for a shorter period of time, and I got rid of the juicer. I was really hard on myself for failing.
I lost 21lbs in just less than 3 weeks (obviously a lot of water weight) and a bit more while trying to get my stomach to accept food again, but of course it didn't last.
Now I forgive my younger, dumber self who didn't know any better but learned a very valuable experience, even if it means I can never drink anything green again.
I don't think any harm will come to the OP from doing a 2 day cleanse, but it's an expensive way to do very little besides make you pee.8 -
I don't think anyone is attacking her. They are just stating the facts - a juice "detox" is unnecessary and, in this case, expensive.6
