A small victory but one i am extremely proud of. My two brothers got me some gym equipment as a early christmas present. We lost our dad last year and i ate myself into a rut but i have been trying hard to get myself out of it. My victory is i got some help putting a programme together and i have done the work out two days in a row. I am proud because a few months ago eventhough the equipment is all set up in my basement i would have still found an excuse not to workout. But instead i am excited and i want to get my life back plus i could never let my brothers down because they invested thought, time and a lot of money into setting up a home gym for me.38

Bought my very first pair of skinny jeans today! In a size 14!!!22

I can now fit back into uk size 12 jeans yay! At my biggest point I was in size 18 so will be taking them to a charity shop.20

Noticing how my body has changed shape is a pretty big one for me. I am getting muscles in my shoulders and arms, and my legs are looking thinner.
Not perfect- but getting better.17 -
Oh! And lowering of dosages in medications! That was a pretty cool one that happened recently.19

My very first 5K in April 2015 I did in 36:13.... this past weekend I did a 5K in 26:38 - almost 10 minutes faster! I couldn't run 3 minutes continuously when I first started out last February, so improving my mile time that much was pretty exciting to me.22

It's not a specific NSV, but I've been able to noticeably kick my workout intensity up a notch the past several weeks. My stamina is increasing and I'm able to lift heavier weights and do more sets. The scale hasn't moved a ton but my physique is changing, my pants are looser so I know I'm replacing fat with muscle and getting more lean.18

I recently wore an outfit in public to a family gathering that I used to think looked awful and made me totally self conscious... And I got lots of compliments! (It was a bit awkward, I'm bad with compliments)25

I went for my first cross country ski of the season AND then was able to take the boys to the pool. I swam 250 metres at the pool. Two workouts in a day-and then a nap after dinner.14

I was at my mum's yesterday and came across a coat I used to wear when I was a tender age 19. I don't know why mum kept it, maybe she wears it, who cares. Anyway, I tried it on and it wrapped around me twice . . . so I am thinner now than I was as a teenager; which was when I first met my husband.
Actually, thinking about it, I'm thinner now than I was at school as well - at school I was a UK 16, I'm now a UK 8/10. I'm probably thinner than most of my school friends were/are now as well . . . I was always the fat dumpy one, trying to hide away. Not any more though...

I got my butt kicked in my first karate class monday. Tuesday and Wednesday felt like a truck drove over me and parked BUT I went back Wednesday for class 2! it was so hard and so fun and I can't wait to go back when they reopen after the holidays....plan on working on my push ups and sit ups from now till they really open.18

I went on a run yesterday and during one song I just decided to kick it up a notch and run to the beat. I could feel that I was working harder, but I didn't feel like i was going to die. Looked at my watch and it said I was doing 12min/mile. I remember being elated when I was under 16min/mile this summer!28

I have 2.
1. When asked what I wanted for Christmas, my reply was work out clothes... When did this happen?
2. My boyfriend wrapped his arms around me this morning, and said "wow you are getting so much smaller, it is getting easy to put my arms around you."

I started in a size 22-24 jeans over the summer. Yesterday my mil gave me some jeans in a size 16w and I was sure they would be too small until sometime next year.
Nope! They fit perfectly! Not even a muffin top! Woohoo!31 -
I've read all the posts in here but finally decided to contribute! Today at work one of my coworkers commented on how small I'm getting! She said I'm starting to get more of a pear shape because my waist has gone in so much and that my thighs look so toned! She also told me she saw me from behind the other day and didn't even recognize me at first! I'm still having a hard time seeing any change but it was nice that someone noticed!!!33

I'm no longer in the three digit weight Also, I'm going to need a new belt.10

Some guy at the gym said my arms were ripped. I have worked hard so I was very appreciative.17

We had an earthquake six weeks ago and our bedroom mirror fell down and broke. I haven't bothered to replace it yet because I am looking for something I really like. So because there are hardly any other mirrors in the house I have not been able to see myself much. Today I was at my mothers house and happened to glance in a mirror and noticed the front of my shoulder was really popping out - the structure of it was much more defined. Pleased to know the push-ups of the last month are doing somehting!15

I remember when running one ten minute mile was a chore. Now I can run three AFTER a strength training session24

For the first time EVER, in my ENTIRE life, I got rid of a belt because it is now too big. I pulled it out of the closet and wrapped it around my waist and the last hole is about 2 - 3 inches from where I need a belt to latch. I'm keeping it with my one pair of "fat pants" so when I reach my goal weight I can take some awesome pictures.
Another small victory - I went to the Russell Stover Candy Outlet last night and wasn't really even tempted by the candy. I bought what I went in for (sugar free chocolates for Mom) and left with nothing extra. My willpower is exponentially stronger than it was 6 months ago.30 -
For the first time in 15 years I have resisted the festive feast at the nurses station (and there is a LOT of lovely looking food at that station!)
As a reward, I need to make a new hole in my belt.15 -

I read that as "We had earthquake sex..." And I was thinking "Good for you!!!"32 -
Several days ago, I posted about my favorite pair of jeans which I was finally able to button all the way up. This post is about my second favorite pair of jeans, which I'm wearing right now. They're exactly like my favorite pair, just one size bigger. Well, this morning I discovered that they've become loose enough for me to stick my entire hand down my pants while they're still buttoned! There's no way I could've done this three weeks ago. At this point, I'm pretty sure all of you are asking yourselves, "Why is he sticking his hand down his pants and why on Earth is he telling us about it?" To be quite honest, I'm asking myself that very same question as I type this. I clearly didn't think things through before I started writing this. At any rate, Happy Holidays everyone!52

I was just on the rowing machine at the gym. When I stopped and took out my headphones, the guy next to me asked what I was training for. "Uh, an indoor rowing race actually. What gave it away?" He said that people don't work as hard as I just did unless they have goal in mind, and because I looked like a pro.
Couldn't come at a better time. My weight has been stuck for a couple of weeks, I still have 50 lbs to go, and the recognition was nice.29 -

It's great to find a fellow rower on MFP! I just started rowing three weeks ago and I'm loving it. My goal is to compete in an indoor race at some point in 2017. Which one are you training for?2 -
Sweet! The CRASH-B in Boston. I live in New England so it's pretty close, and the February timeframe is perfect. Otherwise I'd have chosen one that's slightly less intimidating! Which ones are you considering?1

I'm picturing Al Bundy here....7 -

I was actually planning to start researching all of that on Monday. The only one I've heard of is CRASH-B but I figure Los Angeles will have at least a couple of races (regattas?) I can jump into. Hoping to get on the water in the fall of 2017 as well!-1
