This post is about my second favorite pair of jeans, which I'm wearing right now. They're exactly like my favorite pair, just one size bigger. Well, this morning I discovered that they've become loose enough for me to stick my entire hand down my pants while they're still buttoned! There's no way I could've done this three weeks ago. At this point, I'm pretty sure all of you are asking yourselves, "Why is he sticking his hand down his pants and why on Earth is he telling us about it?" To be quite honest, I'm asking myself that very same question as I type this. I clearly didn't think things through before I started writing this. At any rate, Happy Holidays everyone!
I'm picturing Al Bundy here....

I was actually planning to start researching all of that on Monday. The only one I've heard of is CRASH-B but I figure Los Angeles will have at least a couple of races (regattas?) I can jump into. Hoping to get on the water in the fall of 2017 as well!
The Concept2 website has a race calendar, as well as a most excellent training log. I'll stop high hijacking this thread now, but I'll start a rowing thread in Fitness to see if we can find anyone else!

So because there are hardly any other mirrors in the house I have not been able to see myself much. Today I was at my mothers house and happened to glance in a mirror and noticed the front of my shoulder was really popping out - the structure of it was much more defined. Pleased to know the push-ups of the last month are doing somehting!
I read that as "We had earthquake sex..." And I was thinking "Good for you!!!"
Haha! Certainly was a lot of rocking and rolling going on!

Every year I make caramel corn for Christmas. The recipe includes corn syrup which does not seem to come in small sizes, so I buy a big bottle to use only 1/2 cup. Then I usually indulge my sweet tooth with the rest of the bottle over the next couple of weeks - which is kind of gross but I loved it. This year when I was ready to make my caramel corn, I realized I didn't even have to buy a bottle because I have been logging on MFP for one year now and I had totally forgotten about last year's corn syrup17

Went shopping last night after losing 40lbs and comfortably fit into a size 16 in jeans (I used to wear a 22) and a Large and XL top (I used to wear a 2X)!!!!!!!!!!!!34

First NSV is that I am officially down 2 pant sizes and 1 shirt size!! I was feeling it in my clothes and finally tried some new clothes on. Definitely a very happy day!! Second NSV is that the holiday season was my kryptonite the last time I tried losing weight. I can't count the treats I've turned down, especially at work (I work in a clinic and everyone brings things and drug reps love bringing in treats!), I've stayed on track and have lost weight the entire holiday season. Hooray!!20

I have a some running pants that have fit for around a year now but were always just a little tight and gave me a slight muffin top so I only wore them if my others were dirty. Today I put them on and they fit perfect!! I then proceeded to check myself out at every angle because I looked damn good22

Saw one of my Adult nephews last night and he didn't stop asking me how I had lost the weight. It felt great as many others have not even noticed. I am only half way there and gave me tons of motivation to continue17

I'm new here but have been reading this message board every day since Nov. 17. (Since then I've lost 2 lbs, which is a great start, I think considering Thanksgiving, 4 birthdays, Christmas Eve dinner.) At said dinner last night, my 3-year-old niece figured out how to use her mom's phone and went around snapping our pics and SHOWING THEM TO US. OMG. I went into the bathroom, looked myself in the eye, and said, "You are a beautiful woman and are going to have such an adventure. It won't be long before you are posting NSVs like the ones you read: jeans fitting, ring fitting, skinny shadow, tying shoes, etc., etc. Now enjoy your wonderful evening." Before reading all your posts, I would have said something more like, "How can you be so disgusting?" Thank you everyone who posts here for being such inspirations. I hope I can join you soon in sharing some other NSVs. BTW, I'm reading posts backward, which is so much fun. I'm on page 235. I can see a post and think, "Don't worry, girl, in about 5 more pages you're going to feel much better." It's kind of like "Back to the Future." MERRY CHRISTMAS, to all.68

During this entire holiday season I never went over my calorie limit42
-
I exercised on Christmas, even though I didn't want to.36

My sister gave me a nice hoodie for Christmas last year, size XXL. She gave me the same hoodie this year, size medium.61

I helped my mom clean up after Christmas dinner, and didn’t have to go sit down because my back hurt.
Also size XL pants instead of 5X!45 -
I started running about two months ago and haven't stopped since...nine or so miles a week max, as I'm still allowing my body (joints, muscles) to transition into this new form of exercise gradually. (I'm a kickboxing, advanced step, body weight exercise fanatic... recently became more consistent with a progressive weights program but still not as structured with that as I could be)
Today I ran a new route and took those hills like a Beast. My NSV is that although obviously I'm still new to this, I no longer write or place -being a runner-in quotation marks when I'm asked about it. Lol Shoot, I'm running!22 -
I can see arm muscles through my shirt24

My teeenage daughter, who pretty much ignores anything not to do with her (typical teenager) told me yesterday that my "bat wings" are decreasing in size.
Shame that my stomach/thighs won't join them . . .32 -

184 out of 933 total runners
A year ago I could barely run a mile without stopping!
Way to go - thats my goal too! I'm so close and can't wait to post as my NSV13 -
So no one commented on my weight loss at Christmas, and I only saw about five dozen or so people who hadn't seen me in a year. None of my family members who have seen me all year have said anything either. (When I was gaining they couldn't STOP talking about it).
And I didn't care.
I had on this dress in a form fitting cut I would not usually wear. And added a belt which I would not normally do.
And I looked really, really nice.
They did say that - that I looked very pretty and my dress was very pretty.
And I also didn't care.
I did care that when I looked in the mirror I was pleased at my progress.

it's snowing out there. again. i don't own a snow shovel and refuse to be one of those panicky people the staff snicker at, showing up wild-eyed and wanting one when it's already too late. i'll buy myself one in july or something.
but meanwhile it's snowing, and we get VERY slippery lawsuit-breeding type snow. so i went out there this morning with an industrial-grade dustpan i found in a forgotten closet.
third-world squat is a thing. a very comfortable thing.25 -
OK, this may seem ridiculous, but standing in front of a mirror I can just, almost, sort of, a tiny bit start to see my belly button. (And for sure if I suck in.) My belly is kind of stubborn but, perhaps, finally giving in. ...22

I have a couple of NSV's.
1. Had a wonderful holiday weekend. Ate what I wanted, enjoyed myself, I probably went over calories, but it probably wasn't by too much. Even better, I didn't worry about looking like a pig, eating too much and now I know I am ready to go back to my new everyday eating habits.
2. My sister bought me a gift card to a regular department store so I could buy new clothes. I haven't been able to buy clothes at this store for over 8 years. Their plus size selection sucks. I can't wait to go.
3. I ran through Walmart, from the cashier stands all the way to the back, and back again. I wasn't even winded, and I didn't worry if I looked funny. I was able to make it back before the cashier had the BF checked out, so I didn't have to wait in line again.
4. I am going a way for a weekend in January, and am looking forward to either trying cross country skiing, or snow shoeing. 6 months ago, I would have dreaded the idea, of getting off my *kitten* and doing something physical.

Three nsv's.....I pretty much have eaten whatever I wanted to over the holidays. But no more than the average person, if you know what I mean. In the past I would have eaten EVERYTHING to excess, and FAR more than other people. I have walked, cross country skiied, or both, every day. And my husband bought me new pyjamas that are a size medium and fit perfectly. I can get rid of the 1x pj's I've been wearing.19
