I've managed to still loose .2 ounces even though I was dehydrated for 2 days because of the stomach bug! I honestly didn't think I would loose anything because my body trends on the side of retaining water. I'm grateful for the loss!1 -
I think I'm a little older than many of you -- I'm 59 -- and for the last 30-some years I've been losing weight! That's a terrible (TERRIBLE!) stat -- I should start by telling you that at my highest point (in early 20's-right after college) I was 195. That's a number you don't forget when you're 5'3"!! Nothing looked good on me -- and I went to a nutrisystem place, lost 25 or so pounds -- and stayed in the 170's for a couple of years -- then I met my husband (who liked me even though!!) and lost weight again -- got to the 140's -- stayed there -- had a baby -- went back to the 170's, got back to the 150's and that's where I was...for decades! Everyday I said I'd start a diet -- and then didn't go longer than a couple of pounds. What motivates me is that after all this time -- like I said, it's been DECADES -- I'm making it a priority. I'm doing it! So -- whoever is reading this -- it can happen! I track calories (thank you MFP!)-- I'm cutting out most sugar (history of Mom and brother both dieing from complications from onset Diabetes) -- I'm eating Mediterranean (greens, veggies, fruits, protein) and wine -- lol! -- and my only advice is don't wait! DO IT!! It feels great to put ANYTHING on and it fits! It feels great to be able to jog/run/dance all night long!! DO IT! This morning I weighed 129.0! Yay! I'm going for the 'teens! That's my motivation. It feels GREAT! Thanks for the question Rebecca!!8

My goal is 1/2 lb per week so I made my goal. Have been in a step challenge with another person. That was motivating me to really up my steps, until she stopped walking much. Wish I found that motivation from inside all the time. But if that were the case, I wouldn't have gained this weight the first time or this time!
Prepped carrots, kale and spinach for my smoothies. Each is processed into liquid then frozen into cubes. Eliminates a lot of waste. IF I have one each day, I don't have to think much about a balanced diet.

Somehow I managed to lose 1lb, despite my best efforts the last few days. I'm not going to complain! Getting serious about it today. Thankfully, I'm still so full from last night's escapades that today should be easy4

Ok so first day tracking in a week
The batteries in my weighing scales have gone so I will update my stats when I replace them. Well done to all who logged and lost!2 -
Hi All,
I'm 22yrs., 5'3 tall and am looking to lose around 30ish lbs. Please feel free to add me so that we can tackle these challenges together!3 -
5'2" and 144# and 62 years young. Need to lose 20#. Lost it last year (and the year before also) and regained it both times. Lost a pound this month. Big victory as I can easily gain 5-10#'s between Thanksgiving and Christmas. My goal is to get to maintenance and have it be a 3# range, not a 20# range!2

Haven't seen many weights posted lately. How is everyone doing? I for one do not look forward to weighing in Sunday (after the holiday), but I will. Folks need to see the ups and downs I suppose.
By the way those who post to be added, you already are. To benefit most from the group, post your weekly weigh ins. Also nice to pick out a few folks you think you'd connect with and send friend requests. Including a message with the friend requests helps as well.

Last time I posted was Dec. 23rd and I was 129.0 -- then Christmas came! But it's not too bad -- I'm 129.8 -- and I'll take it! When I reach my goal (now it's 117 -that would be 35 pounds overall) I will need to deal with the ups and downs and maintain -- so I'm trying just to maintain right now until the holidays are over and I can get back to an eating routine. (We're traveling and visiting with family right now -- it's tough when everyone wants to entertain and make special dishes and eat out! But -- it's fun, and it's real.)4

Can I join in? I know this is a slightly older thread but I've only been back here for 10 days. I left when I was TTC. I just had a baby girl by c section in November and am waiting to be cleared for exercise by my healthcare provider. I've done nothing to lose weight since my daughter was born, but I have still lost more than 30lbs in the last six weeks since her birth.
Age: 31
Height: 5'3.5"
Highest weight - 223lbs (while pregnant so it doesn't really count...)
Highest not pregnant weight - 210lbs
CW: 191lbs (on Monday)
Lowest adult weight - 167.7lbs*
GW: 135-150lbs
I understand my goal is strange, but I also want to gain some muscle mass in addition to losing fat. I'm not sure what my numbers are going to look like at that point.
Right now pounds are pouring off me even though I eat to satisfaction (estimating 2000-2200cal daily) and am basically sedentary or light activity so my body is clearly shedding something.
* This happened a few years ago and done in a rather unhealthy manner at a maximum of 1200cal daily and exercising 90-250 minutes moderate to heavy cardio daily. I got very sick (migraines, severe abdominal pain, muscle weakness, sleeping 14-16h daily, fainting) because my net calories ended up in the 100-400 range. Don't do this. Feed your body. When I stopped doing that level of harm to my body, the yoyo back to 195lbs or so was awful.0 -
What kind of exercise are you ladies doing to get to your goal weight? How do you stay motivated? I don't have trouble staying in my calorie range during the week but the weekends derail me and I really need help to keep the eating (and drinking) in check! Any advice is welcome & appreciated!0

I lift weights. Rarely do any cardio, aside from a 5-10 minute walk as my warm up. I have a lot of aesthetic and strength goals and I just genuinely enjoy going to the gym to lift weights, so it's pretty easy for me to stay motivated for my workouts.
I have used calorie banking if I want to eat more certain days. Save about 200 calories a day for the weekend (so if you saved 200x5 days a week = 1000, you could eat 500 more on saturday and sunday.)0 -

As long as I'm working out, my diet seems pretty healthy. When I stop working out, I start craving high fat/carby goodness. Here are some things I do. Some are may be odd, but it's what I do.
Weekends are tricky. I weigh on Sunday to keep me on target Friday and Saturday. I don't log at all on Sunday to give my brain a break.
I work out 4-6 days a week. I have 2 basic workouts:
3 (maybe 4) days a week: 15 min cardio warm up, lift (either upper or lower body) for an hour and finish with 15 min hard effort cardio.
The other day or 2, I do pure cardio hard effort. Often this is spin class, but there are days when I run or do the arc trainer.0 -
I have a stationary bike and ride 10 miles before work 4 mornings a week and watch the news (and am drenched in sweat). I end with some hand weights and stretching. Holidays are tough!!
I've done workout DVD's and beast body. I also jogged for decades. My feet developed issues so it's the bike and hand weights. Some day I might join a gym and do big weights.0 -
I'm 5'1'' (19) and I'm looking to lose 30-40lbs or so but Im getting close to having under 30 left! Feel free to add me too.0

Sounds exactly like the same problem I have!0 -

I weigh in tomorrow morning and it has been a pretty good week so far. I had to go to work one hour early this week, so I had to cut my jog down to 2-3 miles instead of 4-5 miles. Therefore, I'm not burning as many calories, but it's cool.

Motivation is getting into a smaller pair of pants! Just getting my metabolism train rolling again. I'm new to serious cardio, since a heel spur developing last year- from the exclusive elliptical use (not overuse). I wish I could run, but gave that up because of my knee. I've been doing some gym classes, but anything with "bootcamp" in the title is just too much for me right now. Yoga is fine, but doesn't get my heart rate up enough. Going to do Jillian Michael's 30 day shred starting Jan 1. It has some jumping jacks and stuff- but not too much, since she also has weights and abs in there too. Just enough to hurt, but still recover. I think that's where finding the right balance comes in. It'll take time to figure my body out, and adjust as I get stronger. Managing the pains everywhere is also key- I bought a foam roller to help. Any step in the right direction...and patience!1

Sounds like you've got a good plan. There really is something for everyone. Sometimes it just takes time to find what fits.

I would LOVE some support!! My name is Kayla and I'm 5'2 and currently 160lbs. Super new to this, but it would really to help to have people to support/supporting me. My friends and family aren't worried about health right now and it's hard to maintain focus!
I am in the same boat! My husband could care less about health and fitness and loves to eat a bowl of ice cream in front of me every night with a smile on his face...lol! But seriously, I am on my own here and the struggle is real, especially since I have 3 little ones at home. Add me as a friend! (I can't figure out how to add people as friends yet).
I am 5"3' and around 168-170. I would like to be under 150 by May (Honeymoon beach vacation!) and continue down to 135. I like the idea of being down to 125, but I have always been of athletic build so I think 135 is more reasonable for me, with strong lean muscle!
Anyone can friend me. I need to be involved with people of like minds!1 -
Same here but it.wont let me send u a friend's request0
