Hey guys, I thought I had food poisoning but now it looks like a parasite. I'm throwing up several times a day and the o lay thing I seem to be able to keep down is plain bread and juice. I haven't gained weight or lost it (yet) but this has been since dec 24th that I've been off plan. Does anyone know any easy to digest foods? Thank you!!!

What has the doctor given you to help get rid of the worms or what did you get from over the counter?
Whenever I have an upset stomach - potatoes and rice have been easy to keep down, usually its only a day or two, so quickly over it.

This^^^^^^^^^^ Quit trying to cure yourself, this could be serious, and food poisoning doesn't last that long.9 -

Agree with the others ... go to the doctor now!

Please tell me you've already been and got medical attention.
I'm trying to keep faith in humanity's intelligence here.
The very last thing you need to be doing right now is worry about the scale.11 -
Hospital once and doctor twice but I still feel like they is something else. Naturpath gave me a bunch of supplements but other than that- amoxicillin0

There is a diet for when you have stomach issues- BRAT- which is bananas, rice (plain), applesauce, and toast. Not necessarily all together. supposed to be easy is you've been vomiting, but usually you'd just eat these for like the next 24 hours, not weeks. Anyway just stick to plain whole foods, and yeah I'd go back to the doc if you truly can't keep anything down besides juice and toast.7

My friends daughter and son recently (over Christmas) had something similar. Thought they had food poisoning, but happened like a week apart so that was pulled out. Went to doctor had antibiotic and all sorts of tests and all came out negative. Took about 3 weeks to be better so they figured it was some kind of virus. Doctor did give anti nausea medication.2

So you feel like you have a parasite, but a hospital and two doctors visits didn't find one? Have you had parasites before (diagnosed by a doctor)?10 -
No, diagnosed by naturpath1

So little information here. What is the medical diagnosis by the doctors? They just gave you an antibiotic?0

Naturopaths aren't doctors. Oy vey.22

This is not a reliable diagnosis. You need a real doctor. If you did what the first doctor said to do and it didn't help, go get a second opinion from another real doctor.

How was this diagnosis made?1 -
Are there any eggs in your stool? If yes then it is probably a parasite and you need to take medication for it. The more you eat glucose, the more they will grow.2

Is the "doctor" you've seen twice the naturopath? If so, get proper medical attention asap. Your profile indicates you're in Ontario. Please take advantage of our wonderful health care system and see a real doctor today.21 -
You need to see a medical doctor with a PhD in Medicine. Not a Naturopath.7

Agree with everyone else. You need a real actual doctor with a medical degree.5

I had giardia once, which is a parasite. I didn't vomit, but had diarrhea for 2.5 months. Parasites generally just effect the lower tract, although you can get some nausea. Anyway, I know there are other things you can get. Generally you will need Flagyl (metroconazole) to fix it. Amoxicillan is for bacteria, not parasites.4

It's also not for a virus...3

You mean MD. While yes a PhD is a doctorate degree, an MD is a medical doctor.
OP see a real doctor. Don't put your your life in the hands of someone who is not a medical professional. It literally could be the difference between life and death, andnifbyou get a diagnosis too late, it may too late to do anything.16 -

I posted my previous question before seeing your answer.
Please push for further testing with your regular doctor.2 -

Ha, yeah, I meant MD. I was thinking of the wrong doctor, lol. My SIL is a doctor of Chemistry and has a PhD. I think I was having a freudian moment there. Thanks for fixing that for me. One of those days, you know...6
