Would you weigh lift everyday??
Yep! 5-6 days/week. At that time, I was mostly sedentary every day, other than my workouts, so I rested throughout the entire day, as well as slept 7-9 hrs a night no problem... That all allowed me to rest and recover just fine.
Sleep is a different story though after having my baby, lol.. I lift every other day now because of the extra things I'm doing and the lack of sleep I tend to get.
It all kind of depends of your lifestyle as far as how much lifting you should do and how often.. It is true though that the more work you put into it, the better your results will be so always do your very best at every opportunity given.

If it's not much to ask for, I need advice about weight lifting program. I dance and do yoga to burn calories.... and I m successful for about forty pounds...But they keep coming back.... being a surgeon n having a busy life, it's difficult to keep my weight n good intake under check... N it becomes difficult to take less then 1200 calories forever, with all my hectic work routine and exams. Also I want to build lean muscle, get rid of belly fat and fat tissue as it keeps enlarging to its original size every now and then.
Can you guide me how to start on weight lifting...as a beginner, as I don't have access to a good gym nor a,personal trainer where I am.....
Can you help Me please by taking time out and giving your advice....
Hi Zahra, thank you so much.
It would totally be difficult to eat 1200 calories and have such a hectic and busy lifestyle!! So first of all, I would definitely recommend to you to start eating MORE, start by raising your calories gradually week to week. Many factors depend on how much an individual should be eating per day such as height, weight, activity level, etc.. 1200 is very low and too low for someone who is active like you are and trying to build muscle.
Have you used the MFP calculator for figuring out a starting point? It asks you for this information, try to be as accurate as possible! I don't know your stats so I can not suggest an amount.
Also, a much better, general starting point for macros here on MFP is closer to an even split - 40% carbs, 30% fats, 30% protein. I think the default for MFP is different with much higher carbs/lower protein, so you would have to go into your settings and change it.
As far as weight lifting, you need food to fuel your workouts and your daily activity. A pair of dumbbells is really all you need to begin with, along with an increase to calories!
I'll add you so I can help you in the future if you need it!
Good luck.1 -
Amazing! I just started January of this year with similar height and weight and I am hoping to be where you are in December...thanks for the inspiration. I needed this reassurance after this past weekend!2

You've done fantastic. I'm a size 20. Started walking, but find it difficult to cut out the picking at food. You've inspired me to get up off the couch and do some exercise now. Thankyou.1

Thank you. Here is my current progress after having my baby 10 months ago. It's always hard to post pictures of my tummy but it really shows the work I think. I have lost 30lbs between these photos over the past 8 months. The before is me at 180lbs (2 months pp) and the after is today at 148lbs.
It's taken me a lot longer to lose weight this time around, as I am losing an average of 1lb per week vs 2lbs/week before but I just keep going! Goal is to lose another 20lbs to be at pre baby weight and 30lbs for competition in June (maybe lol) if I have the courage!!!
My advice to you is to be as consistent as you can and when (not if, because we all do) you make a mistake, don't quit or even stop a few days, get right back in it! Nothing beats patience and consistency.
I'm looking forward to sharing my progress at 1 year post baby in March, as well as my final progress just before the show in June.
Best to you! You can totally do this.

Sure!
Example
(I typically eat 5-6 meals a day. For snacks, I'll add something like granola or oatmeal with a protein shake or piece of cheese on a whole wheat tortilla.)
Breakfast:
Greek yogurt with chia and granola
Half serving of protein shake
Lunch:
Turkey or peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread with chia and hemp seeds
Piece of fruit
Dinner:
Grilled BBQ chicken breast with chia and hemp seeds
Green beans or brocolli with olive oil
@ECE1234 and @valeria3984 Thank you!1 -

Love it, thank you! And hi to you, omakase.
My hubby is doing great. He is back on injections again now though but taking very little insulin.
It had been up and down with him over the past year or so. He gets stuck in ruts at times too but with diabetes, that's never a good thing. I encourage him as much as I can but it really is up to him in the end. He's getting back on track with me though (the pregnancy threw us both off) but it's going to take time again.
He's doing well and hanging in there, but fights the same battles we do. Thank you for asking!!0 -
Your story is very inspiring! Thank you for taking us along with you on this journey.

Do you find the last 10 lbs or so incredibly sloooow to come off? I work out 4 times per week with a trainer. I work hard. My diet is pretty clean too I eat Btwn 1200- 1300 cals per day on average but the weightloss is so very slow for me! Since dec 15 When I began tracking calories my weight has hovered around the 144 mark I'm about 5'4". This morn it was 142.8 I know muscle has grown back etc. But still just waiting to look great in a bikini...Lol we booked a trip to Cuba for march 12 and that was my goal and motivation to get back in good shape. I feel in pretty good shape but I just need this fat to leave my abdomen!! Lol ...I'm 42 and have had 2 kids myself maybe it's metabolism I don't know but since you have already "been there" where u got your weight down where u wanted it to be I thought I'd ask. U r looking great btw and your stomach looks great!0
