{{ chocolate washing picture... acidentally quoted wrong one, cant get the right one back}}
bahahhahahah
I am SO stealing that picture.
This thread is fast becoming near and dear to my heart. Every time I see someone... omg *must*add*friend*... I realize... theyre already my friend hahahaha... go Sue!1 -
I am in love with this thread. Like so many have said, I tried to eliminate, reduce, etc. the "bad" foods numerous times and I have never been successful. As soon as I do it, I find that all I want is that thing I eliminated. After a lot of trial and error, I have found I am the type that needs to have the flexibility to still enjoy what I love, like pizza, burgers and cake! So, now I believe that no food is "good" or "bad". I tend to follow the 80/20 rule with food. 80% eating for nutrition and 20% eating whatever the hell sounds good at the time while still meeting my calorie goals.
This morning I had McDonald's for breakfast. Each night this week, I have had a full size hershey bar with almonds after dinner. I also still have my favorite homemade pizza every friday, with a coke. And I manage to fit it all into my calorie goals.
Life without delicious food is no fun.4 -

I settled down with a plate of cheesecake to read some comments about how you're all going to die from sugar cancer unless you eat 100% clean and haven't seen a single one. Not even a mention of kale. Where's the broscience?
Hmphhh.
I can't hear you over the sound of me eating a Twinkie.
Cmon yall got to stop, i havent laughed this much in months! My husband thinks Ive completely lost it. he's gone to make me food, must think Im in some low sugar hallucinations hahahahah Its a good thing my computer chair has arms..... rofl

You have a pastry chef? AT WORK!? Please tell me you work in a restaurant or bakery....because if you work in an office then I am filing a complaint with my HR dept. today about our lack of pastry chef.
On another note, currently my husband is budgeting 300 calories a day for one can of Hopslam each night. Two nights ago he came home with 36 cans. January/February is his Hopslam season in my house. Last year it took him months to work off his Hopslam gut so now he plans for it. (For those that don't know what Hopslam is, it is a beer made my Bell's Brewery and is only brewed once a year in limited batches.)5 -

I haven't tried the pea chips yet, but someone else recommended them too so perhaps I'll give them a go!
As for popcorn - our tiny local cinema makes buttered popcorn so good that people will go there just to buy a bag of it, not to see a movie!
do it! doooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeet!!
Im glad we never go to movies, that would so be a weakness if I had the opportunity. omg I love butter. Have to work HARD to limit it.2 -
This thread makes me feel lighter already. It's good to know there are others on here who live in my world. I hate to put my food in my diary sometimes, afraid of being judged!. Expect friend requests, people.3

Relax, there is no bad food. There are foods it's better to have less of, if you want to have a balanced and workable diet- as in what you eat for life, not "dieting", but as long as it isn't spoiled or poisoned, it isn't bad or dirty. Eat what works for you, make sure to get enough protein in so you dont lose muscle (this is a difficult one for me) and definitely log everything- make your diary private if it's making you nervous to put anything in there. Then no one sees it but you.
This thread made me laugh so much, I felt not just lighter, but *light-headed* lol
I think we're going to get along fabulously3 -

Hahaha!!!!! Yes. I work in a fancy-schmancy inn and restaurant. Thank god we don't get a ton of free food as I'd be the size of a house.4 -
Is pizza clean? I don't think they dropped it on the floor. Dinner last night and tonight.
Trouble is, it's a thin crust pepperoni and I've been craving the local Greek place's deep dish meat lovers. I'm gonna have to cave this weekend and just eat it all 3 days.5 -
i try to not eat pasta more than once a day, i limit myself to 8 oz of red wine per week night . . . mostly, i make a valiant effort at hitting protein goals and a lackluster effort at not going too far over sodium. i made a protein cheesecake with greek yogurt and protein powder and no sugar from the recipes board here and it was in the trash before it was out of the pan. it did make me sad that i wasted the chocolate chips that went in it though.
i have an open diary for friends, so if you'd like to add me and want the answer to such burning questions as "who eats the same pasta every day for 6 days in a row?" or "can you hit all your goals if you consume primarily miller light for 36 hours?" please go ahead!8 -
Connie, totally stealing your picture too!Time. Out.

The office where I used to work had an in-house cook who made THE most delicious lunches for all of us, plus cookies once a week and whatever cake we wanted for our birthdays.
It was amazing.
I was fat when I started there, but I'm sure I put on a good few pounds extra during my time with them! I probably managed to lose a few in the few weeks between being laid off from there and joining MFP, just because I wasn't having two large hot meals a day any more!

Went to Buffalo wild wings for the first time this week. My son said we could only go if I tried the hottest wings they had. I could have used some rum with them to ease the pain.
I took one bite of the habanero(spelling?) Wings and downed 3 glasses of milk and had an asthma attack.1 -
OMG, I've found my peeps! Love that you all don't eat always healthy and enjoy a good junk meal from time to time. For example, I've found myself eating McDs last two days (fillet of fish but no cheese, added tomato/lettuce), fries and chicken sandwich today and that is so rare but was pressed for time and Hungry!! I felt guilty, but I"m confessing to you cuz I know you won't judge lol. Lost 25 so far and the plan is working.7

I am so pissed. Last night was supposed to be drive-thru night but instead it ended up having to be lean pork tenderloin with rice and cauliflower night. I'll make up for it tonight by breading some chicken tenders at home and eating those. I might even have tater tots. We'll see how crazy I'm feeling.6

I'm part of the "apples every single day for snack time" club and "popcorn is dessert food" club.
If I'm going to have cheesecake...it's gonna be legit...and I'm going to eat the *kitten* out of it.2 -
Chick-Fil-A for dinner tonight!3
-
Dinner was healthy...
Just pasta with a heavy cream sauce... There were some sun-dried tomatoes and garlic hidden in there... That counts as healthy right?
I keep on having to justify my lunches to one of the work colleagues trying to lose weight. He can't believe that I lost nearly 20kg eating what I eat. I'd rather skip breakfast and have a full plate of awesomeness at lunch than the sad little portion it would end up being (lunch was chili con carne...) It gets seriously old when it's every. single. lunch break.3 -

Just made a Korean stir-fry. Rice noodles (I can't find kosher-certified Korean or bean-thread noodles near me) with seitan and loads of veggies. I will eat this for my next 4 dinners.1

I've never tried those fiber one bars, but I really want to! It seems like a great way to hit the fiber goal. Do they taste good?
omg the fiber one mint chocolate brownie is heaven in 90 calories
I actually just bought these. I like them cold really tasty and it brings out the mint flavor more! I was pleasantly surprised.1 -
